Looking back at Online character creation

Maybe its because I've hated gta online since its come out, but what the f*** was rockstar thinking when they designed the creation categories? I know most people have different opinions but I think we all agree that it's design needs a rehaul.

Literally the only reason why the character creation system is the way it is, is because it's main attraction is looking like one of the main characters. It sounded cool on paper to have Niko Bellic, and Misty as parents, but it was just executed poorly.

Yeah only messed around with it for a few minutes and then said f*ck it and just picked my character.

Sad to say but I prefer Saints Row creation over GTA.
Everyone kept saying Saints Row copied GTA and the big competition started (and ended with Saints Row:The Third because it was so different) but when R* introduced character-creation, Volition were ages in the lead and are clear winners.If R* keep the creation thing for the next GTA, it would no doubt be a thousand times better. But for now it just looks like my character has a broomstick up his ass and touches his brain.

Character creation was an absolute clusterf*ck of a mess. Choose your parents? Yeah right R* because they are totally involved in the game, please just give us simple sliders like every other game.

For both my character's I ended up hitting random until something popped up I was happy with. Nothing like what I was able to make myself.

I found it to be unnecessarily frustrating. I ended up hitting "random" hundreds upon hundreds of times until I had a half decent character, x2.

Cause R* wanted to stand out and be different by releasing what could possibly be the worst character creation system I've ever seen in a game.

 

Like I always say, SR will always remain superior in terms of the ridiculous character/body customization it has, take notes R*

I really don't think it's that bad.
Also, getting a character that doesn't look like a meth head is quite simple. Bump up hours spent sleeping, time spent socializing and time spent doing legal activity and keep time spent doing illegal activity to a minimum (or better yet, at 0) and bam, decent-faced character.

I think it would have been a lot better if they had just let us select their NPC molds that they have created for the game and just have us dress them the way that we want.

 

They have so many NPC molds out there. Why not just have us pick from the hundreds that they have?

It's terrible. It was pretty bad. So confusing and the characters so ugly lol. If heritage had some play in GTA Online I would understand but I still don't understand it to this day. Maybe something in the future.

Sometimes their character is already ugly.The clothes they put on them is even more ridiculous that it turns their avatar from ugly to hideous.Me?I wear a black suit with an aviator so i don't look like a weirdo.

October 1st, made my character about four times until I got it right. He kept coming out white, so I didn't stop until he popped out brown.

How are you meant to get a good look when the grandparents face that your stemming from takes up about 20 pixels on your tv

Yes it really sucked. They overdid it and it turned out very bad. Even the poorly customisation in IV multplayer was better then this crap.

 

I guess clothing and such would be hard to fit but it would have been cool if you could just choose one of the many NPCs as your player model. Now everyone looks the same bodywise. The woman bodies is the worst failure I think.

Eh, my first two I didn't like the hazel or blue eyes. Then I battled for about 15 minutes to get brown eyes for my male character, without him looking Mexican or Black. It took a good deal of meddling, but I wont say that it doesn't work.

Delete game and all your files, reinstall it. When you enter online it will ask you if you want to adjust player's look

Yeah, but be careful - I have heard of people doing this and it might cause problems with your character saved on the cloud servers...
