How To Dethrone That Obnoxious Kid

fw3

Recommended Posts

Lately, even though my Chat option is set to "no one," I'm getting the treat of hearing little kids acting like thug royalty, especially in Deathmatches and Racing.

As you've likely experienced, they just go on and on and on, chattering about nothing, throwing out the worst-of-the-worst words you could imagine a young person saying.

And when an idiot like me makes an effort to sincerely and thoughtfully engage them, they want no part of it, insulting and berating anyone - or just making bizarro noises, stressing out the entire group.

I don't want to have to quit a race that I waited ten minutes to find, nor do I want to turn the volume down on my tv, because i still want to hear the music, other players - once in a while during a good run with good people, and I don't wish to do invite-only racing. I host, but rarely do people join.

So, any suggestions on how you might handle these obnoxious little turds? The last kid I encountered was 10 yo and apparently has been with more women (not what he called them) than anyone on "GTA'ER'ONLINED."

Just curious how others deal with it, besides just ignore:

Sorry OP I'm in search for a solution as much as yourself. I exit more lobbies I'd like to just based on the chatter alone. Even if it's one person, If I don't like the crackle of their voice I'm instantly gone.

This the only time greifing and repeatedly killing is acceptable. Just annoy the hell out of him until he leaves.

Or just mute him in the players tab.

Pause game > players > gamertag/psn > Mute

There are though? When in the pre-match screen, can't you view players and mute them from there?

Nope, if your the host the only other option is the kick function. The only thing anyone else can do is view stats, send a friend request, or a message.

If youre on xbox just find them in the recent friends met tab in the menu that pops up when you press the big button and click mute.

Blaring Bob Marley or other types of Dub/reggae works wonders

Just turn off voice chat on your console or set it to headset only.

Hopefully they'll add a mute function in a future patch, instead of worrying about drunk clones, trying to attack you in your apartment.

I sarcastically engage them in conversation, asking them to tell me of their travels and tales.

IdK, the most you can try to do is get in their heads I guess. Voices over a certain pitch cause me to mute most of the time, especially when players are hard to come by.

I don't hear these small infants. When I play I always have headset disconnected, chat option set to "No One" and chat audio is set through headset. Therefore I never hear anyone, and they know it and many try to invite me to Xbox Live party, but I always deny the invite.

Go in a party on your own.

Sorted, you can still hear game but all Game chat is gone.

You're talking about "online" here, I don't know what kind of miracle shammy whammys you expect us to regurgitate. Have a headset where you can turn chat volume down and keep game volume up if you need to, I don't see any other solution. I always whip their ass that seems to shut them up pretty good.

I think it was supposed to be added in 1.11, it's just bugged. It's a bit hit and miss, sometimes I'm able to mute people in the lobby screen, but the majority of the time it won't let me.

"Party of one" transformed so many online shooters for me. Sure, I meet less people that way, but I no longer have to listen to homophobic, racist misogynist squeakers who are apparently MMA champion Navy SEAL snipers (and also awesome hackers) who know where I live and have done improbable things to my mother. If it turns out I'm playing with good players rather than morons, I can always invite them to the party.

If it's a ps3 you're on, switch on your microphone, set it to mute and chuck it somewhere. You can go through the menus and mute players too, but not in every game mode I don't think.

I pause> online> players> wait for squeaky to speak and mute him. Then I will let everyone else know they can mute and vote to kick the kid if they want.

Pretend that you're the kid's father and constantly apologize to the other players for his behavior.

"I didn't raise him this way - his mother dresses him like a girl and it's warped his mind."

"I knew I'd regret giving him an Xbox for Christmas, but he swore he'd only play Kinectimals and Lollpop Chainsaw."

Turn on your mic and attach it to its charger if you have a mic that can charge and be on at the same time. All the kid noise goes through the mic while you hear uninterrupted game noise through your speakers.

Personally if I hear a kid in a lobby I go after them until they leave. Last night there was a group of 3 squeakers. I really don't know why nor will I ever understand it but kids like to make random scream noises every 30 seconds and its very obnoxious. Call me the GTA Online Savior as I don't stop killing such tools until I hear "f*ck dis nigga ass game I quit" or "I'm going back to CoD!".
