Being Idle Too Long

It's so annoying and pathetic when we get kicked from our own sessions for being idle too long. Does it really matter if we go idle for a bit? Maybe some of us might have something to do like make something to eat, go and eat, use the phone, answer the front door. Meanwhile Rockstar act stupid and kick us for being idle too long. I thought the point of kicking was to remove arseholes from a session, not us for being idle too long even from a private session. Rockstar really need to remove that auto kick.

they did the opposite... reduced it from 13minutes to 8minutes30seconds after you get the first warning message. at least for me it's like that since a couple of days ago.

I think being kicked is something to welcome. Yeah it may be annoying, but server space is HOT, especially with a game like GTA. R* would rather have 1 character slot in one session be reserved for someone playing, rather than someone idle.

 

If it really bothers you that much, then use a rubber band around one of the sticks

I posted about this yesterday. It used to be 15 mins from controller down i think, first warning at 13 mins left.

It was overnight 2 nights ago that this happened as in-between being kicked for being idle the first time at around 1a.m. the messages still said 13mins left. After waking up, when I pressed x to get back on, I then set the controller down whilst I cleaned up all my herbal stuff before the kids got up. this was at like 6a.m. and the first message that popped up was 8mins30secs left.

So yeah, they even reduced the time you can be idle. Can't even get a BJ before I get kicked now FFS lol.

You have no idea how many idle people there was in Red Dead Redemption. You'd see two or three guys in a field, easy kills but you'd have a full server with 1/4 of them inactive. I think the kick is welcome. Just place your controller down with the right thumbstick pushed in (just place it on the floor or a table/couch with the thumbstick pushed in a direction). I do that when I want to have a quick bite or check the forum. I spent like 2 hours like that so I could listen to the radio (was already in online so didn't bother going in Single Player).

Just watch tv in your APT and you wont get kicked. or yeah the rubber band trick works great and you can use ot to boost stealth as well.

Do you have any mechanical solutions for getting cars from SP to MP, I have a bobby pin, scissors, a paper clip and some glue at my disposal.

I noticed something - I go idle a lot (invite-only) as I'm usually doing maintenance around my house...found that, if you know you're about to go idle, go play a round of solo golf. I went to go get my kids from school (takes usually about half an hour), and when I got back, I wasn't kicked for being idle for too long.

 

Oh, also, since someone else said something about it's easy to get back into a session after you're kicked...yes, it is, but if you're like me and do invite only a lot, when you're kicked for being idle, then go back to it, you're put back into public lobbies.

either use the buzzard method from crystal clearout or the Epsilon mission method.

 

we also use something similar to below when we are running tanks. just have something another vice on the fire buttons and just aim it at LSC in the courtyard and keep firing while u go make a sandwich or look up websites etc.
