GTAF Post-Apocalyptic Roleplay Game!

Alright, I was thinking we could have some fun roleplay here. This is my first time doing this, as I'm sure it is for many of you, so we'll do our best I guess! I'll be keeping this very open-ended to cater to all tastes. (The rules will be covered later on in this post.)

Plot:

Yesterday, you were living your life as usual. This morning, however, you have woken up in a strange hospital room along with, as you will soon find out, a bunch of other people and other creatures from all walks of the universe. Your direction is lost, and the only thing that is clear is that you are the only sane survivors in a post apocalyptic wasteland. As you move along and try to find a way home with the others, you'll find out more and more about the mystery.

So if you want to join, you will need a Character. The guidelines for character selection or creation are very large - you can be any fictional character you want, from any TV show, movie book, comic, etc. Though there are a few boundaries that must be set:


-Your chosen or made up character shouldn't be unfairly overpowered. I will be the ultimate judge on if a character is too overpowered, but just use common sense and you should be fine.

-Your character must not be an antagonist while roleplaying. What I mean is, your character cannot be the main force against the players. Of course there will be conflict with the characters, but evil must not be your character's main motive. All of the characters have the same goal: to survive and make it home.

As long as your character meets these guidelines, I don't really care who you choose to be. Hell, you can be Barbie if you watch that and know the character well, but try to stay serious and in-character throughout the roleplay.

Feel free to create your own character if you like, but be sure to add details on them. Not too many details, though, as you want to leave room for character growth.

-Some details on the character. Just a little appearance summary or picture so people who don't know what your character is can invision them.


Rules

I'll try to keep this pretty layed back, but there are a few rules I must lay down to keep things organized.

-STAY IN CHARACTER when roleplaying. This is an absolute must. You must know your character well and how they would react in certain situations. If you are playing as an original character, try not to make them too crazy or goofy.

-When you are roleplaying, make your text a different color from when you are talking out of character. Example:

...Holding her blanket tightly to her chest, Susan tiptoed across her dark room and gazed down the hallway...

I will be in the mountains for the weekend so I won't be able to post.

-Don't god mod. This means controlling other people's characters, being unfair in conflicts, or other general asshatery.

-When posting your character, put "roleplay" at the end of your post so I know you read everything.

-Just use common sense in general.

Alright. So once we have all of our players joined the game will start. Please, if you have any advice please do give it. This is my first time doing roleplay, let alone hosting one, so I'm sure I messed up on something. Any questions also ask here.

I'm actually going to change it, now that I think of it. Hang on....

 

Edit: I changed it. Now, you can be any character you want, as long as they're fictional. No restrictions. That opens up lots of different things that are "aware" of our society, such as South Park, Family Guy, movies based in our society, etc.

My character is a man who, at the fall of civilization, was performing at a children's birthday party as Barney the Dinosaur. When he awakes in the hospital room, he finds that the zipper on his costume has gotten stuck, and now he is forced to wander the wastelands as Barney, who's name he has adopted. Barney has increased bluff chances due to his fearsome appearance, which can allow him to fool some wasteland creatures into thinking he is an actual dinosaur. Character sheets below submitted for dungeon master's approval.

Description: Backwoods redneck who uses a crossbow as his primary weapon but is also proficient in firearms and hand to hand combat. Also a proficient tracker/hunter and survivalist. But the years of isolation in the woods have taken their tole adn he is a little socially impaired and has some anti social tendencies. Basically a cross between Daryl Dixon and Trevor Phillips. Can have a short temper if provoked.

I'm going to wait a bit for anyone else who wants to join, but once we're ready i'll describe the setting and starting situation to start everything off. I also added my character to my earlier post.

Third person sounds good. We will probably forget who has which character so It will be better to say stuff like "Greg walks through the door and scans the room....."

Species: Feline
Where your character is from: Oliver and Company, based on a novel by Dickens, but I'll try to ignore that because I really hate the novel. New York City if you meant it like that.

Some details on the character: Orange. Mostly a good guy, but he can get ferocious if you're a jerk.

 

 

(There's probably way cooler characters, but there was an rp where this was a popular character, so that's easy to refer to in case I can't think of anything. Also I really wanted to be a cat.)

