Sticky Bombs are not working...

I noticed a small discussion beginning on another thread about sticky bombs not landing or detonating, & I would like to add that according to my stats, every kill I made with sticky bombs yesterday (7), did not register in the Awards section.

 

You need 50 kills with the sticky bomb to get the platinum award, & I started with 31 yesterday, made 7 kills, & none of them registered.

 

I tried fooling around with it too ; using only 1 rather than the maximum of 5 at once, tried it out by suicide a few times, deliberately killing a friend, etc., & none of them registered.

 

Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions?

Yes, they won't count towards your awards if you have already killed a specific player with that weapon.

 

If you are in a deathmatch and you kill for instance all four players 30 times each with just sticky bombs, you will only get 4 points towards the award.

 

1 individual player = 1 point per weapon

That doesnt seem right. Looking at my total player kills and thenskins ive unlocked for various guns. There no way it tracks that information.

 

If rockstar can list the names of the thousand people youve shot with a carbine. It seems a bit screwed that they couldnt work out what was legitimate and what wasnt during the money sweep.

 

Sticky bombs are hit and miss thoughm I found that you only get the kill when the target is in a vehicle. And pretty sure yiu can kill the aame guy several times. As I went from silver to gold in a one on one fight against someone ages ago.

Nope, didn't work like that for me when I started collecting the platinum awards.

 

Stats say over 100 kills by sticky, yet I was only sitting with 30 odd for the platinum. That is what happens when killing the same person multiple times with the same weapon.

 

I could only presume it was made like this so that players didn't get friends to help them achieve the platinums so easily.

i actually got the sticky bomb platinum award yesterday .. so they do work..

The stat-tracking on the platinum awards is the number of human-player kills you have, while the stats in the "weapons" section tells you how many kills overall you have (against NPC & human players).

 

I'm not looking for conjecture, & while I doubt that was anyone's intent, I haven't been given a valid answer or accurate response, so please, those who read this & decide to reply, please only give information that can be confirmed.

Sticky bombs are not working right in this game,total bullsh*t.Yesterday I threw 4 stickies and pressed left on d-pad while a player was passing but nothing happened,my bombs got lost.Also,sticky bombs explode really too late,I press left but they detonate 5 seconds later.Then I got out of my car,threw one again,pressed left and it exploded instantly and killed me.sticky bombs are working sh*t in this game,absolutely annoying

I was about to start the same thread,I'm really pissed off,f*cking stupid sticky bombs don't work when they are needed but work correctly when not needed

You want an accurate answer yet you come to a forum? Why not just go to R* official site and ask there if our responses are not worthy of your reading.

It sucks & is annoying, but it's relieving to see something similar is happening with sticky bombs with other players.

I asked on this forum hoping someone could shed some light on the issue, not give a knee-jerk response that they didn't even look into.

 

If I have a troubleshooting issue with my XBOX, for example, I'll go to a forum or Twitter, because I'll get a quicker, honest, reply than from Microsoft.

 

I was looking for answers, not conjecture, or knee-jerk responses that are coming from people who didn't bother to look into it. This is evident by the false information they provided.

 

No big deal, it's a forum, & people are in love with themselves, & their opinions...I get that, but I want some communication with people who aren't like that, & I feel inclined to assume there's only a few like that.

My stats for stickies are the same.

It says 22 kills and I've killed at least double that.

 

 

I wondered if you have to be a certain distance away for it to register a kill?

So if you throw one at someone in cover close by in a gun fight or out your car and immediately detonate it won't be counted?

I was hiding on a rooftop & sticky bombed the ladder leading up to the roof with one bomb, & watched the victim go flying ; no registered kill.

 

I was on top of a bridge, sticky bombed the road below, waited for another player to come by, & blew him up ; no registered kill.

 

I drove my sticky bomb car into another player, killing myself & him ; no registered kill.

 

I drove a sticky bomb laced car towards another player, jumped out, detonated it, killed 2 players ; stat did not register.

 

This is new.

 

I've killed plenty of people from great distances & in several different situations, & always received a kill credit ; I'm obsessed with my K.D. Ratio & weapons stats, so I noticed immediately.

I can confirm that for the award with grenades you need to kill 50 -different- players. So I can only assume that this counts for the sticky bomb award, and likely all others, too.

Anyone else still having this issue? Just did mixed up with coke, stickies would not detonate with dpad. Post 1.12

Yes there is something strange after 1.12.

 

Noticed lots of my stickys failed to detonate after pressing dpad. Then later on when attacking armoured trucks it became clear they actually disappear completely. If I didnt hit the very center of the backdoors the stickys just disappeared when landing.

I tried to sticky one of my friends the other day. First one I saw land on the side of his car. He drove away and I detonated it just for it to blow up where he initially was. Second one disappeared altogether. Third one finally did the trick. Playing with Ezza last night and had a couple guys chasing us. All my stickies worked that time. It seems completely random for me.

I was having issues with them last night. I would throw them and then hit left on the dpad and all it did was turn my radio station.

i thought it was some kind of new hack. ive run across a few rambo type players that are almost impossible to kill. you cant use auto-aim on them half the time and sticky bombs dont explode. they just disappear.

 

i dont know if they patched this in the last update but if youre on the back of a motorcycle and hold a grenade until it explodes only you die. the driver and the bike will keep going like nothing happened.

About an hour ago, i literally had a 'non-working' sticky bomb. I threw one on the doors of the armoured truck, and press <-, but nothing happened.
