The military helping the police to stop a criminal!?

I was around Hookies with Trevor and saw some dudes from Lost, began to shoot at them. I been wanted and the police arrived to the shootout. I took a car and drove towards Los Santos to try to shake off the stupid cops. When I reached Fort Zacundo and the tunnel, I noticed that EVERY soldiers at Fort Zacundo became red dots on the radar. I took the decision to drove of the freeway and tried to shake off the followers on the dirt roads around Fort Zacundo. To my surprise, I saw a lot of military jeeps spawns around me and I tried to avoid a military jeep but at the same moment, a police car rammed my car so I lost the control and drove into a tree. Some soldiers steps out of the military jeeps and killed me on the spot.

This was a really annoying death. I've never seen this happen before that the military intervene police business and help them to stop a criminal in this game. Wtf?

R* wants to make this game realistic as hell but if you read this act "Posse Comitatus Act": "Its intent (in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807) was to limit the powers of Federal government in using federal military personnel to enforce the state laws." Um... What I've read about Fort Zancudo is that, this military base are not belonging to the National Guard but to the armed forces of United States, so this makes no sense at all, that the military intervene a police business.

This was played with the 1.12 update installed and the wanted level was only two stars.

Hmm. That's an interesting glitch.

You are correct, the Posse Comitatus Act is used in game play and means that (for example) if you are 'wanted' in the military base, the military will chase you. As soon as you step off the base, the civil police should take over.

It should never be the other way round.

This is not a glitch. Happened to me numerous times.

Every time you wander around Fort Zancudo with a wanted level, the nearby soldiers become hostile to you (red dots).

In real life, Soldiers would probably be ordered into a defense position and stand by. They wouldn't have fired at you unless you went inside the military base nut most likely they would aim at you.

Mister Pink

Yeah... I think any nearby emergency response unit, defence support would chip in and help if they seen their "comrades" in need of help or saw a common threat.

Yeah this has been discussed. Has happened since September. It's noted in the "Cool Things You Didn't Know About" topic which is pinned...

It was even discussed way back in July! http://gtaforums.com/topic/567426-the-army-in-gta-v/ (don't post in that thread!)

The clincher must be the wanted level although I don't understand how the game knows the difference between civil to military wanted as opposed to military to civil.

The same thing with the stupid security guards...

The police has lost the sight of the character so they're in a search mode, the character pass a ordinary security guard and the chase is on again! MF. :rampage:

This happened to me, I got a free jeep out of it too. I found it easy to get free of them, just get to a corner, jump out, take cover with your car and shoot the military with an AK or M16. Glad a Rhino didn't spawn.
