How would you bring old protagonists back?

I know about the different universe thing but if you could bring old protagonists back what would they be doing? What kind of life would they be living or what would they look like? I will be back with some of my own ideas.

I wouldn't bring them back. What I would do, though, is introduce masks of their faces (either from artworks or from the previous games themselves) in Online and V.

I think Claude left Liberty City to keep on with his life. Everyone there hated him, except for the Yakuza (but they probably realised that Claude killed Kenji, not Miguel, so they could be enemies too) and the Hoodz (which don't make up for the rest of the gangs hating him). I assume Claude decided to lay low after killing Catalina and then continued his bank robbing adventures, possibly found new bussiness partners. Or maybe he just kept doing jobs for gangs and mafias for a living. Or he is probably dead. So yeah, if we had a GTA that continued his story, I'd assume that it'd be about him and some other guy/girl robbing banks and doing jobs for criminals. You know, surviving.

 

Tommy? He is either dead or sitting on a couch, staring at the TV as the mindless old man he might be right now. No way he is coming back.

 

CJ is probably living in LV, continuing with the casino bussiness with the triads (or something happened and he took over/the triads got rid of him). There's no way he was gonna stay in the hood. He didn't want to be after he became ridiculously successful. Sweet is probably either doing crack or got killed by the Ballas, or even the Families.

And then people justify the scene saying niko lost roman/kate and is depressed blah blah blah...

 

And then SonOfLiberty murders anyone who thought the scene was well written, along with the writers

GTA London protagonist was hunted down by Harold Cartwright's henchmen.

Claude Speed was killed by a Zaibatsu hitman (obviously)

Claude (GTA3) was killed by a Yakuza member for stealing his car. He also got to know that it was Claude who killed Kenji.

Tommy would throw a party with Mercedes, Earnest, Kent, Mike, Mario etc. and would accidentally fall down on the stairs and suffer fracture of his spine. He'd be alive but he wouldn't be as badass as he was.

Carl was murdered by Bogman's Rookie Balla member, suffering a shot from a Desert Eagle right into the eye.

Mike would be AK-47-ed in Colombia.

Toni would die in a housefire of his restaurant.

Vic was killed by Diaz' goons. (obviously)

The last remains of Russians and Italians have demolished all of Niko's homes. Niko wanted to commit suicide, however just as he was pulling out a Desert Eagle, his lost brother phoned him that he arrives to Liberty City. He drives to the Port Tudor docks and meets Igor. They later scrap some money together and buy a rudimentary apartment in Acter Industrial Park and live sadly and unsatisfied.

Luis died when ****ing Joni because he got herpes.

Huang Lee was murdered by some Spanish Lords when he was trying to avenge any other already dead Triad members.

Michael's family left him and Jimmy stole and destroyed his Tailgater. Mike overdosed Vodka and died.

Franklin smoke too much and ate too much. He got a wreck and some Ballas poisoned him with drugs.

Trevor was just sitting in his trailer watching cheap porn. Suddendly outta nowhere, a wrecked Hexer ridden by... JOHNNY KLEBITZ WITH AN EYE PATCH crashed into his Trailer and pushed it right onto some explosive barrels. Trevor exploded and Johnny avenged himself and his brothers.

Johnny wasn't killed by Trevor, he got an eye patch, fixed up his Hexer and killed Trevor. THE END.

Doesn't that depend on your choice? I know, I haven't played IV but I know enough from the web to know there are 2 ends of the story.

Either Roman's dead, or Kate.

However, If I had to bring old protagonists back, I wouldn't. End of story. They're good enough in their own story. Plus, I don't like it when different games have the same characters that keep coming again and again and again... San Andreas was basically a ginormagantic cram of GTA III and VC characters. From what I've read, they did the same with V with characters from IV.

Okay, Tommy and Claude and Niko were great, but that's it. They're good in their own games. I want NEW characters from the next game. New and ORIGINAL character. I don't want it to be just a huge recycle bin of old characters, maybe as a homage to their personalities and a few resemblances, I'd love to see that. But I certainly don't want the whole old character.

