ClaudX
I know that GTA VI will be a long time away from now, but should Rockstar implement special abilites like in V? I think that they should not. Rockstar has already covered the 'basic' special abilities, like slowing down driving, shooting, and your classic 'rage' ability. Rockstar would have to be really creative to make a new special ability that wouldn't be recycling. Also, in the previous games, we all survived without special abilities. In the previous games, we had to rely on our own skill while driving and during shootouts. Personally, I only used Franklin's special ability in V (just so I could get a gold on certain missions), but what do you think? Would it be a welcome return? Tycek
I think they are simply unnecessary and they didn't change the game that much as some people were predicting. I usually forget to use them when I should, because GTA is not the game I would seek things like that. Driving was easy enough without any abilities and the Michael's weren't needed that much. Trevor's could be cut, without losing much to the game itself. Edited April 8, 2014 by Tycek matajuegos01 and B Dawg

LukeMeyer11
I think they should but with more or less need to use. I went the whole game with out using special abilities... Until "Dead Man Walking" one of Michaels missions I didn't even know the game had special abilities. But I'd like to be able to have an ability where time stops and you mark and execute. Real_Badgirl
I wouldn't be devistated if they don't come back. I hardly ever used them, except for the very few times where you're required to do so.
El Zodape
They used them as a way to balance each character and give you a reason to switch from time to time. Â I don't care about the powerups as long as they find a way to balance each protag. Â Also, I don't like the fact that they made the powerups necessary during gameplay, rather than just giving you a little help. Like, if you don't use Franklin's slow mo you'll probably get f*cked by the first FIB van, or if you are surrounded by cops, you won't escape unless you have Trevor's invulnerability. If you are Michael, you are f*cked either way because his special just sucks.
Vanto
As Tycek said, special abilities doesn't change much in the game. I don't really mind them returning. Edited April 8, 2014 by Vanto
universetwisters
I REALLY hope not. With all the special abilities in V, it fel like my protagonist was some sort of superhuman with all these abilities over other regular people in the series, which pretty much ruins the immersion for me. I'm a person, not a superhero. matajuegos01

HOW'S ANNIE?
Really depends. If they bring bacj multiple protagonists I could live with it. But when/if they revert back to one protagonist no way in hell should these abilities return.
Gtaman_92
Having the special abilities was what made micheal, Franklin and Trevor unique. I perfer if it does not return in future GTA's.
Midnightz
Yes, but do it differently. I only used Franklin's in tight traffic and Trevor's when trying to preserve my life just long enough to escape/take cover. Â These aren't really much different than previous GTA games' adrenaline pills. Â I would add all three into one, same command to activate/deactivate. Drunken Cowboy
People gotta propose alternatives... Michael's was flat-out useless. I'll gladly say that. Unless you needed to chain three headshots (which is about all you had time for) it was decent, but with the powerful guns and auto-lock, it was pretty useless. I liked Franklin's... A lot of people said it wasn't needed very much (which I guess was true, but if I felt cheaty and wanted to turn a corner at 200 miles per hour) especially with the Saints Row "Every car is a super car" handling in GTA V. Trevor's was flat-out over powered. The info prior to the game's launch said he had double damage and double HP for a short amount of time. I could see that, but the invulnerability and semi-bullet time was ridiculous. Â I don't know, I liked the idea, like most things in GTA V, but the execution was bad, like most the things in GTA V. Anyone got ideas for other special abilities?
Tycek
I believe all of them should be cut and replaced with something less intrusive. We already got example how it should work and look. Since Franklin was repo man and was boosting cars he would have the option to quietly open the car, which lowers the possibilty to be spotted by the civilians/police. How the hell young man from the hood can slow time during driving? He wasn't proffesional race driver, which could explain something like this for example. Â Michael is bank robber, not a soldier or mercenary to have some slow motion during shootouts, and while Trevor's ability fits him is overpowered and brakes the balance of the game. LukeMeyer11
I kinda liked Michaels abillity aswell as Franklins but Trevors made ut feel like a cheat not a part of the game. I remember when I was playing as Trevor and jumped out of my plane and activated his ability and hit the groung without dying. I never uused it again cos' it was WAY too unrealistic for GTA V
Tikhung
No, it would be lame, too easy and unrealisitc. Like wtf i was playing as Trevor, activated his special abillty, used an RPG and shot into a car. The explosion didn't affect Trevor at all! Adrenaline pills should come back, only this time you could buy them from drugstores and use them with L3 + R3 wherever you want to slow down time and increase health and muscle performance for a short time
