How the hell do you rappel out of a helicopter?

just found out you can repel out of a helicopter how can this be done?

 

cant not believe this has never popped up as a option any time i have been in a helicopter

Doesn't always appear as an option btw, depends on where he ends up hovering.

The MW pilot once gave me the rappel option when we were not quite hovering over Eclipse Towers properly. Long story short, I rappelled out and became a pancake.

I've only had the option show up a couple times. He has to be at just the perfect height or it makes you jump. It's faster just to do it the old fashioned way and kill the pilot and unless you are all alone you're a sitting duck coming down that rope.

He never lands,you have to jump.When over a suitable area,an option will appear,press X(xbox) or Square(ps3)

The option has Never popped up i swear and ive been taken places by MW helicopter, "Perfect time to roll up" that's why i use it without killing him

It also works on some rooftops, set your waypoint to Weasel Towers for example, you should be able to rappel.

You can rappel on apartment rooftops BUT,watch where the rope is being lowered.One time,the pilot missed the Tinsel rooftop a little,i ended up looking into my apartment while i faceplant myself into the front door of my apartment.

you just need to stand still on your marked area and it will eventually work, I could always use that rope

however, I prefer shooting that motherf*cker and fly on my own, he's the new "mechanic" IMO

OP its fast roping, not rappelling. Rappelling you would be equipped with a harness, and either a figure eight, or a tactical belay descender, or if you want to go high tech you would use a Petzl stop descender. The mission where Michael broke into the IAA building, that's rappelling, the option with the Merryweather chopper is fast roping.

When i had no helicopter yet, i was invited to a mission on a construction site on top of the Mile High Club. So i called the MW chopper with intention of landing on Maze bank. A option of roping appeared then, the pilot said "i don't think that's a good idea" and i landed right on the wall. I thought he may be right.

Being able to tie off on any rooftop, to rappel to street level would be very useful, not every rooftop has pick up parachutes.

I've only seen this option once when i was over a building but I mostly shoot him because he doesn't fly high enough and it takes too long for the parachute to appear and then deploy and 90% of the time you go spat.
