OK. The f*cking Stats are Broken as Hell

Only online too. Story mode stats are fine.

 

Anyway. The stats are completely broken as the title says, and they have been since GTA Online started (Obviously because why bother to fix them eh R*?). Last night I logged into GTA Online and decided to play some deathmatches. Before I joined a game I saw my Kill/Death ratio was 1.99. I selected "Join deathmatch" from quick job and the game plonked me into a job called "Battle Los Santos". It was a vehicle deathmatch with Lazer jets so I thought it might have been fun. After the game I got 9 kills and 13 deaths which is pretty low for me. I went back to free mode and the saw my K/D ratio had dropped to 1.97. That pissed me off a little (This isn't the first time its dropped so much in 1 game) so I tried joining another game. I was put into a map called "007" It was your standard crappy unbalanced player made map full of tanks, jets and miniguns. After it ended I achieved 6 kills and 1 death because the other team were complete idiots. Again, went back to free mode and still 1.97 K/D. After about 20 minutes of disconnects and long loading screens I finally got into a game called "Shotgun Wedding" which was a sawed-off locked deathmatch. Once again the opposition were low leveled idiots who didn't know what was going on half the time. Match ended, 7 kills 3 deaths. This time instead of going into free mode I voted for a map called "Canyon" which is a long range sniping map. Same 3 guys as last game. This round I got 9 kills and 4 deaths. Everyone pressed replay and then I got timed out of GTA Online. So back into free mode and checked my stats and now it said 1.96 kill to death ratio. WTF? Surely I should have gone up at least to 1.99 again. All of those games after the first one were over 1.00 K/D. I'm just mind boggled. This isn't even the first time like I said before, once I was at 1.94 and got 12 kills 9 deaths and still got pushed back to 1.92.

 

The K/D ratio isn't even the start. I like to do alot of classic GTA chases at 5 stars. Just a few days ago Rockstar Social Club sent me a wonderful message saying "So and so has survived a 5 star wanted level for 10 minutes. Your record is 0" Even though on the Social Club it says I've gone 32 minutes in one chase.

 

Another example is stunt jumps. For some reason it says 0/82 found. Even though I've found them all and theirs only 50 in game :/.

 

And it doesn't even stop there. Does anyone else have problems like this? I can't be the only one. This is the kind of thing that makes me want to take the game out and launch it out the window :sui:

The K/D ratio stat is not broken. Your maths is broken. You need to learn how ratios work.

you kind of suck at DM's to be honest

I come very high up on the leader boards most games. Sometimes being MVP even with 10+ players. I don't consider myself to suck but of course I'm not the best. In total I have 2,691 kills (694 being head shots) and 1,366 deaths.

1 kill 1 death = 1:1 ratio.

 

Since your average KD is ''1.99'' you've to get at LEAST 2.0 KD per game.

 

So 9 deaths? You better get more than 18 kills. Basically x2 of whatever your death count is.. Then it'll slowly rise..

 

Say you get 9 deaths and 15 kills, your KD will still drop because it doesn't go over 1.99.

 

Hopefully it's how the KD works in this game..

I know. I didn't think it through properly. Excuse my ignorance :I With that said though its still all over the place. Sometimes it lowers by 0.02 sometimes it goes up and sometimes it just seems to get stuck all together. A few days ago I was in a game with an idle player and managed to get 17 kills before the game ended. So that's a 17.00 K/D. Didn't even budge

Never even use my Rhino in public games. I just play alot of DM as you can clearly see. Its my most played game mode.

KD should matter to you though really, it's GTA.. I do general f*ckery in free roam(I don't DM coz it's broken) and my KD stats never really jumped. It's hovering between 2.12 to 2.14 now. Just pick targets off randomly in FR. After a day of random picking it'll rise. Provided you don't keep getting killed. Running is never shameful. < provided you're going for KD.

The ratio is also screwed if you have two characters so it's quite pointless - I've got a 1.42 ratio but both my characters share the number of deaths but show their own number of kills, it's a bit of a mess.

 

Also the stat is pointless, tanks saw to that. Never wanted one but for the second time in two days I've been in a lobby with 3+ of the tossers and it's just spawn kill after spawn kill, of course not paying for destroying my car and now near invulnerable without sniping.

 

I've got 5 mil so I give in, Rockstar wins, they want everyone in a tank so I'll join the club.

K/D is a useless statistic anyway. Win loss ratios are a better indicator of skill if you want to throw it around on the internet for bragging rights.

The only reason ive seen for K/D not mattering on this game was people basically saying its not a FPS so who cares lol but as for me I rather do the killing then to be the one getting killed

The reason I play DM is for the RP. You get like 150RP per kill when you're on a kill streak. But I suppose in free mode you don't have to deal with the stupid "Power Play" thing with the blinding filters

I like to keep above average at least, I don't brag about it or anything. Most players only have about 0.50 - 1.50 with the odd exception. But you have a point.

That's an error on the GTA5stats.com website. It is not indicative of any failure of the in-game K/D ratio calculations.

It shows your total kills for both players when you go look at your stats in-game & if you switch it to combat it only show kills for that character

Bro you don't know how much fail you delivered on that post. You hating on a 1.99 kd in GTA online just shows you suck dick at playing this game. 1.99 on cod is kind of impressive but here where the norm for an alright player is 1.5 - 2.0. Def doesnt take a tank to do that. If I expanded my time frame to go ham in free roam I'd have a 3.0 just from c4.... Because let's face it GTA is full of scrubs and if you didn't notice that then guess what you are one of those scrubs. Edited by Q_Man

K/D shouldn't even be in GTA in my opinion because it doesn't matter. I think K/D is stupid over all but that is just me. I mean just look at this thread, it is about a K/D not matching up to someone's expectations. And them being slightly disgruntled about it but I bet if K/D wasn't in the game no one would complain about it being off or being wrong.

I don't see why you care about your K/D so much. Just play the game without worrying about it and it will rise naturally if you don't die often. I check my K/D before and after I play GTA Online to see if there's any changes, but I don't get angry if it ever goes down because overall I get more kills than deaths so it will rise slowly naturally until I finally reach how many kills I do get per death, which judging by my other account (has over 400 kills without a single death) will be a very high number.
