Yeah lol, it was pretty bad on allot of games. Supriseingly GTAIV wasn't to bad. Neither were the Fallout games.

With all these 42" smart TV discussions, has no one thought of projectors? I know they sucked back in 2005 but the contrast ratio, blackness level (In a dark room) has been improved. I might get a good one for a home theater setup soon, should be good. A projected 150" wouldn't be bad.

I feel so bad right now. I have a silver-colored Salora 21" 4:3 720x576i CRT. It says "Colour Television" on the back. It only supports like 576i @ 50Hz.

It has a 16:9 mode but all it does is add letter boxing to the screen. It sucks that most games do not even support non-HD/4:3 res. And the next-gen consoles do not support composite at all.

So when, I'll get my new PC, I'll make sure I get atleast 2 monitors with HDMI support.

HDMI is much easier for installation when your running cables through walls. I hate seeing cables dangling when you have the TV mounted up on the wall.

What's the difference between tv and or monitor ?

Well, they're basically the same thing, I use my 32" TV for my computer, but it's still a monitor. I guess it's just something that have stuck with people, monitor for PC's and TV for watching sport etc.

Edit: Typo, I don't have a 42" anymore

A monitor has a higher DPI if I'm not mistaken. You can put your face against a monitor and the text will still be crystal clear, not so much on a HDTV, it'll still be clear, but not as crisp.

That was true a couple of years back, TV's have truly caught on

Edit: Most TV's are however like TheStalked says, but if you go up a few price-ranges you'll be surprised how awesome most of the TV's are

OP 4K TV is out now, 1080p is on the road to becoming archaic.

That's pretty much irrelevant because the amount of games/movies/TV produced at 4k resolution is very little.

And paying thousands for a TV right now that will be worth half its price in a year is just a waste.

Very true, there's basically no movies other than The Hobbit currently in 4K, everything can be upscaled but it won't be as sharp. It's basically going from DVD to Blu-ray

Regarding games, I'm sure they can be either manually via config or it's already possible to set the resolution to 4K.

grand theft spaghetti

lol, yes upgrading from old and busted to new and working always makes a difference. dont get suckered into buying the expensive hdmi cord, they all work the same.

i was playing on a projector from 1993 that has better quality audio and visual than any new projector that sells for $1000. of course this projector cost $13,000 back in 1993. its up to you if you want to pay to be one of the first or wait a few years for the price to drop...you cheap ass mofo.

i already owned a HDTV but I didn't have a hdmi cable. when I got one around a week later I was amazed at the difference. I've still got the same TV, waiting for it to die before I upgrade it.
