How much cash do you drop upon death if you hold circa $550,000 in cash?

 

I ask because after about 10 hours of gameplay and a loss of $200,000 I realised the money Rockstar left for me post Cashgate was never banked.

I'm under the impression that they patched it a while ago so that you could only drop around $500 max when killed.

 

Not sure, need clarification.

 

Also, banking your cash doesn't actually stop you from dropping money, I believe.

having cash is pointless, even if you have less than $5000 you'll still drop cash when dying

and its more annoying as a high level as you'll drop $500 each time

Oh right. I get those messages all the time about banking cash, I thought you actually dropped a large chunk of it.

Yes I do. That was all free roam till I played RR.

I bank my cash as soon as I get it, else some asshole or cop kills me and I leave $500 droppings around.

i never bank my money as for some reason my game wont take money from the "bank" when trying to purchase ammo or use some services like lester or lamar.

 

so i always go with money in hand otherwise ill get the "buy cash card from ps store" prompt.

I thought all my money was banked so that $0 was my cash balance to me. Hadn't played since Cashgate. And it wasn't all deaths I bought the new gun, an Issi and had three tank rampages.
