3 Best Sports Cars in GTA?!

Ok so I used to always drive super cars and after driving them a lot I'm like 100% sure that the 3 best super cars are Entity XF, Turismo R and Voltic, I know everyone wants to see an Adder in the top 3 but seriously it has the worst handling of all supers adder and bullet are tied in last place for handling, I chose voltic because even though its slower than the others, it has amazing handling, its the most compact car of all supers and being electric is super silent making it quite cool to drive around.

As for the sports I haven't driven a lot of them but now that the High End update will release soon I will have enough garage space to hunt for some new cars, I'm not a fan of off road cars and muscles (always like the fast cars I know very boring) so I'd like some advice on the best sports cars in the game. My guess right now from the cars I've driven and seen are Carbonizzer (sorry about the spelling), Elegy and the new Jester which have really good handling and are quite fast, please add or correct me if there are better sports cars than the ones I mentioned as my current top three, thanks.

On which planet are you living on, where the Voltic is the best. I'm guessing this thread is more opinionated than actual evidence.

This topic always goes the same way. Once people stop boasting about how well they do in their favourite sports car against randomsr, you get some facts. Unfortunately that point is never reached. You'll find some consensus of opinion in here but you have to do a lot of sifting to find it. Broughy's post pretty much nails the actualities of the class.

[email protected]!?! No f*ckin' way....people never stroke their ePenis up in here?

Why do I never see the Elegy at the top of the podium at the end of races then?

I see it there all the time. In fact, most of the time I'm the one driving it.

Yeah. How about Wolf and I race you, then you'll see the Elegy go 1 and 2.

You can't get 'evidence' here. One car, suits one person, but not another.

Try them all out on varied tracks and see what feels best to yourself, and gives you good times.

Opinions vary by person and car. Build your own opinion.

On that note, I'm faster in almost every track with a comet or carbonizarre. But add other racers with bumps and grinds, then the more stable cars do better.

For most random races it's not the car, it's the driver with Sports, they're pretty much all "OK". But some are definitely better if all else is equal - a skilled driver in an Elegy will beat a skilled driver in a Carbonizarre or 9F on most tracks.

I just won this one below last night, I definitely had the worst car on paper and it wasn't even that close - if I hadn't been noobishly looking behind me to clip a post on my flying lap I'd have shaved a few more seconds off no problem. Is the Banshee better than the Jester? No. But sometimes there are also other variables, Mr Level 538 there immediately rammed into me as we took off - he hit my rear 3/4 and span himself out, the Banshee didn't even jiggle. The first corner had the usual pile-up which I just about got through and after that plain sailing until I almost took myself out.

My next race was against a guy with a 350+/300 W/L record and we both had Jesters, I took the lead on the first corner by a few seconds but then he soon caught me up and the pressure of having him closing in behind me (with slipstreaming on) caused me to drive more erratically, this morning I was getting 57 second laps on CC in the Jester - in that race they were around 1:02! There are a lot of factors and there will be a lot of anecdotal evidence here. Racing will always be a bit random, if you actually test the cars out in a private session on a well balanced track you'll be able to see which cars are fastest for you and your style, if all is driven well then you'll still get the same contenders at the top.

For pure racing? Carbonizzaire -> Jester -> Feltzer.

No. The Elegy is by far the fastest, ignore stats and test those cars fully modded. It's not even "opinion", nearly all the fastest Sports car laps on most tracks will be held by the Elegy. I love the Carbonizarre and love driving it in free roam or for racing against randoms but it just isn't as fast when driven well as it doesn't have the rear end grip of the best cars, you can correct it easily but each correction you make costs time.

By all means set a fastest lap on a "normal" track (not a no-braking Route 68 type or drift track) with your Carbonizarre, post a pic and I'll mod up an Elegy (which I don't even like) and beat it. I don't even have to be confident that I'm even equal to your skill level as it's not close between those cars.

Lol @ "the Adder has the worst handling". Its actually one of the best.

People that usually say that are Entity fags, and can't drive.

On which planet are you living on where the Sultan is in the top 3 for sports cars? Not that it needs to be said again, but purely based on car performance, and not driver performance:

Elegy

Jester

Feltzer

Not been much of a Sports car owner nor racer. But I recently made enough dough to buy a Feltzer, Carbo and Jester. Love the last two, but Feltzer didn't last long in my garage- but it may return. The Carbo is my fave car and I've even won a couple of races with it- which surprised me somewhat.

I've had a Sultan for a while but never raced it... fun in freeroam though.

Never buy a Sultan for racing.

My favourite sports is the Jester atm. Raced in or against all the sports cars a whole heap of times. Jester stands out as a strong combination of a lot of different characteristics. I'd tag it as a cross between the Elegy, Carbs and Coquette but I think its more nimble than all 3.

Top 3 really is Elegy, Jester and Feltzer. We have a lot of very fast and consistent drivers in our crew and most people are less competitive when they drive cars other than those 3. A number of them have changed cars as a result of racing against better drivers. Some are obviously so stupidly fast that they can win in any car and choose to drive whatever they like but they're exceptions to a general rule.

Personally, I'll always drive cars I like rather than conform for performance reasons. I don't expect to win a lot of races against my crewmates, I just like to drive and chasing them is an education.

Here's a challenge to all those saying the Carbonizarre, Sultan, 9F etc are better for racing than an Elegy:

This morning I set a lap time on Cutting Coroners with a fully modded Elegy - 56.568. Now that's certainly not an incredible lap, it's decent enough but I could definitely do better with a bit more time and a better driver could get well into the 55 second bracket easily enough. Cutting Coroners is a fair track - it's flat, it has a couple of long straights, half a dozen 90 degree corners and one 180 degree one, it's a pretty balanced track all things considered. I did take a pic as proof but no point posting unless it's needed.

So challenge is set -

Beat a 56.568 lap time in any Sports car other than an Elegy on Cutting Coroners, simple.

If it's beaten I'll try and get a faster time, let's see how it goes...

^ No takers for those saying Carbo, Sultan, 9F etc is a better car than the Elegy?

I still win more races in my Banshee though... :D

Was your time set in a race with others or on your own? If with others, with catch up and/or slipstreaming on or off?

TBH I don't like Cutting Coroners enough to want to keep going round it to try to beat your time, and I am already fairly sure I couldn't (even in an Elegy!), but the time doesn't prove much without more detail.

Sorry, good point - I did intend to put that info in but forgot! It was a solo lap (of a 2 lap race - I should really just set it to 20 and take the best one!) so no catch-up or slipstreaming so that's important as it could really skew the results.

I know CC is used a lot as a test track and there are definitely other options, it's just a pretty fair starting point. I think many tracks are suited to certain cars with hills and bumps, lots of long straights or tight corners etc.

I still can't grow to like the Elegy despite its obvious performance - for my style I still find it can either understeer too much or snap into oversteer when pushing too hard resulting in a spin. I'm better and more consistent in a Jester if a second slower and same with a Banshee but around 2 seconds slower.
