these posts I've seen a lot of things I did not know, and now I'm enjoying the game more

Things to do offline

Fun things you like to do in free roam

Cool things you didn't know about

Vice City (2002)-The Scarface of GTA (never played it but i know many people who loves this game)

GTA 5 (2013)-The Heat/Ocean Eleven of GTA and the OWG Genre, imo i love the story and noone can deny the Prologue mission wasnt great.

Maybe soo, but in Heat/Ocean did the FBI order Robert Deniro and Val Kilmer and George Clooney and Co. around like bitches???

People should try and play through GTA Vice City ( even about half the game ) and I promise, you'll find yourself that going back to GTA V in the Grand Theft Auto series, makes it hard to relive the "gameplay" and truly amazing "sandbox world" that easily surpasses the graphics and huge map of GTA V, even to this day.

Whoever thinks Vice City is over-rated, can't understand the thrill of playing the GTA III style games over too casual and utter modernized take of the GTA Universe!

Actually, GTA V fits perfectly for the least favorite GTA in the series.

Simply for one FACT, Rockstar somehow failed to recreate the feeling of how well made open world of GTA (combining story, interesting missions, challenge, characters and replayability) was to be despite technical limitations in the early days of GTA gaming.

No huge maps, No graphics, But still a solid GTA play on offering. If there's one GTA that deserves the title of "The Best and Series Favorite" - It's GTA Vice City and not GTA V :p

@Atomic Punk I would have liked your post if you didn't bring in Johnny to the debate.

V has a lot of weapons, but where are the classic ones from VC and SA? Where's tear gas? Where are the katanas, machetes, chainsaws? Where's flamethrowers and heat seeking missiles? Where's knife executions from behind (although I loved IV knife counters, those were awesome)

@CantThinkOfOne IV has armored truck robberies as well, when you see one, you blow it up, grab the money and escape the cops. V should have had more, it had more time to add them all, it had a bigger world for them.

People who say V is the best are either kids themselves or started with the HD era.

Tell me redx, how old are you? I'd simply be interested in what stage of learning your first words you were at when I first played GTA1 & 2 back in Jan '00.

Oh, and I think V is the best GTA to date.

I've been playing III for years, since I was like 5 or 6 years old. I bought the collection some weeks ago on Steam and I've been playing it non-stop. SA went sh*t when I got to SF and VC was sh*t right from the beginning, imo. III was great from the intro to the final mission. I can keep replaying the story without getting tired.

So yeah, it is possible to be a GTA veteran (or whatever you wanna call it) and think VC is overrated.

Unfortunately, this simply won't cut it with these people. They're so stubbornly bitter that whatever glorious feature of theirs was excluded from the game to make way for new and more fun things for us to interact ourselves with, that they refuse to make any attempt whatsoever atacknowledging the things discussed in the threads you linked. Their mind has been made up, and the game has been tossed from their prams quicker than you can say 'entitled'.

I also played GTA I in the early 2000's but never got into the game. III is what I felt was the start of the GTA franchises. San Andreas was just the climax of it and now everything after that is just plain getting worst.

The real fans know what's wrong with GTA V. You can improve everything but break the core gameplay than it will never surpass its older games.

GTA V - Feels more saints rowish than it does GTA.

Not this "real fan" BS again...

Played every GTA since GTA III. All of them on PC.

I had to go through the torture of trying V on my 360 and I still think It's the best GTA to date. So as someone who doesn't even game on console, I love V. I'd love it even more if it came out on my platform of choice. But I should really stop bitching about that in every V-related post I make.

Also, "real fans". Seriously? Elitism at its worst.

Lol real fans appreciate what Rockstar does and what GTA is about, and respecting other people's opinions, encouraging Rockstar to develop each game with more content and making it better without putting pressure on them, not being ignorant and showing your stupidity on a gaming forum and verbally attacking other people.

So by your logic redx, you aren't even a real fan. You're basically a plastic follower like certain football fans.

Real fans know who Rockstar is focusing on with GTA games.

They want causal gamers.

People who play once or twice a week.

I should appreciate that they focus more online than offline for the causal player?

I should appreciate that you can skip missions cause the causal player can't handle them?

I should appreciate a crappy story cause the casual player won't bother finishing it?

I should appreciate the lies about Heist coming out since Launch of GTA Online and will come out when Watch Dogs come out cause they don't want people to move on to a better game?

I'm a real gamer who supported Rockstar for years. RDR and GTA SA were there best work they've done. MP3 and GTA V they focus on one thing and that's online so the causal players will have more of a reason to play and spend real money ( Cash cards )

So many fans gave up on GTA V and are counting down the days to Watch Dogs. I'm still here hoping for something to improve the gameplay that was lost with GTA V.

I'm no where close to a bandwagon hoppers like most people are on here or football fans ( aka Seahawks and Broncos fans ). I was one of the first to tell my true feelings of GTA V even before it was release.

Well my first introduction to this franchise was, as said, back in Jan '00 with GTA 1&2, of which my friend had given me a shot of. I then proceeded to purchase my first ever Playstation solely for those games. Since, I have been there for, and purchased every GTA except Chinatown Wars- purchasing my first PS2 for III, and my first PS3 for IV in the process.

So convince me dear child: in what way do my feelings that V is the best in the series contribute to me being excluded from this "real fan" group?

Oh, and by your rather questionable logic, you qualify as the "non real fan", given you're not keen on the top down games, but like III despite it completely revamping the way we played GTA.

Hopefully this has been a little lesson for you, kiddo.

You know, you have the same traits as our favourite troll, Official General. Both of you think this "many fans" equates to the majority of fans, and you're both very, very misinformed.

