GTAV Title Update 1.12 Notes

Recommended Posts

Most retarded changes:

- Fixed an exploit where a player could shoot water from the firetruck hose.

- Increased price when calling Lester to remove your wanted star by $100.

Those are not in the notes. Just wanting to be clear.

Makes you wonder though what good is a patch notes if they don't list everything they patch.

No they aren't for a reason. But they are real (at least the firetruck one for sure)

And it was a mistake? Bullsh*t. They hoped no one would notice it. HOW did they even screw THIS up? It's not like they had to change anything regarding the shooting mechanic of the firetruck.

So did they take glitched cars out of garages?

I'm hearing no, but no confirmation. I will have to check when I get home.

It looks like the firetruck no longer spraying water was a mistake.

If fixing things that are broken results in removing all your fun you are finding your fun in all the wrong places.

To each their own. There were a lot of people who loved bringing in cars from singleplayer. Besides the duping threads, this hit the MODified crew hard. They can't do what they liked to do anymore. It wasn't hurting anyone, so how was it any different than enjoying races?
Simply put...it is different because it is an exploit. I am sympathetic to people losing something that they found enjoyable but not everyone used it to bring in harmless vehicles. You can not seriously fault a company, who gets bashed daily for how broken and bug ridden their game is, for fixing a bug/ glitch/ exploit just because it happens to be one you enjoy using.I didn't use it personally, but I do feel bad for the many members who are affected by this. In the Spring Update newswire post, Rockstar did say that fun harmless glitches would be left.

In general, we are open to keeping unintended glitches in the game if players enjoy them and they arent causing any negative impact to gameplay or fairness in any way.

They also took away the armored car glitch. That one I will personally miss. We need less things taken out and more things added. And the bugs that are addressed should be the ones that are game breaking, like the console freezes. I'm not a cash card conspiracy guy, but you've got to admit that anything that can make extra cash or allow free cars gets a high priority.

Harmless is subjective. People brought tow trucks over that froze consoles. There are other vehicles also that cause problems. Hell how do we not know that any of these vehicles are not causing the freezes? Maybe there is something different in the coding of the vehicles and this IS in fact an attempt tocorrect freezing. We don't know...but the fact remains that SOME people used the ability nefariously.

Im not a conspiracist either but the fact remains that they correct issues that bypass what little economy this game has...yes...and they would do so even if cash cards did not exist. Otherwise they might as well remove money all together as it would have zero value.

Also hoping for another update Friday.

Well guess what? You'll have it

It will likely only contain files needed for the creator though. No other fixes and changes around the game. It is possible that they could add some new items in the process though to existing creator modes.

Another player destroyed my insured Buffalo, and the usual note came, telling me that he had paid about 75$ towards the premium. But when calling MMI, I had to pay 363$ on top of the other player's payment! WTF - partial premium payment? Is that new? I think the other player sticky-bombed my car, and we had had a gunfight before the destruction - is partial premium payment a new feature, or is it just new to me?

The other player probably only had 75$ in their account.

Ahh yeah, may be the reason. I'll check if it happens to me again later this evening.

So only the Lester cop ability is the only thing added to gameplay?

Twankers getting even more protection now. We can't even get revenge by killing them with the fire truck when they jump into passive.

And they still don't pay insurance. Just had my PV blown up by a tank when I wasn't even in it. I pay full insurance.

funmw2 said he's been using the capture creator, so it seems that it's already in the files just waiting to be activated. Which means it might not need a TU.

  • Players are now awarded more cash when completing Parachute, Races, Deathmatches and LTS jobs with less than 4 players.
  • Fixed an issue where players who had upgraded Personal Vehicles prior to 1.10 were only able to sell them for $10,000.
  • Fixed an exploit where players were able to use the Creator in a Free Roam session and spawn in objects or vehicles.
  • Fixed an exploit where players were able to use weapons within their apartment and garage to kill other players.
  • Vote screens now progress when a Job has received a majority vote.
  • Fixed an issue where players could be unable to reclaim their Personal Vehicles from the impound lot after being destroyed.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible for a player to receive hangs and long load times after completing several activities.
  • Fixed an issue where players were able to render themselves and the car they were driving invisible to grief other players
  • Fixed an exploit where players were able to disable Bounties placed on them

I can understand why some of you are upset, but I think you'll get over it. I might be in the minority here, but I think there's some overreacting going on here. Maybe some of you missed these bullet points, or maybe a few of these still "ruin the fun" for you (in which case just show what kind of player you are), but these are some pretty big fixes. I think because of the DLC patches we're given everyone expects every patch to come with missions, clothes, vehicles, or weapons, but whenever Rockstar makes a patch for Rockstar (that in the long-run is good for the game) they're going to get hate. For the record, there are things with the patch I don't like, but that's the case with every patch, but some of you seem to see a few things that leave a bad taste in your mouth and because of that any positive changes go entirely unnoticed and the patch becomes useless in your eyes.

Let's get real here, we got two good sized DLCs not long ago for free and in the near future are going to get what should be the biggest one yet, and this patch was to prepare for that. Calm your tits, urrvryone.

Luap, my PS3 once froze for almost ten seconds while chasing a bounty. Caught up to the guy as he entered Eclipse and he was driving the Cageless Mesa (only available glitched in from SP. There was only 3 or 4 people in the session as well.

Why all the hate for this patch?

I understand it doesn't add a lot, but it's probably just some bug fixing and stuff before the proper update comes out. Pretty sure I read that friday, capture creator is getting added, so..maybe more then too. Pre-update bug fixes.

On top of that, not many things changed to complain about. The only people that'd be complaining, are the ones using glitches and stuff to cheat. SP to MP, car duplication, etc. And in that case, you don't really get to complain about them removing those glitches. You knew very well they didn't want you using them. Obviously they're going to remove them.

Apparently they raised the price to remove a wanted level by $100? ...So? If you can't handle an extra $100 occasionally, I think you're doing something wrong. And as for the water in the fire truck, it's not on purpose, and will probably be fixed in the next update. Do people even use the water THAT much to complain about it? I didn't even know you could do it in this GTA. I never tried.

100% agree. All the good fixes in there overridden by OMG no firetuck water. Give me a break.

The only thing people are saying on the negative here is that the game freezing has not been addressed. No amount of additions will do much if you cant play.

On that note I would like to suggest that this is now your best hope at fixing this on your own. Deleting and redownloading the same broken patch is pretty silly...but if it is something in the patch that is corrupt, then deleting that and loading 1.12 has at least a slim chance of correcting the issue.

My plan when I get home is to scrap everything but my saves and reinstall it all with the new update and formatted drives. It may not change anything but it is the best chance to date.

And while that is interesting...it is a completely different " freeze" than what many other of us are talking about. Perfect example of why rockstar treats complaints about freezing with typical troubleshooting methods first. If you froze up for 10 seconds and then continued then that is just the game not keeping up with you. Like extreme popin. When I refer to a freeze it is a complete console lockup...and never comes back until you go reboot the console.

heres a little picture i made to sum up how i feel about the firehose drought, please like and share so rockstar may see it!
