Highest Diveable location on GTA Online

Why does my character tend to belly flop rather than perform the dive animation?. At low altitude he will dive, the higher he is he just flops to his death....

I can't get my guy to dive over a certain height, and it's not that high.

OK i will try this, also a parachute is on the characters back even though on foot. Anyway to disable this?

press select go to accessories then at the bottom it say parachute on or somethin like that set it to off

^^^crazy dive. Nice vid. What i meant was not that my chute is equipped, but when i jump the chute wants to deploy not allowing the dive animation. Any buttons you need to hold while performing this?

I'm a huge fan of diving/ "wingsuiting"
i always dive down Mt chiliad with my chute equiped, pulling it off at the very last second, i can now make it either to Alamo sea or to Paleto in one jump.

Best is a chopper will always spawn at Paleto Police Station

It's not really diving I guess but I have jumped out of a helicopter, pulled the parachute, cut it, and then fell into water and survived from pretty high. It is possible to do.

What about from the top of the Merryweather covered dock? Even if that's too high, there's still plenty of areas inside where you could probably dive from.

I saw earlier in this thread that people are arguing that it's not BASE jumping because you need to do it with a parachute.

 

What if you have a parachute with you while you do the jump but don't open it?

Make a jump first using your chute to get rid of it. Then go for the dive. If you come there by heli you can just parachute out and land on your jump location and your chute will be used. You will get a new by changing session, getting in a airvehicle or if you buy one at ammunation.

I have done that and survived with red health. But maybe didnt have health stats maxed then and problaby also with a chute equipped. Also this was several patches back incase something changed. Think I heard something about dive height mentioned before. Anyway without chute it shouldnt be a problem if just the water is deep enough. Same for inside.

I think if u climb on the outside of a cargobob and a friend carefully brings you up into the sky, your character will dive off of the cargobob into the water. I've tried this before and it works. I just don't know if rockstar patched it.

Buy a Bestra, call it at Pegasus, fly super far in the sky then jump out.

There you go, the highest diveable location.

 

Except that you die when you hit the water because at this speed it's just like crashing on asphalt.

 

Edit: I take it back, I want to try that trick with the Cargobob shown in the video.

 

Feel free to do what I said earlier if you want to do the hardest flat ever made.
