I don't really feel like paying $5000 just to get a jet, besides i never had a problem getting them anyway, but what i did notice is there will be 2x more tanks and if you attack a marine that will give you your 4 star wanted level

meh I just got used to hopping over the fence and speeding down the runway to the one in the hangar. I pull way back on the stick and go out and over the hangar and into the mountains. more fun now that I got used to it lol.

I managed to hijack a tank inside the base last night, I was driving around clearing the troops so the other people could come and get the jets safely. Nobody bothered, so I just drove around a bit - checked the gates and they don't open, not even for Rhinos! lol

 

I had good fun, until about 4 tanks came after me at the same time from the south eastern part of the base.

 

Question: How the hell do you drive a tank out of the base?

 

I haven't needed to do this before I owned a tank until the weekend when all my Pegasus vehicles vanished...

Short answer; you cant.

 

Better answer, they merge through the wall so you can steal them outside the base As far as I know, they havent patched that glitch and thats how I got a tank before I bought one. Just spent ages driving back to LSC to use it haha.

If a cargo-bob spawns, then it would possible to remove the tank from the base - if you don't get shot down that is!

 

Just tried it, cargo-bob isn't spawning on the ground or tanks it won't spawn until you have a wanted level.

I never had trouble stealing jets but I can confirm you can get the jets to spawn normally with the new feature.

I've been shot down or blown up while getting into the lazer more times than i care to remember. My success rate of stealing a laser is something like 25%-33%

Apparently they don't spawn if you haven't got a wanted level, and they are really easy to get anyway, (provided the douchebag ai jet who flies faster than you with his gear out, follows you across the map without a wanted level, doesn't appear on the radar and makes you insta-dead when you get to close even if he didnt hit you, doesn't follow you.)

If you havent realized by now that flying in low in a heli, then flying out low wih jet doesnt spawn ai jet on you. And that tanks dont get you if you land right next to a jet while flying low. You are a fail. You should not be flying a jet because all you will do is embarass yourself when a real ace takes you down. Or when you crash into the ground tryig to take out a ground target. I was getting bored of gta now, now I have another reason to play. Thanks Rockstar for making this game easier for all the minors under 17 who should be washing there mommy's dishes instead of owning the game in the first place. Eventually tanks will have no reload time, move faster , unlock at rank 5 and it will be kiddie heaven. Rockstar needs to check their consumer base .

I called Lester first, jumped into the base from the ramp. No stars. Drove to the jet that has a fence on 3 sides of it with an armed guard next to it. Still no stars. Climbed I to the jet and fired off the machine guns. No stars. I then accelerate and hit the guard with my wing, instant 4 stars. Took off and got his by a locking missile and then a tank shell.

Fly in with a helicopter. You won't get a wanted level until you land. Before you land, use the ability.

I haven't tried this, but I don't see why it wouldn't work, unless they changed something else in the patch...

Well no, because everyone knows you fly straight UP to avoid the SAM missiles - DUMBASS!!! Lol, etc.

 

Just kidding, yeah - I fly in with the chopper, jump out (kill any nearby troops) grab the jet - then what I used to do is pull up and then immediately left to fly in a circle horizontally, thereby avoiding the SAMs.

 

This also works against lock-ons by the AI, but only if you do it in time - the missiles just miss.

 

I was told my a crew member who has more flying hours under his belt, and is a better figher pilot than me that you should immediately pull up and go vertically - and this does work, I tried it earlier.

 

Apparently if you do this it loses the A.I. pilot, but he wasn't around earlier when I did this so cannot confirm if this is true myself.

 

I remember I used to fly low when doing missions that involved 'borrowing' various aircraft from the base that were required, this helps lose the wanted level quickly so works as well.

 

So, there is no one right way of getting aircraft out of the base - my question is what is the right way of getting a tank out?

 

Is it possible without a cargo-bob, and without doing any glitches/hacks?

 

P.S. Tanks can and will get you even if you fly in low, IF they are already driving around the runway - they don't care how far up or down in the air you are - if you are directly in their sights they will take you out.

It was never really that hard in the first place. Everyone won't have them because when half the lobby goes to try to get them, they stop spawning because of lag.

 

I know, I never had a problem. That could be true about the lag because I've been in there when some friends and I and other were jumping in and grabbing them I went in and it was like a ghost town. real Weird

 

It's not like it was ever hard to get one. The main deterrent has always been the f*ck around getting there and you still have that. I don't really think anyone that is unable to get a jet without spending the 5000 is going to be much of a threat flying around in one anyway.

Ill try it again. I did it and the jets spawned for me. BTW, I jumped into the air base via the front entrance then turned it on.

Also, damaged my jet a little coming in for this landing, so I flew back to Zancudo in the jet and landed it on their runway, before scampering over and taking a new one. It was one of the easiest times I've had stealing a jet. So I did it again. New game for pros, how many consecutive jet steals, landing back at Zancudo, jet steals can you do in a row before being wasted? My record is only those 3 as I got wasted on the fourth try, but I only just invented the game, and I played it with a character at rank 13, I think I can do better.

I agree with you, it is easy.

You know, the only REAL problem I have with stealing a jet, and this isn't an issue with stealing the jet itself, but more so the incredible aim of the AI in this game, is that sometimes the military jet that starts chasing you out of the base can seriously BS you.

 

I've had those things shoot me AS I WAS BEHIND HIM.

Plus, sometimes their missiles(and this applies to players as well) are unavoidable no matter what kind of maneuvers you do. Don't know why

Plus, those damn tanks have somehow sniped me a few times.
