Arran B
I noticed there wasn't a topic dedicated to the recent death of Peaches Geldof, the presenter/British fashion icon and daughter of Bob Geldof, frontman of The Boomtown Rats and co-organiser of charity events such as Live Aid etc. So, how does everybody feel about this? The cause of her death is still unknown, and I'm not one for conspiracy theories but the whole thing seems a bit fishy..

Arran B
I never heard of Peaches Geldof. Where did the last name come from, out of wondering? EDIT: I looked it up on wikipedia, just wow. Her parents have odd names of naming their kids. "Little Pixie Geldof"? Wow. Her father is a rather famous musician and her mother was a television presenter herself, although she passed away in 2001 due to a drugs overdose. A lot of conspiracy theorists are already jumping on this one and concluding that Peaches unexpected and unusual death is due to certain ties with satanism and rituals. Personally, I have no idea what's going on. I am a believer in certain theories but this could just be another everyday death that simply just occurred. But yeah bro, very unusual names seem to be the theme of this family.. From Wikipedia: Fifi Trixibelle Geldof (born 1983) Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof (19892014) Little Pixie Geldof (born 1990) Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof (born 1996)

From Wikipedia: Fifi Trixibelle Geldof (born 1983) Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof (19892014) Little Pixie Geldof (born 1990) Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof (born 1996) I legitiametley wonder who thinks it's a good idea to name their kids those names. Does it look "cute" or whatever when you talk about your kid to people, or does it look cute when your oddly-named kid poses for their kindergarten class picture? Maybe, I wouldn't know since I never had kids. But how do you think those names would look when they get older? Let's say that Fifi Trixibelle chick or that Little Peaches girl try to get into a university, or apply for a job. With a name like that, they'll be laughed off of campus, or the office, whichever context you want to use that in. They should warn every parent of that possibility before they sign their kid's name on anything.
lil weasel
So the names are odd. Now-a-days, Egbert, Hilda, Prince, Blanket, Uma, Flower, et cetera http://www.babycenter.com/0_unusual-baby-names-of-2013_10388919.bc It's a name how about requiring a specific list of 100 'proper' and approved names controlled by the Registrar of births, like Michael2456? Geldof died aged 25 at her home in Wrotham, Kent and, at the time of the confirmation, the Kent Police statement read: "At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden". Bob Geldof said in a statement, "We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. We loved her and will cherish her forever." Several celebrities including TV host Phillip Schofield, singer Lily Allen, and actress Helen Flanagan offered tributes to Geldof. Mr. House
Let's mock the name of a girl who has just suddenly died at 25. Stay classy guys. Abel.
GunWrath
Don't think that's mocking but more of a question. Some names are uber weird but like Doc said, I think it's because people want to be more original. There was a little black girl in my nephew's class acouple years ago named 'Diamond Ruby' as her first and middle, pretty odd but eh, there's worse names out there. I never heard of this chick but that's a shame to die so young.
Kirsty
Yeah she's only really famous for being the daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, although she did other things like modelling but I don't really know much about her other than being in the news for being one of these 'socialites'. She probably didn't have many fans like most young celebrities don't but f*ck all that, it's no age to die at all. Especially when you're thinking things like 'oh what a great age he lived' when reading about Mickey Rooney dying at age 93 today as well, then you see this girl who's younger than yourself and leaves behind 2 very young children. Such a waste and a shame for the kids most of all. But I guess this happens all the time in the real world and only the celebrities make the news. Sad to reflect on. Harley
What a shame. It looked like she got her sh*t together when she became a mother. Btw in regard to their names, with surnames like Geldof they'll have no trouble getting jobs and such in the UK. Acehilm

Abel.
Regardless of whatever you think of celebrities, a young woman dying and leaving behind two children is tragic. It's woeful that conspiracy enthusiasts (calling them theorists does a disservice to theoretical physicists everywhere) are already trying to "explain" her death by means of alleged affiliation with Satanic rituals and such. Pyrrhic
Where did the last name come from, out of wondering? Her dad is the legendary Bob Geldof! And her sister's dad is the legendary Michael Hutchence! (RIP) Hate to bring up any speculation but the recent airing of two telemovies about INXS over here in Australia (not sure if it aired in the UK) brought a lot of hate to Paula Yates and especially Bob Geldof these last few months with the whole Bob-caused-Michael's-death thing. Would be terrible if these sorts of trolls are ultimately responsible for her SUPPOSED suicide.

I don't need to know you to know you're painfully normal. It's okay to be normal, but it's silly to disrespect someone because they're not boring. I didn't disrespect anyone since I didn't mention anyone in particular in my original post. I was replying to universetwister who was also talking in general about the subject of giving weird names to kids. It is pretty clear if you read it carefully. You don't know me but you keep judging me. Doing an eccentric thing doesn't necessarily mean you're an original person. Eccentricity, in some categories of people, is a clear sign of conformism. See ya never! Take your e-drama to pm. For goodness sakes, it was quite clear that Doc Rikowski wasn't specifically referring to any one, but writing generally in response to a comment about parents giving their children unusual names. Personally, I think it's far from an issue of being original / unoriginal, and more like being stupid and attention seeking, but who gives a f*ck what any so called celebrity calls their children !
