People STILL farm missions?

Honestly I don't see the point in grinding these days when there is so many money glitches. I understand that some people do it for a sense of accomplishment or for enjoyment and I respect that, but why spend 2 hours on RR or Coveted and earn, lets say, 500k when you could be duping your adder and getting 15 million in 2 hours. You no longer have to worry about, "Will I have enough money for the next DLC" etc.

That's just my 2 cents...

That's why I do it. I don't make 15 mil in 2 hours though lol.

$226K an hour and a half (roughly) here. Not bad for 5 minutes of "work".

Not only is it nice not having to worry about money, but it's also nice not having to spend hours grinding as well.

Soooo much time is freed up to actually do what you want :)

Pretty much my opinion on things too, there was a time where I wouldn't dream of glitching a cent but when I got bored of missions and rank I started doing the SP to MP glitch for like 150k a turn, I don't do it ridiculously often I just do it when I need the money so I'm never broke. As someone who thinks most of the missions are boring after one play through and as someone who gets most of his fun out of cruising in free roam I don't think I should be punished for liking these activities.

I just don't get it. You play the game for fun, but yet, you have to work to make money? I don't see fun in that. I just make most of my money from races, and boosting cars for Simeon and LS customs. That's it. Anyone else think that farming missions is killing the game because all people do is the same mission and neglect the other jobs?

Then you don't pay attention to the world outside your head. People will always farm missions because having rank and adding to ones character stats directly activates the addiction centers of the brain. It's not my fault.

That's true. Even though I finally leveled up my characters (by grinding solo races), I never have enough GTA$$ to feel secure and rich. Anytime I am doing a mission with randoms, when I get the payout, I think, wow, I could have made 4x this money and RP in the same time, by grinding the short straight races that people have created.

Accumulation of SWAG / stats in a video game is addictive. By design, GTA0 is the Candy Crush of open world crime games. :whuh:

Sure, some percentage of the forum members who don't farm, or claim that what they do is not farming, will take issue with this statement. But all you have to do is look at the job invites to see that the majority of the GTA0 population is in the rat race, trying to level up and grow rich. :bored:

If we all applied such single-minded focus and time to getting rich in our real lives, we would all be millionaires. :colgate:

Yes. To the tune of 7 million bucks. And race. And kill deserving pricks in Free Mode. And deathmatch. No glitches needed.

Problem?

No, having money doesn't mean having fun. I could have fun with only $50.

True, but that 50 bucks of in-game-money won't buy you ammo, or that new DLC car, or upgrades, or clothes, or.....well... maybe you can get a can of Sprunk, I guess that's something.

Your either a sheep or a hipster.

Sheep grind money endlessly as they have to follow the flock and own the coolest and newest cars because theyre the new thing. And dont make decisions of there own just follow what everyone else is doing.

And as such theres an endless grind for money because running outnof money means youll fall behind everyone else and not be in the flock.

Hipsters just do what makes em happy. I get called hipster cos i drive my sentinel still. Its my favorite car and I dont care about the turismo jester or other one.

Being an apparant hipster though money is infinite. I only buy what I want fk what everyone else has. And as such money isnnever ever an issue. Ive wasted million buying cars I already had just to rearrange my garage.

New vehicles coming out so the sheep will grind endlessly making sure they can afford them on day one.

It's fun blowing stuff up. That will never get old. Some folks like killing "real people" in free roam...I love unleashing death on NPCs.

I hate farming but when I do farm I have a buddy play a coveted playlist or something while I do homework or something productive.

Meh.. i hardly touch missions nowadays since some generous sod gifted me an x amount of money, it's all about the team deathmatches now.

Edit: Oops I never really did farm missions, but in general I've kind of stopped looking for missions altogether.

Yes and no.

People should be able to do all types of Job, but frankly, sh*t's expensive and for those of us who aren't going to stoop to R*'s level and buy a cash card, if we want something then typically we want it immediately. Hence, things like RR are a godsend for people in need of quick cash.

If they didn't nerf race payouts, then I bet grinders wouldn't be as massive.

I just don't get it. It's not a grind. It's playing the game.

Those who play 10 RR's in a row should just buy a three dollar cash card.

Actually playing lots of different missions with friends, on mics, is enjoyable. Just like the (few) other things this game has to offer.

