Are there any stats for tyres/wheels?

I know there have been many debates about tyres or wheels or even custom tyres and their effect on car performance but all the evidence always seems anecdotal, I've tested myself and am still unsure.

So, I'm wondering if anyone who accesses the game files like the ones with all the detailed car stats like drag, mass etc has ever seen any for tyres? It would be good for many of us to know so it becomes either an important performance factor or just gives us the freedom to choose what we like the look of! :)

There is no difference.

A game with physics this casualized, and you think tyres will make a difference?

Nope, just what the last guy said.. None of the tires make any difference, the only difference you'll see is that of the suspension when it comes to grip

Do custom tires make a difference?

Yes, the paint adds a little bit of weight, and it isn't as smooth as a plain tire so you get a little bit more drag. Ultimately it will slow your car down a bit. You'll notice it in a drag race against the same car without custom tires.

Well when you look at Broughy's "mythbuster" video he seems to think custom tyres make a difference and knocks something like half a second off a lap time with his test car, but the average times over many laps stay similar so again could just be a good lap.

I could swear some drive differently but without a robot repeating everything perfectly there's too much human randomness with any test so it's a bit hard to tell for sure. I'm not convinced on the custom thing but different wheel types obviously have different sizes and treads and I could swear the SUV wheels/tyres are more slippery than the Tuner ones for example.

Given all the detailed stats like these that Rockstar put into the cars it wouldn't surprise me if tyres made a difference -

But I don't have access to the game files so they may well not exist, that's why I asked the question...

They dont change anything. Its all just visual. That better round may be luck, as you know you cant repeat anything like you did it before, it eill always be different.

I ran a ton of tests when we had modded money and I'm convinced some tyres have different characteristics. It makes a slight difference, but I know which tyre help reduce understeer, and which ones help a little with oversteer.

Spend a few $'s - pick a car and try it yourself on each wheel/tyre type and make up your own mind.

Yeah, I've done that and feel it too, but there could be many reasons for that. Placebo, randomness, expectation bias (I work in the Hi-Fi Industry and am well aware of how much of an effect these things have!) - that's what I'm trying to get at, plenty of people seem to have access to the game files, I'm just wondering if there are tyre stats or not to solve it once and for all as this debate never seems to have been put to bed since launch.