God, I must bored be this evening. F*ck it...I'm going to play some GTA V.

Later, kiddies.

The idea of what a "real GTA fan" should be is an opinion. Therefore, it's different for everyone. If you feel you are a real fan, that's great. It's your opinion. And as an opinion, you are free to share it with other people as long as you don't shove it down people's throats. If you can't avoid doing the latter, don't share your opinion at all or prepare to get a new asshole.

You think you're the only one who supported them for years? Are you high on bath salt or something? Take the sh*t stuffed inside your head out and smell the coffee. I've supported them ever since GTA f*cking 1. SA is my favorite too simply because the gameplay alone was so awesome. The story was a bonus for me. Also, the only reason they're focusing on online at the moment is because of the infinite amount of bugs and problems occuring. It doesn't mean SP is getting the shaft for no damn reason. I'll be glad to see you do a 180 when they focus on SP.

Now the biggest hypocrisy in you is that when you talk about the cash cards in V, what about the useless DLC RDR had? I mean apart from the good one's like UN, the competitive modes and such, what about the UTTER USELESS DLC's for online? The weapon packs, the deadly assassin outfit, war horse? You would probably shove your stinking tongue up their ass.

Sorry, but you're on crack to say VC and SA are sh*t and claim V is the best on top of that. VC is not overrated at all. Yes, your personal taste, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

Official, now you sound like a full on Nazi operative. If it's his opinion, why don't you give it a rest? Instead, you say it leaves a lot to be desired. Why are you getting butthurt about his opinion on SA and VC? No game is perfect as it is.

He's on crack because in his opinion he thinks V is a better game? General, just stop already...you really are making yourself look like a colossal fool...

My opinion on the matter:

But R* didn't bring anything new or innovative to the table for the 2nd time(GTA IV). R* left out the fun. Going from III to Vice City, there were improvments and new things. Going from VC to San An, same thing. Going from San An to IV? R* completely ruined GTA innovation-wise. GTA IV to V? Even less, BUT LESS IS MOAR!!!!!

I really hope R* gets their sh*t together for next-gen GTA 6 but that could be many years from now and by then I I'm sure there will be two other contenders for open-world crime games that will rival GTA, possibly make GTA a thing of the past. I think R* has veered off course and forgot why they made GTA games. V is unacceptable to me and the worst in the series. The only thing that V did right was graphics and killing little Johnny Klibbitz.

The driving? sucks

The soundtrack? Sucks bad

The story? Stupid

The protags? Forgettable

Vehicle damage? Laughable

Lack of weapons? Questionable

Cops? Ruin all fun

GTA V was a money grab and nothing more. There's no passion in it and it is painfully obvious.

Therefor, I give it a 7.6.

I've been a hardcore GTA fan since GTA 1 and have anticipated every new GTA game since. What a bummer V is. It's pretty bad when the immitators(Saints Row) are better than GTA V and I'm not even a fan of SR.

IV and V didnt bring anything innovative or new to either GTA or the Current-Gen of OWGs or OWG in General? Saints Row are better than V? Okaay :lol::lol:

@CanThinkofOne2013

True Bro,3 Installments against 1 is So totally Unfair and B*llsh*t.

@Lucchese

Lol

Side Note:With all these hates for V,i see R* making a Spin-off Franchise out of GTA with next-gen consoles, but for a game with these amount of hate, atleast 33ml gamers bought the game,WD will be great and i am getting it but even with it Mindblowing Tech Advances and Features for an OWG,it would never reach the scale of V's Success not now and not in future iterations in fact no game can (even CoD Ghost failed to beat V's records) but I am happy for what the GTA franchise achieve this gen with IV and V (esp V) in terms of Tech Achievements,Innovations and Commercial Successes and i cant wait to see what the Next-Generation of GTAs will be esp with how WD is looking SWEET (and might give GTA a bit of an hard time next-gen in terms of Gameplay Features and Innovations).

He's allowed to express his opinion just like I'm allowed to express mine. I see nothing wrong with that. If anyone does have an issue with it, they should not be on forums.

Saying he's on crack for thinking that isn't an opinion. It's called butthurt feelings. It's like there's no freedom of speech on this forum. Are you working for the LC police department?

Nah, sorry I disagree matey. You are free to respond to my comments, so I don't get what you mean. Me saying he's on crack is me speaking figuratively. If you wanna take that literally and cry like a b*tch about it that's on you.

So let's say I claimed that V is the best in my opinion, are you going to say I'm on crack? Because if you do, I could probably say that you should kill yourself for liking IV. You see what I'm saying? It's not figurative, you're just making sh*t up.

It's okay, peeps. I don't think General wanted to offend anyone. Opinions are opinions. :)

Also, I did not mean that VC and SA were sh*t games. They are really good games, in fact. I simply did not feel their atmosphere as good as other GTA's (SA was nice, but once you left LS it went downhill and the story was uninteresting).

III's, IV's and V's atmospheres are spot on, imo. I can really feel immersed in those games (and SA to a certain extent). In VC everything felt weird: the map (small and uninteresting), the sound effects (weapons sound like crap, punching sound is cartoonish), the peds are boring and not memorable, the animations are stupid (sprinting peds look just wrong, Tommy runs like an idiot and walks like a top model). Of course it may sound nitpicky, but all of these stuff are present from the begginning to the end. It's hard to immerse myself when I'm wondering why everything I see and hear feels awkward. Those little things ruined the immersion for me.

All these little things made the entire expefience just awkward. Call me an idiot, but that's how I feel and it's sad that I can't enjoy the game as most of you guys do.

Of course the gameplay is improved, the story is better than III's and the radio stations kick ass, but thats it.

sh*t, went really off-topic here. Sorry.
