So I went to the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings last weekend. For any non-Brits, it was a battle that pretty massively changed the fabric and history of this country. Every year they hold a big reenactment battle. This year there were something like 1100+ people involved. It's probably the closest you can get to a real medieval battle, minus actual killing. There were Knight cavalry charges, and massed archery volleys. Cool sh*t.

 

And naturally I had to blend in...

 

 

And of course, pretending to be a medieval warrior is thirsty business. Cue drinking horn!

I know it probably seems like I love myself because I've posted here a few times, but if you could ignore that for a sec. The teeth, look at the teeth. Imako snap on smile, I've never been so happy to grin like a nutjob.

Just look at them. If anyone is ashamed of their teeth, Imako are a Godsend.

 

 

Once I had them in, it was such a f*cking relief. They look fake of course, but I don't mind. It just looks like I have over the top veneers, I'm more than okay with that. I had to take out my smiley piercing though but again, nice teeth are more important.

Probably the fact that the default human condition is superficiality and narcissism, both of which are self-limiting and self-destructive in the end. There's nothing wrong with appreciating yourself as long as you don't overdo it but constructive criticism of oneself is more useful because no one is perfect and being appreciated in a big way by other people is naturally more rewarding (unless there's something wrong with you).

 

Edit: Knowing that you are beautiful is kinda meaningless too. At some point you'll get bored of staring at yourself and you will probably seek external approval. Beauty is almost entirely subjective, so whether or not you like yourself is kind of irrelevant if you want others to like you. For instance, I barely experience any attraction towards the person in the picture above. This is not to say that she's not attractive in the conventional sense. She's actually way above average in that way but I've seen and met women who are infinitely more attractive for me. I'm not trying to be an ass or anything. I'm only pointing out the subjectivity of beauty.
