Possible ability to role-play as a cop thanks to future Lester ability

I was thinking about the latest news from Rockstar, and something struck me. As some of you may or may not know, one of the outlined updates in the recent list of many updates given out by Rockstar contains the ability to call Lester, and have the police turn a blind eye for a time.

 

Now this has brought some ideas to mind. Even if it's just for a minute, or two, that's still enough time to play "cop" while chasing another player, and not having to worry about the real police shooting at you too. You could even dress up as an FIB agent or something of the such. Lots of possibilities with this new Lester ability I'd say.

 

If it works the way I'm hoping it will, "police ignore you no matter what you do till the timer runs out" then I can have lots of fun with this. Call the police on my father, and pull up with the other squads and take him out together, XD. "GET DOWN MOTHER f*ckER!"

 

So what do you guys have in mind?

Yes but this is time limited so it'll only give you enough time to steal the cop car but once that time limit is up you'll have the cops on you once you start shooting or accidentally run over an NPC or something and that you'll only be able to call them every 5 minutes as the time limit stands now for everything else.

 

They really need to add a Cops & Robbers mini-game of some sorts, I'm really surprise they haven't given the amount of people who want it

One of the biggest blunders in GTAO is that unlike previous versions of the game, there is no option to take on the role as a cop.

I loved the missions in GTA:SA and IV where you could jack a police car and do missions as a wanna-be cop.

It kind of goes in hand with the fact that in previous iterations of the game, cops actually arrested you and didn't slay you in the street for jaywalking or bumping into their cruiser.

For that, simply use Lester's other ability to remove your stars, or just loose the cops after stealing a squad. That is, if you even get a star for stealing it in the first place. (Hint: Police Station)

Bounty is 40+ minutes. so no.

 

And how do you even know it's gonna be 5? Do you work for Rockstar?

It's going to be a pretty useless ability if you ask me. I'll use it to keep cops away when I'm engaged in PvP, that's about it.

And how do you even know it's gonna be 5? Do you work for Rockstar?

I'm just assuming because the cool down period for everything else for Lester, Merryweather & the other phone contacts beside the Bounty is 5 minute cool down period.

I miss the Good Samaritan bonus from Vice City, where you could run up and knock out a criminal that a cop was chasing on foot and you'd get a small money reward. I think it was $5.

being a bounty hunter is enough for me. I even enjoy attacking people who are wanted by the cops and then peacing into the night with the cops shooting at me like bat man... true crime fighters arnt cops! cops are corrupt! the MAN, all corruption... if you want JUSTICE you have to take it into your own hands in GTA... even if that means you will take some shots in the ass from the PO....

 

 

In all seriousness tho.... You could always wear a good black suit and drive a stainer/buffalo/granger/washington with service style rims and call lester, use this ability, run in with the police, help them... get your kill... then peace out and let them do all the yellow tape busy work....

This could be added to GTA O.... wanted level players are fair game, and you get rewards for killing them too... smaller than bounties obviously

Yay. Now, I can return to doing my favorite hobby. Taking cars, beating the sh*t out of them with a melee weapon, then go to someone and say in my mic "I'll give you this for 10,000K" without having to worry about cops.

It's about time because I hate it when another player has a sh*t ton of cops on them and I accidentally bump into one cop and that whole force that was shooting at the player with 5 stars, turns and shoots at me for BUMPING into a cop and only getting one start. Like, a tank shooting cops and sh*t is bad but GOD f*ckING FORBID THIS KAYNE WEST LOOKING MOTHERf*ckER BUMP INTO COPS THINKING HE'S THE sh*t! They put more energy into shooting me down for an accident then actually trying to kill someone who is actually trying to kill them.

Actually, I find that 60 seconds is more than enough time to hide/out maneuver/set-up a position/flank an advisory.

If you HAVEN'T been nabbing bounties off the radar, you're doing it wrong. Or annoying tank owners off the radar. Or escaping and getting revenge on "griefers" I live off the radar!

Truth be told, I didn't expect to receive this new ability so soon! Perhaps we'll be seeing the High Life update sooner that we think as well? So far, this new ability has been great, it costs $5,000, and you get 3 minutes, with a 5 minute cool down. While you're being ignored by the cops, you can do anything you want! Even point a gun at an officer point blank. If you do happen to kill cop during this mode, you'll only get two stars, instead of 3 for it, but you'll loose the rest of your time if yo do kill a cop.
