Rockstar's response to freezing

So I put a ticket in and after a month they eventually told me there is no issue on the consoles they have tested and the problem is with my console - they said to put reinstall the patch (which I've done 10 times) I asked them why I had no issues with freezing before the patch and why it also happens to my friends - no response. Any post I make on the support forum gets removed and they end up banning me support account

Yup, the official answer from Brian B was that the issue is resolved. I'm guessing you're on ps3?

Yep ps3, they have banned lots of my support accounts, I just make a new one with the fake email generator - one day I got pissed and spammed the support site swearing at Brian b

Imagine if you froze in real life while your driving your car or drinking expresso xD

It definitely happens way more frequently in lobbies where people are cheating and glitching.

And you thought that would be effective, how?

Rarely happened to me at the start but for each patch it progressively got worse. After 1.11 it was unplayable however after I cleaned up the ps3 and reinstalled gtav it was alot better. Now it's sh*t again gg rockstar.

Yea I hate lack of accountability. I don't own any other games that freeze regularly n this didn't happen prior to the most recent patches.

I wouldn't look for it to get better. Part of me wants to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's because GTA puts quite the strain on that last gen hardware, being a sort of Preview of what we could expect from games in the new ((Now current)) generation of consoles.

Part of me also thinks it's because Rockstar already made all the money in the world off the sales of this game ((and no doubt a tidy sum from shark card sales.Make of that whatever you want)) and really has no interest in fixing the issue beyond being mostly tolerable, because those fixes cost money and it's simply not profitable to polish a game that all but the most dedicated aren't going to be playing by this time next year ((Unless those rumors of a PC port hold water))

Either way, I wouldn't let it get to you. Life's too short and all that associated bullsh*t.

I seldom get frozen, but it's true they have been acting kiddish since a week before GTAV release.

"clear the cache" = complete horsesh*t, it did nothing for me

why won't R* take the hint that this many people weren't having their consoles constantly bricking before the most recent patches?

Rockstar is a bunch of sh*t. They take ages to release content, they release it at the worst times possible and they only fix things that don't need fixing.

But when it comes to something serious like the game freezing, they don't want to know because they're spineless and have no cure for it, so they blame your console.

Wana know why they said it's your console? because IT IS YOUR CONSOLE.

In total I've froze maybe 4 or 5 times since the release. Only one of those was after 1.12 whereas the rest were spread out over the updates.

Yea I hate lack of accountability. I don't own any other games that freeze regularly n this didn't happen prior to the most recent patches.

I guess you haven't played the Fallout games then.

Every time I play GTA for more than two hours at a time, I might only freeze once. But, every time it freezes and I restart, I never have to perform a hard reset.

Don't be dumb. Both ps3 and xbox started freezing much much more often after patch 1.11. Prior to this I hadn't frozen since the first couple releases of single player

I'm not saying it's just one console, I'm saying the older console models find it harder to cope with GTA. All the people I know that have freezing problems are people with the older models. The people that don't have the freezing problem (me included) have the newer models of the consoles.

I have an older model, but I too freeze rarely. So no. That's not the case, plus false.

Its happening to everyone there just too arrogant toadmit they messed up

never happened to me.

might be some truth to what they're saying, could be they're having problems recreating the problem because it only happens on certain models or something

still this is no way to handle things

I'm goin out on a limb and saying that the "slim" models are reportedly freezing the most. I own a 360 slim, freezes intolerably. I heard ps3 super slims are having the problem too...

Be aware that my limb is hanging over the Grand Canyon.

I have a 3rd generation "fat" PS3 and no freezing. So yes there is some difference between my console+connection and that of someone experiencing freezing.

I am betting something like the air intakes are clogged with dust and it's overheating, internet connectivity, or a software problem and R*'s recommendation of re-installing the game/patches will actually help.

The state of this game at the moment is absolutely unacceptable. Especially considering its popularity. I think I've frozen more times in this game than playing through Fallout NV and 3 together. And those games are well known to have bad crashing issues especially on the PS3.
