I am trying to understand in which context this is meant. That the intelligent are belittled by THEIR stupidity? Or the less intelligent's quality of stupidity?

And for the most part, the people iv been replying to are more than above educated people. There are some exceptions though, me replying to you is an example. I'm not saying you are stupid, but for you to say me commenting in my own topic to people who aren't dumb, that's pretty stupid.

The mods really just need to bring the ban hammer down on the users who consistently go off topic, insult others or a baiting purposely. You wouldnt need to lock as many topics by banning those who get it locked.

 

I had a user follow me from thread to thread insulting me personally with no relevance to anything I posted. Same guy and it was always negative. Called me a murderer and a dumb uneducated killing machine many times. I reported him over 3 times, no reply from the moderators and he's still active on the forums. He eventually stopped when I confronted him.

 

But they're happy to lock threads.

Was it that Detroit guy who got real mad and started yelling at everyone that he was going to knock their teeth out after you posted pictures and dared tell people about yourself in his "Do you look like your character?" thread?

I applaud OP but at the same time discount OP, which is why i asked if this was an intro psych course. this is the internet, and you must remember your audience. Very few who post here have higher education and a majority are going to be below the age of the general threshold of university. any psych study of the forum members here would yield inaccurate and highly debatable results. :-]

It's impossible to tell someone's actual intelligence from such a trivial thing like a game forum...I really can't believe you're trying to pass an assignment using it as a sample.

I see your point. But my statement isn't an absolute truth. Not every inelegant person is quite. Collectively, most inelegant people are quite among those who are inferior to them. I am by no means smarter than anbody, I' simply stating my knowledge in a certain subject. Yes I go to college, big deal, the richest men on the planet didn't go to college. I have enough confidence in myself to know when I am right and wrong. If this wasn't my thread I wouldn't be commenting in it. But it is, and when somebody comments on it, whether or not they mean to, they are directing their opinion to me.

 

Also I already did the project and received an A on it. This was just something I did and thought others who are inelegant enough to understand might enjoy as well.

OP, the way you constantly attack posters with generalizations like "people such as yourselves" etc., when you know exactly nothing about them but what impression you get from a short post in your thread, kinda shows that you still got a very long way to go towards being as wise and psychologically trained as you quite obviously believe to already be. you give off an aura of juvenile arrogance that often comes when a slightly raised mental capacity meets a complete lack of dignity, self-reflection and knowledge of the human condition that isn't learned from books and other media, but from experience in interacting with real human beings.

 

as it is right now, it's probably best that you want to become a fire fighter instead of someone involved in dabbling with the human psyche. all those "entitled little sh*ts", who you deem to be the majority of children today and who would one day maybe become patients of yours, are definitely better off not being treated by someone with such little compassion for his fellow men.

 

some of the people you instantly categorized as trolls, instead of granting them the benefit of the doubt, or entertaining the thought that they might just be reacting to your post with a bit of lighthearted banter and/or irony, are some of the most respected members of this community who are, and have been for a long time, very dedicated to making this forum an enjoyable and enriching destination.

Take a look around; you really think that 80% of users here do & believe as their posts imply? No. They'd be in the slammer or the nuthouse. A lot of users like to get involved in the drama not because they're "dumb" or "foolish", but because it's, dare I say it, entertaining.

You're opinion is valid and I respect it. But I also want to remind you the people I am making generalizations about are the people I am specifically trying to filter out of my thread. Yes it is a bit 'juvenile' but that's my opinion on them, I don't judge there character, I judge there actions. I have no desire to become a psychologist, the subject just interests me. And the little shot statements was more comical then serious. I work for a lady worth multi millions, her children are entitled little prices who refuse to get her gifts for Christmas and mothers day because she didn't by them brand new cars for their birthday. I'm making a generalization to people I know, I do not know these forum members and I don't judge them by their character, but by their actions.

 

Your statement concerning maybe it's better I be a firefighter than a person who dabbles in the human psych shows that you yourself, are immature and judge me. Granted it is your opinion, and you are entitled to it.

 

The people who I have categorized as trolls are usually the people who are, I've said above that I usually don't comment on something unless it has depth, so me calling them that is not to them what so ever. It is my opinion on a matter and I keep that opinion to myself, except when I state that they are trolls in this topic, but I never used names so that is invalid.

You might have missed this above but I've stated before that I am using my phone that is not only tiny, but has horrible auto correct. So forgive me in my lack of perfect grammar.

 

You are forgetting that I am only saying this to solve the problem that people are having with the annoying topics, comments, and everything else. I get along fine, this is to inform them to not egg the people who are the problem on. Because some people don't know that, I will tell them that by making this post.

 

Also the college thing, I stopped talking about that and made a point that some of the richest people in the world didn't go to college. Those people can be included in some if the smartest. Just drop it I didn't sag I wanted praise for going to college. If anything I just said I was more informed because I am continuing my education. And that still doesn't even mean squat.

I agree with Friendly Lava Lamp, I've been coming here lurking and to get information related to GTA for a long time, but more recently what used to only take a few posts to find, now it takes wading through eight pages of sarcastic gifs, useless negative remarks and another ten on an off topic and f'g retarded argument to get to the useful information. It's still the site I turn to get information for GTA, but recently I've had to actually go to (shudder) IGN. I don't complain, I just wade through the BS.
