Clean Cars

I know I've always been the minority in this, but I'm getting sick of the cars in this game being so overdone. The Cognoscenti Cabrio is the perfect example of what I'm referring to, Rockstar takes what is a very clean car (Bentley Continental) and only gives us the teenage-boyified version. Sure it's an actual car, but my goodness, not everything has to be covered in vents and carbon fibre, and in the case of the Cabrio, it's the only version. A lot of other cars in the game are like this. I was hoping we'd get some more mature cars in the coming updates, but nope, more overdone modern cars.

Anyone at all that prefers the cleaner version of cars? Or cleaner cars in general? Older cars?

So I'm guessing you aren't a fan of the feltzer? That thing is all vents and spoilers.

Again, I am a fan of the Mercedes SL (I own the Feltzer from San Andreas), but in GTAV my only option is the Black SL.

The Felzter is taken from 2 actual Touring Cars.

Why would Gran Turismo constitute a knowledge of cars?

The Feltzer is the Mercedes SL Black Series.

You would still be wrong. I will say the little lip on the trunk does look like it came from the SL. I don't deny that. Majority is still as follows...

*This will be my only post on the subject because there is no debate on what this car actually is. It is crystal....

Mercedes+Benz+Clk+Dtm+Touring+Road+Car+iMercedes-Benz CLK DTM Touring

Put them together...

Tbh, I wish you would just appreciate what we got and quit your bitching. Don't like the car? Don't buy the car. Simple concept, really. Most of the carbon parts are just that: add-on OPTIONAL parts. Try making something of it, instead of whining about it.

Personally I think most modern super cars look like crap altogether seeing as these things have more curves than Cheryl Coles T*ts, but that's just me, and although it's the same ingame, like others have said, if you don't like them, don't buy them.

Where's the early 2000's supers? The DB9 Super GT? The 360 Turismo? And why is there no 90's beasts in this game? Not even a skyline lookalike either... :(

Because it is a modern game I guess. Perhaps just limited space? Gotta be current with the times perhaps. I too wish there was early 2k and 90's supers. Then again I still think Gran Turismo lacks cars and interiors..and they have what 1197 ingame cars. Ya some are just different variants of the same car..still though. There is a lot.

Also, DB9 Super GT is a pile of crap if I remember correctly... Aston Martins are not that great and they tend not to let their sister company Jaguar release better cars.

Rockstar can't make perfect replicas of real life cars without incurring numerous additional license fees. Given the game's already record breaking budget, I totally see where they're coming from. That said, they've done a damn good job of keeping most cars immediately recognizable, and have even improved the design of some cars IRL (e.g. Adder in game >> Bugatti IRL). Some cars (e.g. Rapid GT/Exemplar), sadly, have been made to look uglier than their IRL counterparts (Aston Martin DB9/Rapide).

My only issue with the cars in GTA is the immense lack of detail present on some models. For example:

I can't help but comment on this. I am not sure what you mean by "improve" on this car. It is a mix between a Bugatti and a SAAB. Are you saying that the ingame that they did a better job putting these two together than they did with the Rapid GT? If that is what you mean, then I can agree with that. I also dislike what they did with mixing the Camaro and Challenger. In fact let's just not add fuel to the fire and keep muscle cars out of this discussion ;)

I'm saying that by taking the best design elements from Veyron and Aero X, Rockstar has made the 'Adder' look better than either one in real life. I'm not a fan of Veyron's design - it looks like a slightly flattened VW Beetle with a stoned face (its headlights design = ugh). On the other side of the spectrum, Rapid GT/Exemplar look cross-eyed and terrible compared to the elegant Astons IRL, so that's the low point of Rockstars's design 'hybridization'. Gauntlet, as you've mentioned, is much in the same way, for me at least. Contrary to Adder, I'd either take a full-on Challenger, or a full-on Camaro, since their designs IRL, are great.

In any case, beauty is in the eye at the beholder. I, personally, love Cognoscenti and Vacca designs, and hate the Z-Type one, but I'm sure there are people who are the complete opposite.

Ok we are on the same page. I agree 98%. the 2% comes from the new Camaro. The taillights are ugly af in the year they included in the game. Even Chevy changed them IRL because they were hated so bad lol

But everything else you said I completely agree with. The Vacca Cognoscenti examples you used...perfect. I think they did an excellent job looks wise with them. Performance...well the Vacca obviously needs a boost.

I agree with the Comet. My wife doesn't like it on Sally. The Feltzer HAS to have the bodykit and such. It was made after....scroll up to see my annoying correction on this car. ;)

Fully agreed with OP

I think a Mercedes SL 500 (even a stock SL 65) looks a lot cleaner than any black series or dtm car. Its not a boy racer car to begin with, which is why the clean stock look in GTAIV was better IMO.

It seems as if every car has to look like a hotwheels or some toy car that is printed on t-shirts made for 7 year olds. A super car doesnt have to be an ugly car that probably should have stayed as a concept car.

I`ll take a classic Ferrari F40 (looks kinda like the Turismo in San Andreas) over whatever Lambo or Ferrari lookalike they are trying to make.

everyone has got their own ideas, but this is what i call a clean car. i thought it still needed a little "something" though so only upgrades i used are the skirts, bumpers and wheels. although i'm still not content with the paint.

Is fine to argue what is somewhat vague, but you coming out and saying "this is fact, you can't disagree with me" is a bit rude. The CLK and SL are very different cars, notice the main body line, the C pillar, and the second row seats. In overall shape, the Feltzer is more like the SL, couple that with the fact that the Feltzer was a SL in San Andreas and GTAIV, I think its a much better argument for the SL.

Stock Tailgater's real clean. So clean it's a family car. As in, that's what the Obey advertisement in Simeon's store says. It's for the family.

With the F620, I really wanted to play up the 'Jaguar XK' aspect to it - went for Racing Green and some retro rims, and stayed away from even tinting the windows or fitting xenon lights. Nope - nothing to ruin the classic Jag Grand Tourer aesthetic:

Don't get me wrong - with things like the Elegy, Sultan and Surano, I was happy to go full 'import tuner' on them, because I'm a sucker for those. But for a touch of class, it really is a case of 'less is more'.

I like it, but I'm still a bit bummed that Jaguar and Maserati are a bit too jumbled in this game.