Originally from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Daniel Plainview was born to Ernest Plainview. His mother's name is not known but it is known.. He has a sister named Anabelle. Daniel worked for the Geological Survey in Kansas for a time before establishing himself as an oilman.

 

 

 

 

 

His last words before an entire oil rig fell on top of him in a rural Texas countryside were "I am the Third Revelation! I am who the Lord has chosen!" He was immediately sent to a hospital and as of this report remains alive and in stable condition, despite a fire having engulfed the lower portion of his body for more than thirty minutes before paramedics arrived.

Alright I decided i'm playing

 

Name: Rolf RIkarian

OCCUPATION: Space Pirate

Species: Half Mexican Half Norweigan

Home Town: Culiacan, Sinaloa

 

He's basically a laser wielding gunslinger with handsome features, a chiseled chin, and high cheekbones. Rolf's uncanny wit usually gets him out of most bad situations but he also has a gun and is not afraid to use it. If he's pushed his aim is quite deadly and fearful to all opponents. When he's piloting his rig (A series 4950 "Sultan" space privateer trader, 50 tons) he's equally skilled at combat maneuvers and navigation. But it crashed during the apocalypse so his current grand quest is to repair the ship but it's not going to be easy. But i'll save that plot twist for when we get in character.

 

Also i'm putting in an application to get approval to play his NPC sometimes (Not to fight or anything just to talk and put in the pose) Jean-Luc Dickhard, another intergalactic space pirate.

Rolf had no idea why his space trader ship had crashed and he was in the hospital. There was no way he'd know about the vicious skirmish that happened with the Lrican Dynasty forces and what happened @ his cargo that he was carrying for the Crime Lord of Delphina V. He had no memory at all. But he was wearing a calssic spacer's garb and had his laser blaster pistol gun at his waist, held ready for a traditional cavarlyman's draw at any who would dare cause a problem.

 

Even in the hospital one cant be too careful. ANyway he made it out of the hospital and got into the wasteland with the bright sun from Televon III blinding him. He instinctively reaches at his spacers sunglasses and he can't even find them. His eyes squint at the bright light and he searches feverishly at his cargo pockets that he might find them.....

Greg awakes in the hospital room with all the freaks. He then reaches for his trusted flask he kept on his back left picket only to find its not there.. He then vows to find it again. He then starts to dig through cabinets looking for it and then decides he will probably have to find it in the wasteland.

Species: Velociraptor

 

A velociraptor with laser miniguns(!!!) mounted on his back. He's like Scoobydoo in that he communicates with whatever mouth noises dinosaurs used to communicate, but other characters understand him anyway, and also gets scared easily and eats hilariously large sandwiches. One day a group of hippies, after travelling back in time for some reason, found him and adopted him, taking him back to the future- I mean, the present- to drive around in a van smoking pot and solving mysteries. Shortly after returning from the past, all of the hippies were found dead and eaten and Brosef is being framed for their murders, but he knows he is innocent. How he grasps the concept of human justice is anyone's guess Then the apocalypse happened and that plotline was dropped. Nobody really knows where the lasers came from.

Barney's head had never hurt so bad.

 

His last memories before waking up in the hospital gave no clue as to how he had ended up there. It had been just like any of the other birthday parties he'd worked before. Sure, maybe he'd had 1 to many before donning the outfit this time, but he'd never blacked out and awoken in the hospital.

 

After buzzing the nurses several times (difficult to do with mitten hands) he made his way out into the hallway. Not a nurse in sight. In fact, the place looked thoroughly ransacked. What the hell happened here?

Tingle awakens, his pupils quickly turning into minuscule dots at the sight of the bright fluorescent lights hanging above him, planted within the dull grey ceiling tiles. His skimpy outfit, once a brilliant bright green, is now a dark brown, covered in dried blood and various excrements. The small wisp of black hair on his chin is tattered and torn, and the clock around his neck is battered and broken. He lifts his small body up, looks over his room, seeing various bodies of varying shapes and sizes, and hides under his sheet.

 

He waits for a moment, maybe two, and slowly crawls out of the odd lump he used as a bed. All this is unfamiliar to him, with his whole life being spent within the boundaries paradisiacal Hyrulian universe. He darts in between beds, looking for a door, and reaches for the handle.

 

Forgot to mention that Tingle is an excellent map maker according to the LoZ series. Keep that in mind.
