I know GTA 5 is known for each of the characters having special abilities, but I never really use them. More often than not, I use Trevor's special ability for his rampage missions but that's about it.

I use Franks religiously, I've been using Mikes a lot more after playing Max Payne 3 and seeing how awesome slow mo really is, and I usually forget Trevor even has one.

I voted yes but it was always extremely situational at best. Some times I'd be playing as Trevor cruising around in free roam and get in a moment where I really wish I was Franklin at that very second and miss out on his ability. Or other times I'll be Franklin in a firefight and wish I was Michael or Trevor. And again miss out.

So yes I've used them during the story but it never seems like I have them for the right time unless it's during a mission where it's scripted to be a certain character. Not being able to freely change from character to character while hanging out together in free roam really ruins the dynamics of this trio and their special abilities.

I use Franklin's and Trevor's the most, but that's still not very often. Franklin's is pretty handy when doing a drive by and obviously for precision driving as well. I only ever use Trevor's ability if a cougar or attack dog catch me off guard so that I don't get mauled to death, it's also good for surviving explosions.

I don't use Michael's very often at all, I do better without it. I guess if there's no cover nearby I'd have a use for it, but I've yet to find myself in that kind of situation.

1. Franklin

2. Michael.

99. Trevor

Trevor's is the most useless in my opinion. Michael's is cool but Franklin's has to be the best and most useful.

I use Trevor's and Michael's all the time. But I also spend most of my time in game in police chases and I reload upon a death. Something like 17 hours spent with a 5-star wanted level just on Trevor. So they are definitely helpful to me. Franklin's Ability is good and I like it, but I don't really need it often compared to the other two, as I have no issues driving without it. I use it more for the speed boost or drive-by if anything, though occasionally it can be a life saver.

Michael's ability is pretty one dimensional but Trevor's and Franklin's both have some utility, just with Franklin's being helpful in slightly less important things for me. Of course this is just with the way that I use them though, so it might be a bit different for others. But they're not helpful at all if you don't use them, so I suggest giving them a try if you don't. Once you get the skill maxed and figure out when and where to use them, they will extend your survivability by quite a lot.

I use them frequently, especially Mike's, because I like Max Payne 3. :p

I use Franklin's when I'm in a rush, and Trevor's when he is low on health, or when he's surrounded by numerous enemies.

I generally use Franklin's ability. Comes a lot of handy when driving. I use Trevor's ability during fights and explosive situations. I never really felt the need to use Michael's ability.

Yes (mainly the driving one), but I wouldn't miss them if they aren't in GTA6. I just want GTA6 to focus on the vehicles, a giant map, cheats, and the graphics. They got the fluid gameplay down and the story is always fine.

I totally forgot about special abilities until recently I started to use Trevors. Never used Franks and only used Michaels twice. Will try to remember to use them more because they are fun and useful.

Finished the story without them, because I always forget they exist. The game isn't hard without them.

I used Franklins the most. Occasionally Trevors too. Both came in pretty handy at one time or another.

Never really used Micheals ability. Maybe tried it once but that was all.

Didn't really except right in the beginning. Then slowly forgot about them. And felt almost like cheating using them.

Franklin's was kind of fun, but driving in slow-mo is just extremely boring, takes away all the excitement of driving fast and dangerously. Michael's kind of fun, but considering how little you have to shoot in this game if not rampaging against cops, it felt so unrewarding to cheat a few headshots that way. Trevor's ability to me was just immersion breaking outside of those rampage missions.

In the future, I'd maybe, just maybe, want to see an universal slow-mo for the next protagonist. Slowing down driving, shooting, whatever.

I use them rarely.

*Trevor's ability coming handy when I climb the stupid mountains.
*Franklin's ability is good when he is chased by the stupid police.
*I almost never use Michael's ability because I always forget about that when I come into a shootout with the stupid police...

Same. I think it's a lame feature, tbh. Same with three characters. Not a fan.

The most I use is Franklin's, either in races or in free roam when I go at high-speeds. Michael's is sometimes useful, but I don't really use it anymore after finishing the story mode. Trevor's is the most useless, I used to use it, but forgot about it because I don't go on free roam rampages with Trevor or do something with him where his special ability would be useful.

I sometimes use them, but I often forget about them, especially Trevor's. They're a nice addition but I'm glad that they are optional and don't play a major part in the gameplay, I think them being too integral to the gameplay would ruin the general feel of the game.

Well Franklin's ability is the only useful one IMO. Michael's and Trevor's abilities are just never really useful, especially once you beat the game. The three characters thing, I thought it was alright, but with just one character you feel more immersed in the experience and actually feel like you're that character in that world. GTA V doesn't really give me that feeling, San Andreas did a lot better of a job at that.

Well, you're right. I do use F's special but only in ONE vehicle. His Police Riot that I have on his helipad (so it respawns when I am done using it). I use it in the Riot so it makes driving at the airport easier on 5 star rampages. Cops are coming at me at all directions and it makes it easier not to run into any of them. I don't want to hit them cuz every little bullet and every little bump, will weaken the Riot and I am trying to go over 2 hours on a 5 star, which I already have. 2 hours 6 minutes to be exact. I also activate his special and shoot my gun from the Riot, too. Easier kills that way and quicker time getting to 5 stars instead of wasting endless amounts of bullets.

I dislike his special for other vehicles due to the fact his special makes you go TOO fast, and if the special meter bar runs out, you're gonna crash and die. I wish his special only slowed down time, but not SPEED up time once the special is done being used. So I usually just stick to driving without his special and learned to not really hit anything. However, I just booted up V for the first time in two or three weeks and had trouble with a lot of things. The controls seem to be a lot looser than GTA IV and the PS2 era games, all of which I been playing the past few weeks. Soon Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories will arrive (PS2 games) and I will be back doing those to 100%, lol

Yea if I see I'm about to run out of Franklin's special and I'm doing 100mph+, I'll just slow myself down while still in the special, and once it does run out, I'm only going about 40mph. I've never noticed how different the driving was compared to the PS2 games I've played since my good controller stopped working and while I do have one that kinda works, sometimes it won't respond unless I hit the button real hard so I haven't really been motivated to play them recently.

I personally think Trevor's ability helps the most especially when you "afraid of death".
