Rockstar's broken promises and other complaints I have

Rockstar said pedestrians would have a routine including shopping, a job and a home to go back to, pedestrians would dynamically mow gardens and sell homes etc.

Rockstar said random events would continue indefinitely.

Rockstar said the game would have driveable trains in free roam.

Rockstar said the strip malls would be enterable.

Rockstar said Los Santos would be bigger than San Andreas, Liberty City (IV) and Red Dead Redemption combined.

 

 

Also, why in the f*ck do the cops come after me when I shoot someone from a mile away with a silenced sniper rifle? Or detonate a bomb from really far away when nobody saw me plant the bombs or walk away, complete bullsh*t; this game is broken.

 

Another thing, I drive 30 meters away from a car I was previously in and it disappears? I hope sh*t like that gets fixed in the PC version.

The 1st star stands for a report, if you are seen speeding in the area, it makes you the prime suspect, next time just walk away casually from the area, also being black in rich neighborhood doesnt help at all. Its actually realistic, no racism intended in my comment. Cops do tend to suspect first on black or hispanic population,before than any other white john doe.

3. Did you even read my post? How would they know to go to the SPECIFIC place I was which was half a mile away when nobody saw me and i'm hidden?

4. They said these things would appear in the game on current generation.

1. I go very often, I love exploring. That's why I buy open world games, the underwater looks great, tons of work they put in. Again, it's not their fault that you're not exploring. That's why they make the maps as big as they do, so you can explore.

 

2. Like someone told you in the other thread, they exaggerate, every dev does it, but in the end they do have routines.

 

3. It's an explosion, you think the sound blast is going to be limited to that small space where it blew up? The cops go into the general area of where the crime was committed.

 

4. Again they do have routines, but when you follow the peds around you're not allowing them to despawn/respawn to their new destination.

When developers tell us stuff about their game, they're not talking about the finished product. They're telling us about their "to do" list. They don't come back and say "well, we couldn't add this or that". It's not really a broken promise, because no promises were ever made. It reminds me of people who are selling their game concept on Kickstarter. They just want backers and hopefully they can do everything they say, but it's not done yet, and sh*t happens.

This pretty much. The release was already pushed back at least once and it had already been 5 years. Plus last year is probably the final year the, I guess previous gen now, consoles would be relevant. Add to that the rather large list I heard of things supposedly cut before release, things we all were expecting to be in the game, such as vigilante missions, pool, air hockey, Qubed (or whatever that arcade machine game is) and more stuff, I'd say it's likely V wasn't finished but they knew they had to get it out. I'm sure they wanted to add all that stuff and flesh out more the stuff you said, but sometimes ambition doesn't come to fruition. I'm sure they figured it was time to cut their losses, tie up the loose ends, polish it up, and release it.

 

Overall I'd have to say it's a great game, of course it has some flaws, but what game doesn't. I'm just hoping if we're really lucky we'll see some of those things in some dlc down the line.

By not doing so you are just diverting the conversation to a topic in which you can actually argue or debate, seeing as you can't for your own points. Where is the evidence that R* said any of the things you listed? All you have done in this thread is insult people and attempt to coerce us into arguing with you.

Well before this thread gets locked I just wanted to add, wildlife are programed to act as witnesses to crimes. I'm not lying. It's true, don't ask we why it's like this, but I thought it was an important thing for you (and everyone else) to know that might help you out. Coyotes, birds, mountain lions, deer, I assume dogs and possibly even sharks count towards the AI recognizing you commit a crime, and therefore sending police response. I don't think the fish in the ocean do though, as they don't appear to be solid or whatever it's considered. As far as I can tell killing the animals themselves doesn't constitute a crime though, I know some have said that they have gotten a wanted level for killing a mountain lion before, but I'm not sure as I've never had this happen. Certainly made me stop feeling bad about squashing them canines though.

 

So next time you're thinking of stickyin' up your car, make sure that a coyote isn't peeking over your shoulder in a bush behind you, or your gonna get a wanted level. Honestly you might get a star for blowing up a vehicle no matter what, even if you could somehow get away from all possible witnesses.

He does make a point about the ped routines. Remember when it was said we'd be able to follow a gardener onto say a bus as they got in and find them in Vinewood Hills later that day working? I can't remember if this cane from R* themselves, but in any case this was completely exaggerated.

 

The most I've seem a then do is pull up in their car, walk and go around the back of a building to smoke.
