Lelouch The Zero
Games can definitely impact your console (Rampant heating (not overheating) and freezes for BF3, for example. Also, I remember TLoU causing some heating problems). I don't know if these'll effect a console long-term, though. Sounds like your console is on its death bed, though. Well if my Xbox goes out, I'm not sure what I would do. I love playing my Xbox a lot, or I used to until all of this crap started happening. So if my console dies, I'll probably find a job and buy a PS4 or something. Not sure what I'd do with all these Xbox games though. chrisscorsese88
How about a patch for oily texture for xbox360 version like this one? Turning your brightness almost all the way down will actually make the game look more high-definition, trust me. Voggs

What about your TV's brightness? The game's brightness might turned down all the way, but if your TV's brightness is up a little, it won't matter. If your TV's brightness is down too, then you need a new TV because no one else (that I know of) has this problem.

I have no Idea how long these TVs are supposed to last, and I have no idea if my TV is outdated or not. I also use my TV as my PC monitor, and I am looking at it right now as I type this. My TV could actually be the cause of all my low FPS on some games, as well as graphical glitches. But I'm not sure.
FranklinDeRoosevelt
Jesus, Sanyo? They are terrible quality of TV's. It's probable that you're TV is a bit old so its suffering problems. No offense. Get Samsung or Panasonic or even LG. Edited April 12, 2014 by FranklinDeRoosevelt
chrisscorsese88
The TV I use is Apex, and I don't have any problems. Just to let you know, LED's are supposed to last a lot longer than LCD's. Plasma TV's are supposed to be even better than both of those, but Plasma TV's tend to die quicker.

No offense. Get Samsung or Panasonic or even LG. 2010 isn't really that old. I have absolutely no problems with watching or doing anything on my PC when I use it for a monitor, in fact, it looks amazing for a PC monitor. And they aren't terrible at all. Also, I'm pretty broke at the moment, so your opinion isn't really helping me any. Tensa I doubt that that your TV could be the cause of low FPS Maybe not but I notice the FPS seems to be better on an even bigger TV like the one I have in the living room, which is a 32inch Emerson (I think). gta_fan28
On the troubleshooting section they say it's not the TV settings problem. It has something to do with the bit color.. Geralt of Rivia
Pretty sure TV's can dictate how much FPS you can see out of a game, but not how much FPS a game really has.

I've noticed this as well. I played the PS3 version first on my step brother's PS3 and I have never noticed any issues. The 360 version seems to have the most problems with the game. FranklinDeRoosevelt
The PS3 version has no problem whatsoever. I have one myself and ever since it came out, I had no major problems, apart from one or two bugs/glitches, which have been patched. chrisscorsese88
I'm pretty sure each version (PS3 and 360) has their own problems, like that infinite loading screen seemed to affect mostly PS3 users while the 360 has the random texture issues. freedom
How about a patch for oily texture for xbox360 version like this one? This is because the game runs at 16bit color depth. it's is not a bug or a glitch, it's by design to help optimize performance. So it almost certainly won't be changed in any patch. Also the brightness in the image you show is way too high, which makes the effect look really quite bad. You should try & calibrate your TV as best you can with something like "AVS HD 709", which is free set of calibration patterns.
gta_fan28
@freedom. So it's that it? There's no solution for this problem? I just wanna know why GTAIV and RDR doesn't have this problem?

Is't strange really - I've played more than 250 hours in that game on Xbox 360 and I have never encountered such a thing. Well it may be game problem (it still has stupid bugs), but first of all calibrate your TV properly and then adjust your brightness in game. That's all I can help
freedom
@freedom. So it's that it? There's no solution for this problem? I just wanna know why GTAIV and RDR doesn't have this problem? Yea there's nothing much else you can do. Rockstar implimented this to optimized the game. GTA IV & RDR didn't have this effect because that version of the game engine wasn't as demand. With GTA V they added new lighting system & more advanced draw distance & such. But like I said you picture is extreme. On my TV (40" samsung) it's certainly there, but not so garish. @freedom. That's all I can help If you can't see the affect at all you may have your brightness down too low. Even if you have it nicely calibrated you should still see patchy colours in dark/low light areas. Infact if you take a snapmatic picture of the effect ingame & then check the photo out on a computer via social club you should be able to see the effect still. Someone take a pic inside Trevors nightclub!!
