The Extraordinary Tanks of GTA Online!

Firstly lol, I did not know what title will be catchy and good enough to get your attention but i had to make one so. Alright, I am here to talk rather type about the World of Tanks.

We all know that there is currently only one tank available in game. The Mighty Rhino. This Tank is Inspired from the Real Life Tank called "German Leopard 2A3" Its tough as anything i have seen in game. It can take a lot of damage before catching fire. It has a good desert Camo on it. It has a side mounted gun prop. The cannons on it fire good. Speed is decent a bit towards the fast side. But still we Love This Son of a Beast. We have been given Tons of Different Types of Cars. We have varieties of Bikes at our Disposal. We have more than 5 different types of helicopters and the same can be said in case of planes. Then why the hell do we have only 1 type of Tank???

The Rhino Tank:



According to the in-game website description: "60 tons of fun. A heavily-armored battle tank with a 1,500hp turbine engine and a 120mm cannon, the Rhino delivers a hell of a lot of bang for your buck. Much like its namesake, the Rhino is slow on the turn, surprisingly fast on the charge, and generally terrifying to anyone in the vicinity. One of the few vehicles still manufactured in America. Great for doomsday preppers."

As you all can see above, It is the only one and best tank in game. All in all it is quite decent. But did you know there are/there could be better tanks in game? Let me start with the possibility of new/more tanks in game.



The Above Picture is of a Rusted tank in a Scrapyard in Game. Obviously an Easter Egg. This tank cant be driven though. In Real Life it is known as "T-34-85" or the Soviet "T-34". The thing is sometimes you can see some guys working on this tank. Probably Fixing it or breaking it down.

So. If a Tank Prop can exist in game why not the real deal? There is so much used space in game. Let me correct that "wasted space" in game for example the ocean. Why not just improve upon it. Rockstar could reduce the sea a bit and add more land. But on topic, Rockstar could also add some more military stuff to the game. We have so many weapons and more and more of them being added with each DLC. Why not just some tanks?

Till date we have got like 7 DLC Cars, More than 5 DLC Guns and what not. As Rockstar said this is a Continuous and Developing World and Things will keep Evolving. So I guess there is a possibility that some kind of Military DLC might be added in game.

It would be Really Cool if the tank was 2 seater and the passenger would be able to use the guns mounted above the tank. So it would be like the player is using the cannons while the passenger gets to fire the mounted guns.



Another Interesting Addition would be "Anti Tank Mines". If a Tank goes over 2 Mines it can blow up. A feature like that would be awesome! Below is a picture of a Tank Mine.

I love going into a lobby hearing crying on mics and turn on my tv to watch tank drama on the tv. I might even put a bounty to encourage people to go looking for the guy in the tank and to their surprise he's in a tank and they can't reverse out of their fast enough before getting blown up

Instead of adding different types of tanks,add something actually different like Hunter(apache helicopter) or Skimmer (hydroplane) or Humvees with operational Machine gun on top

You can have all the tanks you want. As long as they give me faster access to a jet. It's then, you have no choice but to hide in your tank. And there's nothing like watching a tank cower in fear.

Tanks only bother you if you let them. If I hear the boom from a tank blast I will know to leave the area or the server. Tanks are here to stay so all the complaints are in vain.

Even though I'm not a fan of tanks, a T-34 would be pretty sweet. If everyone if gonna drive tanks around, might as well have variety.

 

I approve of Anti-Tank mines however, as I would go place one on every (or the closest) tank spawn location lol.

Would be Impossible since its a Pegasus Vehicle. If only we were able to purchase hangars and helipads and upgrade our aircrafts there....

While I hate the tank in GTA, your thread is well made and constructive.

The Abrams has always been my favorite tank. It was in Battlefield Desert Combat or some mod thing like that, ages ago on the PC. Loved that game in my earlier years. The tank in GTA is pretty good and an amazing machine, it's the people that use it that give it such a horrible image. Whenever I see a tank in GTA, I run away. I go into passive mode. Anything to not get spawn kill because I know some little twat is in there playing God with a machine that protects him from any harm I would do to him. You know something is off when the only true enemy of a tank is a jet and you have to break in the goddamn army base to get one while the tank is on-call, in the city delivery like it's a f*cking pizza.

I honestly would love to have new tanks in GTA but I don't see it as immersive. One tank is enough, having two would need a bigger military presence in the game. There's only one army base and while there may be more than one tank at the army base, they'll do the same job. If the map had a bigger desert (actual desert with nothing for miles), I could imagine tank battles in that with air support of some sort. The map is huge, yes, but doesn't have the right environment for it. I imagine a tank in a desert, a jungle or a run-down city. Nothing else.

Talking about run-down city, I remember playing the crap out of Black Hawk Down, so that's another type of shanty town we could have that would fit a tank. Love the claymore idea, though. We need a new weapon for tanks if R* don't turn down its power/armor. I think a claymore could be easily seen when on the street so maybe a gray one? Or keep it green but you gotta be real quick. It's already hard trying to creep up to a tank (even with Off The Radar). Someone that isn't an idiot keeps moving, knocking you over every time you try and get close. So we really need an anti-tank weapon.
