what's so good about Borderlands? It's sh*te.

 

Played the first one expecting a good game and lol no. You get a boss fight, empty all your ammo into it, and it takes off like three pixels of his health bar. And because you're locked into this sh*tty arena you have to kill yourself to get more ammo, which costs money. Rinse and repeat for hours until he finally f*cking dies. I got bored of that repetitive sh*te in less than an hour.

 

Instead of making an actually big game, they decided they'd make their sh*tty repetitive boss fights six hours long. If the boss fights were a reasonable time the game would last like twenty minutes.

Far Cry 3 was as boring as it can get. Except from the Main Missions, the whole game was about doing the same stuff over and over. Find this and that, climb the 392929 towers, capture the outposts...

It was so repetitive. They could have make a story driven shooter out of it without the open world.

 

BL2 was getting boring at some point too, but at least you could always choose from different quests with different gainings. The thing that made BL great was the loot. You always were able to get an even better weapon. And there were tons of the. imo they should add some customization though and add attachments to the loots.

In Far Cry 3, you're sneaking into bases, sniping enemies, doing awesome knife takedowns as well as storming in with heavy weapons, you've got the freedom to play how you like in all these different bases and scenarios, as well as hunting animals, cruising around etc.

 

In Borderlands you're getting generic quests from a poorly voice acted hillbilly, emptying all your clips into bullet sponges with bland shooting mechanics. Am I supposed to laugh? Is this some sh*t attempt at humour? "lol we have talking robots and hillbillies, BUY OUR GAME" and then somehow it gets all these GOTY nominations? what the f*ck?

Borderland games are not for me. I played both and they were really boring. The boss fights are really bad. After fighting a boss for more than 45mins in BL1, I just left it there and never played it again.

 

Regarding BL3,

I'm not a fan of these either. I've played the first one, getting to last boss and fighting mostly with boredom. I started one of the add-ons only to leave it for good. It's definitely overrated game, so I won't be looking for the next one.

If anything Borderlands 2 is very underrated, for me its one of the best ever shooters, its got great characters, very fun gameplay, a very unique visual style and a cool soundtrack and its one of the best value for money games I've ever bought. And I really dont understand all the love for Far Cry 3, the islands were dull to explore, the enemies were very repetitive and the whole story felt ridiculous to me and jason brody and his mates were annoying, if anything Far Cry 3 was the more overrated of the two games it got higher praise.

you had like 20 radio towers to climb. anyone has to explain me how it can be fun to climb radio towers over and over

The driving mechanics were horrendous in Far Cry 3 some of the most unrealistic driving controls I've ever played in any game. Climbing radio towers got very boring real quick it felt like a cheap way to fill out the length of the game. The enemy camps were extremely boring they all had similar layouts with the same stupid mooks in each camp, it got very repetitive clearing them after the first few.You included the knife throwing contests as an example of variety in the game, I dont know how that held your attention I found it to be a really dull part of the game and Borderlands 2 had tons more variations of guns with different effects

You understand borderlands? you suppose to lvl up and get better weapons ( thats the whole point of the game ) now you might understand that a lvl10 with sh*t gun cant kill a lvl50 enemy with 2 shots. Otherwise learn to aim brah. Borderlands 1 was fun, borderlands 2 is very money hungry + mainstream. I already now how 3 gonna be. 3 times the amount of dlc and nothing for free ( lvl cap was free in borderlands 1 ) with 3 they gonna top 2 so this game + all dlc atleast $150.

Borderlands 2 was literally a strait upgrade from Borderlands 1, it had more variety of everything (let's face it, Borderland's 1's weapon system was super simplistic), more intuitive skill trees, completely reasonable DLC with actual f*cking checkpoints (I have no desire to ever do Borderlands 1's DLC again because I have to start over every single f*cking time I quit the game). I have no clue what the actual f*ck you're talking about, Borderlands 2's DLC was legit as all f*ck, solid, well made and thought out, nothing about it was a cash grab, it was a literal strait upgrade over the first game with a much more engrossing story that I, you know, actually gave a flying f*ck about.

erm, the main game offers a lot of content for a long time.

The DLC were released partly over a year after release and its more than legit that they make it priced. I didnt buy any DLC, but I have no idea what was wrong about it...

So wait, Gearbox isn't making it? The same series they worked so hard on, to the point they sullied their name with Aliens: Colonial Marines, and they are allowing another Dev to work on it? Why the f*ck would they do that?

 

Secondly, I really doubt Cyro would be a weapon class. It would be a element type, like Fire and Slag. Laser is also kinda iffy, cause lasers in the series are usually based off of alien tech and not human tech.

 

I really doubt they would force us to use oxygen, doesn't really seem to fit with the style of Borderlands.

 

Also Handsome Jack is dead, they are going to do a prequel? Why?

 

I really think this leak is fake. Nothing in it seems really plausible. Plus if you beat the second game, they pretty much imply that they are going to be leaving Pandora. Wouldn't be surprised if the next game would be called Borderworlds.

Including a level 50 boss fight in the quest line for a level 10 character is REALLY, REALLY REALLY poor game design. You all brag about "all these different weapons", they're all the f*cking same and there's no difference in what you use because they all take way too long to kill enemies anyway.

I would love to say I am excited but I am not.

 

Borderlands 2 raped my bunghole so hard I don't even look for change down the side of the couch anymore because I know I won't find anything good anymore.

 

They f*cked us on the loot, and that was about all I enjoyed in the first game. Even when you do get something (off a friend who has a save editor) it doesn't even do any damage to anything unless it is 2 levels under you.

 

It pretty much pissed me off the whole time playing it.

I didn't play the first BL, but lets be honest with BL2, the guns are the same sh*t, the only this is the different model, but the stats are the same.

I dont understand the point of people replying to this thread if they dislike the Borderlands series so much? It seems like such a waste of your time unless some of you are just using the thread to vent all your sh*t or troll people. I played the entire story of Borderlands 2 just in single player, and I loved it. I didn't find it to be a grind playing it without other people. I thought that it was one of the best value for money games I've bought especially compared to other shooters even before I bought any dlc. It seems very odd that Gearbox are not developing this though.

Bahhh they always make the game look great in their gameplay trailers but when I try it with my own hands I don't have as much fun, mostly because I refuse playing with my friends.

 

Now that I have a very close female friend, this might give me an excuse to not only try BL1 and 2 with her but also this one, wasn't very amused with the new features that were leaked but after seeing it in action.. bring on Fall!
