RodneysLeftNut
GTAV honestly should of had different fighting styles for each charecter. For example Trevor is bit more insane and violent so he will stick to headbutts and such. Franklin is a thug OG and will go for that quick KO beatdown gangster esque fighting style. Michael is a bit more old fanshioned and will fight more cleanly then the others. What do you think about diffrent fighting styles for each character? I'm sure that they all use the same fighting techniques. Â Not necessarily. I would of at least liked the exact same moves with different animations instead of all the same even for GTAO charecter. Â Sorry, I read the OP incorrectly. Â I agree with your idea. R* should have given each of them a unique fighting style. The character's are different, and that should also have been shown through their fighting techniques. RodneysLeftNut
I honestly got tired of the same 3 moves over and over. GTA4 even had better fighting system. almost 85% of the peds dont fight back and when they do they just get 1 hit KO. Xerukal
It would've been nice, yeah. Something similar to the fighting styles from Saints Row 2, perhaps? Â Trevor could have some fast and brutal-looking moves, since he's so jacked up all the time. While Franklin would have slower, more hard-hitting punches due to his muscle. Not sure about Michael, though. Â Like a heavy (F), medium (M) and light (T) type of attack scheme for each protagonist. I would of at least liked a custom fighting style for the GTAO charecter. I always imagen'd my charecter to fight like rocky.
Zee
That wouldve been great, and you'd have thought they would want to do that, but to do so wouldve probably caused another year delay. RodneysLeftNut and Niobium

Trevorphilipjfry
When in beserk mode, Trevor's got some pretty brutal melee attacks. There needs to be more counters though IMO. Does anyone remember San Andreas where you could learn new fighting techniques? Luuk' and Detective Phelps
ClaudX
Trevor was in the air force at some point, so he must've gone through a type of basic training. Rockstar could've given Trevor moves that he would've learned in the air force.

His punches could be a bit beefier
Trevorphilipjfry
Are there any counters or disarms for when you're fighting someone with a weapon?
Tycek
Let's be honest, the fighting in that game is so easy it's not even funny (one hit instant KO?), so adding different styles would be waste of resources. Niobium
RodneysLeftNut
Are there any counters or disarms for when you're fighting someone with a weapon? I think there is 1 but no disarms. The counter move is where you dodge then do that retarded ass 1-2 punch.
ClaudX
IMO, IV got the fighting system right. It felt like an actual fist fight, with the opponent swinging punches and dodging them as well. In V, it's a one hit KO, so there's no satisfaction when trying to fight an opponent. Niobium and RodneysLeftNut

Trevorphilipjfry
I actually found V's fighting system be quite good, it's more free from an you can take on more people at once. And it's pretty hilarious when you're chasing people an you hit them, especially in crowded areas
RodneysLeftNut
I also hate that warp effect where you run up to someone 14 feet away and hit them its so weird. FromBrnoCity
Before the release of GTAV I have been thinking on this a lot...and was quite surprised when I just found out they have same fighting style... it's kinda sad because when you will just think about how each character is so different, not just with age... but personallity, style of living and so more, so they really should put the differences in this. Poor thing. Played as Trevor and knocked someone by a head butt, didn't even know u could head butt. You acutally can't do that if you just want.. they're making it during the fight.. I wanted to do same.. just simple head butt, or slap.. Edited April 8, 2014 by FromBrnoCity
EM_JAY_86
I agree with people saying IV had a better fighting system, the counters were brutal, (two shin kicks to the plums being my favorite). The only thing V had that was an improvement on IV was being able to fight against multiple attackers.

The number of "finishing moves" in the game add a lot of variety, though; you've got everything from a punch in the balls to a Glasgow kiss (look it up) to straight up slapping someone so hard they're knocked out, and so on.
