My HDMI port is broken. :( At least the 5 prong component cables allow you to play in HD.

Also, I refuse to play GTA V on a 480p TV. Might as well be playing GTA III

Played with both component and HDMI, didn't see any difference tbh.

I remember when I came home on a leave in 1999-2000 seeing one of the first flat screens. The price of a 42 inch then was 15k, it's amazing you get a decent one now for 1500 and under, depending on store promotions.

Amazing how overpriced TVs were back in the early days lol... Now they are affordable and cheap!!

There really isn't any since both support 1080p. Composite on the other hand...

I use component cables, at least I think that's what they're called, the really colourful ones. But back in the day I remember when I stopped playing on my 27 inch TV from the late 80s and upgraded to my 42 inch Sony Bravia and started using the component cables. It was an epic gaming experience.

Which is cheaper to do, HDMI or composite?

Yeah haha it does. Before on my old tv I could not see what the numbers in the bars meant. Turns out it was JP.

The WIZ which was a big electronics retailer in NYC at that time doesn't exist anymore. Everything now is Best Buy and Target. P.C. Richard is the only store chain around here that's outlasted everything. They've been around forever.

The cables themselves are only a few bucks for pretty much anything if you know where to shop.

I only recently have been able to play games in true HD. Will never go back.

Combine your HD with a home theater system and gaming becomes an experience within itself. It also helps you hear the unique differences in each cars TRUE sounds. That some claim sound the same...smh.

Unless you plan on buying a 70"+ screen, there's no need to move up to 4k, IMO.

Don't know on PS3, but the Xbox 360 comes with a component cable, which is pretty close if not just as good as the HDMI.

I have 46" Samsung 8000 series, as good as the game looks on my TV, you still can't beat a PC with a top of the line graphics card on a 22" monitor.
