The High Life Update Release Date?

From what I've read about Rockstar's release history, 2016 2 days before the possible total shutdown of Live on 360, and the heists 3 days after thats :p

Live will exist for like 10 more years. Microsoft wouldn't be dumb enough to shut it down when games are still being made for it. Look at ps2, it still has some online servers active.

Indeed. What a lot of people don't seem to understand is that the live for the 360 is the very same live they use for the Xbox 1. I have both an Xbox 360 and an Xbox 1 and I use my same account for both, same friends list, same name, hell, they even share the same gamerscore (for that matter, I also own a PS3 and a PS4, and they use the same account as well). 360 won't be taken off live for a loooooong time.

Xbox live for the 360 is very different from the Xbox One.

Reason it's taking so long is Rockstar have decided to roll out the High Life update, with Heists, instead of releasing HL and then some time later, Heists.

Fingers crossed that's what the delay is all about. Servers went down the other night although I don't notice any improvements or refinements re: smoothness, but they could have been adding new servers and updating them to their latest firmwares in order to "cope" with the influx of players once the new content has been made accessible.

I really hope that's not the case. Delay the useful thing (new apartments, additional garage) so that it can be put out at the same time as the thing that will be ridiculous because no one in GTAO can work together. If people can't work together for three f'in minutes to deliver documents to Madrazo in RR, the idea of people working together for something considerably more complex is absolutely laughable.

If they delayed high life because of heists, I'm going to be so pissed.

I suppose in this day and age it really is difficult to please everyone.

I suspect one of the reasons why people can't, or don't work together in RR is due to the fact they're after a quick buck and experience, and have seen that mission invite come up so many times they're actually bored of doing it "properly".

Stocks and Scares however... is a slightly different kettle of fish. Never, ever had an issue with people not helping on that one. May be a little slow in knowing what they're doing, covering fire etc, but certainly not standing and doing nothing, or taking the briefcase up to Mount Chilliad.

I couldn't imagine doing heists with randoms. The amount of trolling that will be done is almost scary to think of.

This is why you need a crew with reliable members. Luckily I've been playing with the same crew since the launch.

And on that page you will find:

"A single Xbox Live Gold membership works across both Xbox One and Xbox 360 – your membership covers both."

When I'm on my Xbox 1, I see all my friends and achievements from 360, as well as I changed the set up to have the same look as well.

Someone suggested that 2x weekend was a load test for the servers; I didn't think about that at the time, but in hindsight that makes alot of common sense.

I don't agree with the wording change that people are saying means HL and Heists are being combined. I think the situation there is whomever writes the copy for the Newswire isn't on the same page with whatever team actually does anything with the development, look at the fact that it was once Dangerous Business but in the end was named the much more pedestrian Business Update.

I suspect HL will come first with some breathing room before heists to clean up whatever glitches pop up with the new dual apartments (plus cleaning up the Xbox SP2MP glitch). Every update has brought new cloud latency exploits, despite their best efforts to close the holes. With two garages, I expect they're planning on extingiushing more fires in regards to it.

If HL lands cleanly, I believe that Heists will drop a week after Watchdoges releases.

I'm surprised HL wasn't today, but the lack of news telegraphed it. I'm really banking on it for next Tuesday, again, leaving time for bug fixes to prep for heists to try and tame the effect Watchdoges MP will have on GTAO.

Heists after watchdogs actually makes sense, I remember bioware doing something similar. They knew they would lose players from mass effect mp to a new release (maybe a cod, I forget) so they put out a substantial expansion the following week to draw them back, which worked pretty well.

So, high life 13th. Bug fixing and a #gettinghigh snapmatic contest. Heists no later than June 3rd.

This ("downloading now", "just got 1.13", "it's out!") is getting really tired.

Downloading now

If we banned these dbags for just 1 day they would stop.

STOP Trolling and spreading mis-information. Trolling is against the rules and it will get you banned. Thank you

That's your xbox live membership. I don't think Microsoft would get away with charging people another fee for a gold membership on the Xbox One. The way Xbox Live works for each generation is drastically different.

Exactly. They won't release day-of Watchdoge, because its a highly anticipated release on nextgen systems. Rather than try to compete, the idea that GTAO's coop play is something different than Watchdoge's weirdly antagonistic MP.

From my perspective, reminding wandering players a week (or even two) that GTAO's online world is richer and more socially interactive will bring people back in as they quickly become bored of the one-trick pony of Watchdoge's MP.

Dude, trust me, I use both every day and the only difference between the two is that the Xbox 1 has a whole bunch of media crap options added on that most people won't even use. I even remember reading somewhere that they even used the same servers, true, they had to buy a crap load more when the 1 was released, but as far as I'm understanding the news stories I read about it, they for the most part they share the same servers. Hell, I've even been in cross platform parties (I was on the 1 playing Titanfall, and was in a party with a friend who was playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 on the 360.

More bells and whistles, but still SSDD.

You're both right. The core service remains the same, and data is shared between platforms, but they are also quite different in terms of presentation and features.

The most important thing though, is that the f*cking 100 person friend list cap hasn't been increased at all. :die:

You were making more sense until the bolded part in your statement. There's no cross platform play or chat.

Right, no cross platform play, but I have had cross platform chat. Done it twice now. But although you can't use the mic, you can text chat. I should have been clearer on that, sorry.

BTW, is that Hikakin in your av? If it is, a big thumbs up to you, I think that dude is great.

That makes more sense with cross chat as in text messages. And I have no clue who is in my avatar hahaha

He's on Youtube. A Japanese beatboxer, he has even been on stage with Aerosmith. He also does some pretty funny reviews of a variety of things. Whenever he has to eat stuff like turbo hot sauce it's comedy gold.

LOL @ all the trolls.

Anyway, I think they'll release it May 27th.

I got $500K I'm and ready to buy a cashcard. And if you don't like it I couldn't give less of a f*ck about it.

I'm thinking more the middle of the month myself.

Also, I have no problem with people that use cash cards, I myself would never use them, but it's your money and I would never be so presumptuous as to tell somebody how to spend their own money.

R* could release the High Life update on Wednesday, just to troll the massive amount of people who say "Major updates only come on Tuesdays."

Was thinking the same actually.. but then again, my lungs will still exhale on that one.

Game will gone stale again by the time WD is out.

They better do events again.

Or Rockstar have given up? Wouldn't care about it though. SP is always there 24/7 and back in PS2 days, I used to play GTA no matter how long the story has been finished since.

Possibly on Friday, since Capture creator came out on Friday and there was 2x rp and money on the weekend before it too.