I know, not all of III and VC's characters have been recycled into SA, so maybe it was an exaggeration but here's the thing, I want every game to have unique characters. Though one or two crossovers are fine.

By the way,

Claude drowns to death, Toni drowns to death, Tommy drowns to death, Mike drowns to death and CJ dives down but forgets to dive back up - drowns to death. The worst theory ever.

@bengalboy, I agree with you there. It just seems too disjointed when you overload a game with characters from the previous, especially when there's no type of correlation between their appearances. SA was a clusterf*ck of old characters. V was slightly better but still doesn't explain why everybody who somehow survived the events of Autum '08 in LC decided to go to LS at the exact same time.

 

This is why I liked IV starting a new continuity. New characters. New events. Everything was fresh. While I don't want the next game the be a new era/universe, I think it's best that we minimalise the old characters.

I would bring Niko as an assassin your online character can hire to kill another player. He would fly from LC, steal a car, acquire a bunch of weapons from Ammunation, then he would start a manhunt on the other player. Niko's services would unlock after reaching level 200. Luis would be hireable as a bodyguard, after reaching level 250.

I'll start by killing off all SD-era protags.

 

After hearing about Claude in 2001, Tommy hires Claude to his organization, because Claude reminds Tommy of himself. CJ tries to buy the Vercetti estate, he recognizes Claude, and gets shot by Tommy for attacking Claude.

 

The Vercetti gang then pays a visit to Liberty city to meet with the New Leone mafia don, Toni Cipriani. Toni notices Claude, and shoots him for killing Salvatore, Tonis closest friend. Tommy kills Toni, but as he is leaving the building, he gets killed by a carbomb installed by 8-ball, because Toni expected something to go wrong.

 

Then HD characters.

 

Michael visits Liberty city with his family.

Niko is playing with Mallories 5-year old kid on meadows park, and they see Michael. Niko asks him if he could take him and the kid to Bohan, and Michael agrees. While driving, The kid falls asleep, and Michael finds out that Niko was the "Eastern european who went silent." When they arrive, Michael wishes Niko good luck, and tells him not to make the same mistakes he did in his past.

 

Luis:

 

Luis and Joni move to Los Santos, and have a kid together. Without knowing, they move to Balla territory. Luis becomes a bodyguard at Tequila-la, but loses his left hand after being run over a car.

I wouldn't bring any of them back, because this is a series where every new game should have a different protagonist.

 

Personally, I hate it when we have to play as a certain character too many times. Resident Evil is notorious for this, they've forced Chris Redfield on us about 5 times now, and I wouldn't want GTA to go down that same path.

I wouldn't want to play as them but it would be nice to see what they are doing.

 

Tommy Vercetti would move to Las Venturas and get into the casino game. He operates a few casinos in Vegas and in Alderney City which is the gta version of Atlantic City. He has gone semi legit but if somebody crosses him he will handle business and he still has connections in the criminal world. He would be in great shape for a man his age and would be somewhat grey but not bald.

 

CJ would be a hip hop mogul but would still have ties in the gang world. If somebody crosses him he is not afraid to handle it at street level.

 

Niko would be managing company he bought with his money and sometimes the business deals in illegal things as well. He gets in touch with Packie who tells him about M,T and F and talks Niko into coming to Los Santos and joining them for a major score. They make major money and he buys a house in Chumash and retired from crime for good.

Claude, got his balls chopped off my Toni Cipriani. Claude survived, but then he drowns to death because you cant swim in GTA III:

Toni cipriani dies of a heart attack when he was masturbating.

Victor Vance's body is still at the port of VC, its rotten.

Niko Bellic dies by falling from the empire state bulding.

Luis dies because he is lame.

Michael dies because he tried to do the jumping jacks, but he broke his spine and died immediatly.

Franklind got execued by ballas members when he tried to do a selfie in Grove St.

Trevor dies, by exploding the entire Sandy Shores.
