Hey everyone,

I don't know how many of you listen to the radio, but I have noticed that there is a huge lack of bass in the radio, which takes away from my enjoyment of the music in GTAO/V.

I am 100% certain it is the radio which has purposely had it's bass taken out, because the game sound effects are at the normal level, and when I play the same songs that on the radio from another source (CD or Laptop) through my sound systems (TV->2.1 or Headphones), the bass level is at it's original balance.

I think R* should add a Treble/Bass (or preferably EQ) option in the sound menu, so we can listen to the radio with our preference of frequency balance, and while they are at it, they should add a global Treble/Bass option to the menu since not everyone has that option on their TV/Hi-fi/Headphones.

Anyone agree? Maybe they could adjust the audio quality depending on what vehicle you are (maybe even removing it for military vehicles and aircraft), but I think that would get old pretty quickly, especially since you can't outfit cars with audio upgrades in LSC except the Cavalcade 1.

I'm also going to be sending an edited version of this post to Rockstar's suggestion email and see if anything comes of it.

If you have a good headset I can see where you're coming from here. However, I've had my music volume on zero for months.

My headset has a godlike bass, so I really don't care.

But my problem is the balance of the bass overall, because even if I turn my Subwoofer up really loud to hear the music's bass, it's just drowned out by all the game sound effects bass (e.g explosions, crashes, helicopter rotors, vehicle engines etc.)

GTA Master 007

The music quality in gta iv and v are bad, but gta v takes the cake.

I play through a 5.1 Dolby stereo, so I haven't noticed any lack of bass.

GTA:SA had the best music quality in my opinion. And unlike GTAV, the radio stations played the full songs, if I recall correctly.

I use the spdif fibre optic out from the Xbox into the Soundblaster X-fi platinum on my PC and output into some Kef eggs KHT surround sound system, or my main Linn system and well, there's definitely no lack of bass, you must be using a really sh!t sound system because the audio from GTA V is absolutely stunning.

expecting deep rich bass from a TV or headphones ? lmfao

I haven't noticed but I only play my sound through sh*tty TV speakers and most of the time I'm on the mic so I don't pay any attention.

there is not a lack of bass, there is lack of frequency range of your sound system.I can feel the bass clearly while listening to Harm in Change by Toro y Moi

As I said in the first post, it is not my sound systems (I have a £200 subwoofer and good headphones), the bass from the sound effects are fine, and there is no lack of bass in any other games or audio sources, it is ONLY the radio in GTA which has hardly any bass.

OP must have the wrong audio settings...either that or he's using some sh*tty-ass audio cables

Tweak your TV audio setting.

I personaly don't really like bassy sound, so I'm perfectly fine. I had to customize my TV audio settings though.
