Does anyone want to go back to September 2013?

That magical sunny September, a week before GTA V was released all the video leaks were happening, everyone was excited hoping for the next San Andreas. Even though I haven't played the game yet as PC is far superior, I wish I was back there, with the illusion that a new San Andreas was coming.

Man I miss the hype train for this game so much. All the exciting updates on the website when they revealed the information and eveyone looking forward to the amazing things which could be done in game.

Alas, it was finally time to experience it for ourselves. GTA V you're here now <3

It still feels quite astonishing to play this game after all this long hype train. Almost every time I mess around with it, I think how much myself before the 17th of September 2013 would envy me today.

Then it turned out the game wasn't as incredible as it seemed...

I miss waiting for this game, back then I was really hyped because we could just imagine the things it could have, my most wanted things were dance clubs, forests, play as Franklin, being chased by the LSPD, explore the trailer locations and so on.

Despite the disappointment with almost all of those things, I think I completed the story too quickly, in two weeks. GTA IV and EFLC took me about 5 months. I think I'm enjoying more the game now than back then, since I started to play slowly, I know the haircuts and beards that I like for the characters, taking Chop for a trip in my car, driving carefully like real life, walking around the streets, listening to my favorite music using an HDD, using Snapmatic, talking to pedestrians, diving with the Scuba suit and gear...

This is the new San Andreas. If you wanna play it, then get a console, or mod GTA 4.

I wish i could go back to the day before and tell everyone

"I LEAKED THIS GAME AND MICHAEL AND TREVOR DIE AND ITS A PIECE OF sh*t DON'T GET IT"

And people would love me for saving their 60 dollars on a piece of sh*t game.

Please put spoilers in spoiler tags.

I'd much rather go back to November 2011, when we all thought the game was going to look like this.

By 2013, we already knew the graphics were downgraded, the map not nearly as great as we hoped, and the story wasn't looking too bright either.

Well aren't you all a "pessimist petey" lot.

I for one, was incredibly excited for this game, and still enjoy it. Was it everything that the hype had made it appear to be? Not necessarily, but honestly, I cannot complain. The game is just so amazing in many ways.

Today I was playing it on a friend's flatscreen TV and I got that "September feeling" once again. Probably because I haven't played the game on a TV worth a damn in a while but still. It felt like a new game again, and made me appreciate all the little things I take for granted in it.

What does that have to do with playing GTA V? I'm playing GTA V, and I'm still hoping for a PC version.

And why would I want to go back to September? I'm finally at a place where I can appreciate some of what the game has to offer. Back in September, I was still getting annoyed by too many aspects of the game. I was also looking forward to an awesome online mode with heists and the possibility of creating them.

Not really. Being able to actually play the game is pretty damn sweet. I do suppose I should explain SOMETHING though.

So, why did I fight so hard against traffic laws and fuel? Well, it's more than just me thinking they would ruin the pacing of the game, especially together. And especially now that I know they kept the psychic cops and made them even more so.

This game made over 1 billion in a week. It's a big, BIG release. Which means the imitators are soon to follow. So, basically, if this game did have fuel and traffic laws in it, that means almost every game up for release this year and next would also have fuel and traffic laws because businessmen think charts dictate sales and not talent or uniqueness or how fun their game is.

And bros, I just don't fly like that. This game making traffic laws and fuel popular additions would pretty much have ended my history with modern gaming right there. Who is to say that people wouldn't suggest it for saints row next? Next thing you know, Saints Row V has fuel in it. All the sandbox games now have fuel and traffic laws because this hypothetical "Realistic" version of V did it.

If there's one thing that has prevented me from picking up bully scholarship edition and playing it again despite me having it it would be the truancy thing and the whole "We must make you play crappy minigames because SCHOOL and sh*t" thing. I don't like schoolwork in real life, why would I do so in a game? And that's the thing. Refueling and having to follow traffic laws, like schoolwork, are also very boring and tedious things to do in a game, it doesn't matter how realistic they are.

If this game had them, every game would have them. The industry loves trends to latch on to like that. If this game included them, who knows how many other games might have? That and it's GTA. I don't want to waste my time on tedious crap like pumping gas. And I don't have to because the developers aren't stupid.

Though that thing where you can shoot the gas tank and it'll leak and disable the car is pretty cool. That's probably the only way I like fuel. Also as gas can ammo.

If I remember I was busy binning leaks and banning trolls for posting said leaks so no not really.

I hate the concept of refueling in a game, but comparing it to anything in Bully is just unfair. That game is all about school, so some aspects are there, but it's not really forced on you. You can still do what you want. It just doesn't apply. In Bully they found a way to implement aspects that are needed for a game that takes place in school, but it doesn't feel like school. I skipped school all the time IRL, but I actually wanted to attend class in Bully. It's gameplay(schoolwork in Bully) VS a lack of gameplay(refueling in GTA).

The first trailer didnt look so good if you watched closely. The lightning was amazing, the textures, models were pretty awful. The map was also pretty small if you look at it.

Oh yeah it was great. One of the best 'gaming' moments in my life for GTA V. Hype was strong, but I overhyped it. A little too much honestly. But it was cool, and I would love to re imaginate it with GTA VI

I take that lightning over those supposedly better textures and models. And yeah, because you can tell the size of a map from that one trailer. Duh!

By the way, your avatar is... f*cking cool, omg I too luv me sum one direction sh*t I cum to their faces evryday CANNOT STOP FAPPING ACTUALLY LOL.

But, There is something missing from V. I tried to play online the other night and just couldn't. the players are just a bunch of aholes.........

I wish I could go back knowing what I do now so I'd just buy the vanilla version of the game and play it without building excitement for whatever should've happened next in the game.

No. I'm enjoying the f*ck out of V right now and will continue to do so until the next GTA arrives. Or till the next RDR. Or Agent.

I was one of them GTA5 Aboriginals who followed every snippit of info etc,I preordered the game months earlier,i was SO f*cking Hyped and i got the game on Sept 17 (launch day) ,7 months on i love the game infact as most people know i am a V fanboy (and the only few V fans on the forum) everything shown in the Gameplay Trailer was what we got and i didnt raise my Hype to 100% and the game still exceeds it (although some people dont think so and hates the game) The Graphics etc in V is Superb...But Damn my Day one Copy of GTA 5 stopped working last week due to my XB360 fault :( but hopefully i will try get a new copy before the Story DLC is released later this year :) imo V worth all the wait, and it on my top 10 games of all time (#1) :) if V could do wonders on old hardwares i am fricking excited for the Next-Generation installments of this Legendary Franchise (GTA) :)

Cant say yes or no. I just wish time could go back and Rockstar could have changed their ideas about the way they made the game and made it much better than it is now.

I remember all the hype for this game. Rarely does something this big live up to its hype, but GTA V didn't even come close to being as good as I was hoping. Possibly the most disappointing games I've ever played.