And no darkwar. You're not buying a new car whenever you want with $50.

You're not even buying one magazine of ammo for a rifle. Just shut up.

Who said I have to buy something to have fun? I can just take a BMX bike and go to the skate park and have a blast.

Isn't what you're doing just a different kind of farming?

A much slower and less profitable kind at that?

No, It's playing the game. I race to have fun, money is just a bonus. People who farm do it for one reason, to make money.

why does it matter if people farm missions? it's not like it's hurting the game or ruining your playing time. im tired of people complaining about stupid sh** like this, what are people gonna complain about next? that people are taking the priority vehicle too often

It's hurting the amount of people in other lobbies.

Like I said, buying stuff isn't always having fun. I could ride a BMX off jumps and have fun.

Owning everything makes me happy in the game. Owning nothing makes you happy.

Different strokes for different folks is how I feel about it. But reading your post it sounds more like sour grapes than, "*sniff* I'm above all the banal peasantry of grinding."

I think a lot of you protest too much.

True, and I can have fun with a string and a paper bag too, but in a game that thrives on 'stuff', and that has the motto "Money Is King", well, having money helps. I'm not saying you can't find enjoyment while not spending money, but if you don't then you are only experiencing a small fraction of all the game has to offer. To each his own.

And you even experience less by playing the same mission for 3 hours straight to make money. Just enjoy the game and you will be able to make money.

So your argument is that riding bicycles is free.

Yep. That's why we all play. For bicycles.

Yesterday my buddy and I bought Sanchez's to stunt around Harmony. 8 grand is a pittance to me. For those who whine and complain about the cost of vehicles, upgrades, DLC, 8 grand is a lot.

I'll probably sell it in a week, but it was worth $3200 or whatever, because I'm filthy rich.

What exactly are we missing out on while we're having a blast doing missions?

Those highly profitable Simeon cars? LMf*ckingAO.

The insanity thing is wrong, for it to be considered insanity, you'd have to do it over and over and expect a different outcome (also, insanity is such a broad term, there's real definition for insanity), but we know the outcome, that's why we do it. Don't confuse repetition for insanity.

Anyone find it funny that TC claims he is having fun with no money, yet seems to be super jelly about everyone else rolling in the cash?

Exactly. Insanity is selecting a Quick Job and thinking to oneself, "Maybe this one will be good." :colgate:

If you've earned enough money for a Buzzard, and ranked up enough to unlock the likes of 'Rooftop Rumble', 'Extradition' or 'Defender', you don't really need to farm/grind ever again.

Just play whichever one of those pops up (or 'Mixed Up with Coke', 'Judging the Jury', or any other reasonable earners) that takes your fancy, mixed up with the odd car export, and keep an eye out for gang cars to sell (or Ballers/Felons if you're struggling to get them to spawn).

Really doesn't take much time or effort (plus it's really fun to use a chopper to blow mooks away in missions), and it never feels like a chore - simply 'playing the game'.

I have over $2300000 without farming. I'm not jealous and I never will be. I am having fun, and you are doing the same thing over and over and over again. You will never stop because you always want more money.

Can you not see the flaw in your logic?

Im also calling bullsh*t on you having 23 million dollars without ever having grinded missions or glitching unless of course you are still driving around an unmodified car with the pistol Lamar gave you.

It's farming when your sole purpose is to make money. If you do them because they are fun, then go ahead.

And you need to count your zeros because I said 2300000 = 2,300,000.

Fair enough. 2.3 Million sounds much more reasonable. Looks like i need to spend some more time with this guy:

I'd like to farm missions, but the fact that Rockstar won't allow me to replay Coveted without exiting and going through 15 menus again.. makes me only want to play it once every 20 mins or so.

The replay button is there. The mission is a part of the game. If we want to keep playing the same mission then let us, assholes.

Yup, I farm RR and Potshot still. Not nearly as much as I used to, though.

Will have to get back into hardcore grind mode soon though. Multiple properties (which will end up being another 10 car garage for me), plus new cars, and a new gun. Add in the fact all the new cars i'll be getting, plus all the mods for them. Probably gonna total to $3+ million. Currently sitting at 2.1 million. Want to get at least to 3.5, but might grind all the way to 4 mill.
