People STILL farm missions?

I just don't get it. You play the game for fun, but yet, you have to work to make money? I don't see fun in that. I just make most of my money from races, and boosting cars for Simeon and LS customs. That's it. Anyone else think that farming missions is killing the game because all people do is the same mission and neglect the other jobs?

Work Hard. Show off the new DLC cars and hope you won't get killed by some trigger happy 8 year old

No I dont. Just like before dlc. Most games have certain things you had to accomplish to unlock secret levels. Also farming missions is going to allow me to show off the new cars.

I myself don't farm to gain money, I only did a few times to level up so I could get more guns and stuff. Or when I want to by something I usually join a friend who has a playlist of high paying missions. Its fun, but imagine grinding as your real life job.

You go to work every day, to do (remotely) the same thing, getting payed the same an hour, and usually have nothing else happen. This is human nature, we do what we do to 'survive'. Granted grinding in gta is far from working a job, but until you get to a career you want you have to do the crap job. Grinding is the crap job, only when players are comfortable enough with what they earned to have fun and make money having fun will grinding become obsolete for like you and I.

Yes. To the tune of 7 million bucks. And race. And kill deserving pricks in Free Mode. And deathmatch. No glitches needed.

Problem?

No, having money doesn't mean having fun. I could have fun with only $50.

Honestly I don't really see the point in grinding missions. Some people, like myself, don't have free time too often on most days. I don't want to waste the 30 minutes to 2 hours of gaming time I have on grinding the same mission over and over. If I want money I just quickly glitch in a bit of money and then do the fun things I want to do. The only time I ever grinded was when I wanted to get to 120+. Don't waste your time grinding missions when you could be having fun.

Why would it kill the game if they want to do it? If anything farming has helped people continue playing, seen plenty of people stop playing because they thought it was too hard to make money. Besides fun to you isnt fun to everyone.

Exactly. You could sell two cars on both characters and make a max of 19k easily. Not including simeons cars.

rarely farm anymore, most of the time I'm just horsing around with the crew, amazing how your experience changes drastically when playing with them as farming missions makes the game too booooring

What's so fun about doing the same thing over and over again? Someone said that is the definition of insanity... And it kills the game because not as many people could be in free mode, races, etc. Pretty much every game I see at least one person by the Rooftop rumble area.

I have friends who race.

Invite, after invite, after mother f*cking invite popping up on my screen in Online and Single Player for hours and mother f*cking hours on end.

I find it just as repetitive as farming/grinding missions.

But see, here's the thing: People farm, whether it's races over and over or missions over and over, because that's the way Rockstar made this game. For some godforsaken reason, Rockstar decided to make it more structured than it's ever been, forcing it into some awkward limbo between MMO and Online, full of the most shallow, artificial gameplay extension you could ever see.

This is new territory for Rockstar, and it really f*ckin' shows. They have no goddamn clue what they're doing. This is supposed to be Grand Theft Auto, not WoW or Runescape, and if I want to have the kind of fun Grand Theft Auto offered me in the past, I need money.

Don't forget to pay your landlord or Johnny On The Spot...

The landlord will shut off your water, power and your TV and without Ole Johnny you'll be walkin' since he won't deliver your cars for you.

Back in the early days of the game i had a time where i was flat broke i only had $12 on me and i couldn't pay my bills and it suuuuucked not being able to have my car delivered i had to drive all the way to my garage if i wanted a certain car not to mention i was smelly for a few days

I guess that I do a bit of farming, but I'm never in any kind of rush and have a bit of fun using different weapons*. I like money and it adds to my enjoyment of the game :)

* except Potshot, there's only one way to do that one ;)

Are you serious? Thats something a casual gamer would say, GTA isn't the first game where people would farm and it won't be the last. Also please don't quote Einstein. Plus if you're going to at least finish the quote.

To add its always people in free roam killing each other & its plenty of races being played.

And everything else is different because of the different players you encounter. Farming is like being stuck on a mission doing the same thing over and over again.

Now that just makes it worse then who do you think he is quoting? And whats wrong with that? Ive seen people farm races, death matches & missions, its what people do, find the best & easiest ways to do things.

You aren't farming races, you are racing. There is nothing that changes when you farm missions. At least with death matches and races, they are all different.

Sir Michael

It's crazy.. I see the same dudes trying to host Rooftop Rumble in the same session.

With the glitches, I don't have to worry about grinding to get a car I want. My friend's in Bad Sport and just had jaw surgery, so I'm mostly playing solo nowadays.

The thing about racing is that there is so many different races, and players. Which makes them almost different every time.

And I can say the same about missions.

There are so many missions and so many different ways to do them! Snipe, guns blazing, explosions, stealthy! And you can get paired up with tons of different kinds of players, too! Assholes, idiots, friends, leeches, smart asses, you name it! Hooah, diversity!

And you're right, races are the same way, too! You can play with assholes, friends or idiots. Ooh, and that one race is windy and bumpy and that other one is straight and flat! it's like being born again into a brand new life! Never mind that you're still trying to do the same thing regardless of any of that, you can choose between Fast Car A and Fast Car B! Yay!

See, that's the thing... Paint it any way you want, in the grand scheme, there's nothing that's really different and it all boils down to one objective and the same two outcomes... Winning or Losing. Both with missions and racing.

If you want to be technical with it then no mission is done the same way. Only thing thats the same is the objective of the mission but no one does it precisely the same way but thats if we're being technical. And if thats the case isnt the objective always the same in death matches & races & that's to win. You can race but so many ways, kill so many ways. Everything in this game is repetitive, whether you're farming or not.

I grind missions like Rooftop Rumble it because I want to level up sooner rather than later to unlock the higher-end weapons as well as afford the high-end cars and mods that I want. Grinding isn't fun. It's never fun. That's why it's a "grind". The aoppeal is the end results (cruising around in my pimped-out armored Sandking is lots of fun). I prefer to grind out stuff to use in free roam because there are very few missions I personally find fun. Frankly I think the only jobs worth doing are those from Lester and Martin. Simeon, Lamar, etc, hate 'em. Plus I enjoy the vehicle customization process and the new-car smell drive home. Suffice to say my way bores you and your way bores me.

Sometimes I farm missions, sometimes I hunt gang cars to sell. When Simeon wants a car I look for it...It depends
