Just want to know the differences besides graphicsin each version. Like has the psp. Erosion got more music and extra side missions or stunt jumps over the other versions. Or has the ios version have extra mission than the DS.

Thanks

The PSP version has more advanced graphics than the DS version, it has 11 radio stations instead of 5, but all of the minigames used by the DS's touchpad have been replaced by quick-time events. The iOS version retains everything from the PSP version, but also includes a new station, Independence FM, where you can make your own playlist.

IOS version also uses Touch controls for Minigames.

Sorry I started this topic when I was drunk and on my ipad. Anyway, I purchased the HD ipad version. I don't want to be missing out on any extra side missions.

From what I have read and from you guys. The main difference between the 3 versions is the graphics, the mini game controls ( touch screen vs button pressing on the psp), and the radio stations. Because I purchased the HD version, I will be getting those extra radio stations as well as the user radio option.

I read that on the DS version when you signed up to social club, you received missions from a contact called Xin. Just to clarify the HD version does not have this feature but the missions are included.

Is there any other bonus missions/ collectibles that are on the other versions and not on the HD version? I'm thinking along the lines of the extra stuff thrown in on the PS2 Version of Vice City Stories.

Thanks

iPad HD version or the iPhone one, both versions include the extra radio stations. (Plus Independence FM aka. custom playlist). Xin's side missions are also bundled within the game, as you can't access Social Club from the iOS version.

i dont buy a game for some radio stations and polished up graphics. they could have the game easily to be rendered in 3d view, and they just didnt.

I think iOS has extra stuff, that Android doesn't have...

A lot of cars look different, dont they? At least between DS and PSP. Not sure if performance is changed, though.

Why you think so?

Cuz the DS Version has less stuff than the PSP Version. I was told the iOS Version has extra Missions not in the original DS Version. I am not sure about Android, but that's what I heard...

Just like LCS and VCS for PS2 has MORE stuff than the PSP Version...

Well the DS was really just a GBA with 2 screens and an ever so slight graphics boost. Other than that it was an example of Nintendo recycling crap outdated hardware as usual.

(BTW I hate Nintendo).

I was actually talking about vehicle performances. I can see from DS-screenshots that some cars were changed, and not only to a higher poly count.

I have no idea wich game ran better, though. Only have the PSP version myself. Since the PSP could run LCS and VCS, CTW was probably not a huge strain on the machine.

Whether it was optimized properly though, I don't know.

The vehicles are different.

In DS version the vehicles are boxy.

In PSP version the vehicles are more rounded and has better textures.

IOS and PSP versions are almost same but I think new IOS CTW has some special effects or something.

For me, PSP is the best platform for this game.

So just to be clear, the iOS Version has those 4 extra Time Trials which are required for 100%, right? Just like the PSP Version had. So in total 30 Time Trials?

Also, there is 30 Rampage Icons and also another 5 Rampages that are activated when you enter a Vehicle, right? So in total 35 Rampages?

I got the answer to my own question...

What you said is FALSE. I got the HD Version of CTW for iOS. My Version does NOT have the 4 extra Time Trials. I went to their locations on the map and no Car/Bike is there. Whereas, the other 26 Time Trial locations have a Vehicle there to use and start a Time Trial.

Thus, the iOS/Android Versions are NOT like the PSP Version, which has all those extra Side Challenges required for 100%...

I own all three but I've played the DS version the most.

DS: gamepad controls for driving/walking, touch-screen controls for mini-games and menus, blockier graphics.

PSP: better graphics than DS, no touch-screen, smoother models, enhanced particle effects and lighting

iOS/Android: very similar to the PSP version as far as graphics, might have a higher resolution, touch-screen controls, and a custom radio station

In my opinion, the PSP version is the best because it has better graphics than the DS version and better controls than the mobile versions. I can't stand using a touch-screen controls for a driving/shooting game. You can probably get gamepad support on Android and iOS but I don't have it. It's hard as hell to play using a screen as a controller.

I adapted quite quickly. CW was the first Mobile GTA, or game in general I played on my Phone. I was able to finish to 100% in a few weeks like any other GTA. The controls aren't that bad actually, but I still do prefer using the PS2/3 Controller when playing III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, IV, TLaD, TBoGT, and V, but when it comes to CW, I personally think the iOS/Android Versions are the best, but it's close with PSP. The DS just looks....Well, bad...

I didn't really play it long enough to get used to the controls. I was just like, "Screw this, I'm playing the PSP version!" I'll probably give it another shot on Android down the line.

And, yeah, the DS version looks awful once you've seen the mobile and PSP versions. I went back and tried the DS version after playing it on my PSP for a few weeks and I was like, "Funny, I don't remember it looking *this* jagged and ugly." The DS version looked fine until I saw it on PSP, hahaha.

As for me, I never got into CW and thought I'd never play it until December 2014, when I bought it for iOS. Now? It's one of my favorite GTA's out of the 10 I own. So the first time I saw CW, was on iOS, so looking at the DS makes me sick, lol :p

the psp had shinny grapphics claiming im good you have to play me,avoid the use of the ds version.

The ds version is quite cool because is a unique gameplay having to use the touch control, was really unique it made me inmerse on the game.

I have both versions and i keep playing the ds version after i finished the game for 5 times because of the gameplay, the psp version is worst because the gameplay is not closer to the ds version and only had a graphic improvement but not an improvement on gameplay in fact i got so bored on the psp version that i start looking for mods on it (yes is that boring) so i only played like 2 hours and after that i stop playing the game.

Overall the one with the best gameplay is the ds version because is more inmersive, the psp version is meh i prefer to play ben 10 protector of earth to gta cw psp.

Having played all 3 versions at one point or another this is my analysis:

iOS/Android version has all the benefits of the PSP and DS versions, (extra missions, better graphics, touch screen minigames) and faster load times than the PSP version.

The only potential drawback I could see an argument for is the touch screen controller but something like that is subjective and you'll either love it or hate it. Having experience playing the other mobile GTAs certainly helps in this regard.

I actually played CW first and not only first, I never played a single Game on a Smart Phone other than CW. I used to play "Snake" and Games like that, 15 years ago on a Nokia Phone or something old school like that, but not until I got my iPhone 6, did I think about GTA on Mobile Devices and I bought CW first, then SA, then III and VC simultaneously. At times, I prefer the Touch Screen Controls to what I am most comfortable using (Playstation 2/3 Controller). They aren't hard to get used to at all...
