When did Rooftop Rumble become the grind mission?

It was only a couple months ago that Coveted was the mission to grind for money, and maybe RP. Even when it only payed 12K, everyone was grinding Coveted. RR has been around since the beginning, and as far as I know always paid out 18750 on Hard. So why is RR now the defacto mission everyone is doing? Could it be more, and more ppl are over Rank 75 now? Surely there's been high ranks since the 1st month of Online. Both missions are relatively easy, and take about the same amount of time to do(and now Coveted pays 18K). Since I don't grind, and actually play all the missions available, I'm just wondering how RR became so popular all of a sudden?

RR has slightly higher payouts than Coveted. It all adds up at the end of the day. Also, RR can be played in a wide variety of ways whereas Coveted is really repetitive.

Guess it's easier for most people and faster, not to mention the extra 500$ speaks for a lot of people.

And I believe it gives more RP

When they added it to the start menu. If I'm not mistaken, coveted was already on the start menu. Or at least it could be replayed. Before, getting Rooftop Rumble was just a matter of luck when calling Martin for a job.

Extra money, easier imo and more fun, and also a lot higher RP

it became the grind mission the moment R* made it available from the pause menu!

Coveted was only the mission to grind because RR wasn't able to be started from the menu. RR is easier with a better payout.

RR and Stock n Scares are where it's at. I never did like Coveted.

When? When R* added the option to replay over, and over, and over again from the start menu. It was still played as often as possible before that it was only when Martin would send it your way.

EDIT: Oy, so many ninjas on the forum today.:ph34r::ph34r: damn it ninja'd again.

Stocks and Scares is good but very hard to Solo, and no one ever seems to want to do it. It's like a mini heist imo

(Oh god, I said that word!)

Coveted only gives around 1200 RP while RR gives about 4200. You get roughly the same money but RR is WAY easier and quicker to complete

Yeah, that makes sense now. I remember getting RR coming up quite a bit for me when I called Martin though. Keep forgetting that only a handful of missions were available via Start Menu.

Yeah, this and the fact that if you do it right, RR takes maybe two minutes, even if you're soloing it. Coveted - when soloing - easily takes between five and ten, depending on how you run it.

That bias.

Coveted takes me no more than five minutes to complete (including loading screens and such). I can clear RR in about the same amount of time.

It's about 5 mins for a good going at Rooftop Rumble for me, can easily clear 2 with loading screens and all in 10 minutes.

If you get a bad run with AI or the Grangers though it can add a little a time.

RR has better RP and once everyone leveled up to RR they stopped starting Coveted.

Me and a friend clear Rooftop Rumble in only two minutes (we checked it with a timer). One of us gets the briefcase while the other calls in a helicopter.

Because Coveted f*cking sucks. I never understood how people could grind it for so long.

I don't like the Helicopter option, costs you $1,000 every time, I'd have lost a load of money that way by now. Plus it's good sport dodging the AI

You couldn't select Rooftop Rumble for a long time. Coveted, though, was available for grinding. Now RR is back.

I would hazard a guess that his accomplice has a Buzzard, spawns at hospital two blocks away, and is quite a bit faster than the Maverick for 1/5th the cost. One guy assault shotguns the garage (LOL, jussayin') and the other retrieves the chopper.

Also more reliable than the Merryweather idiot.

"YES LAND ON THE THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL THAT'S PERFECT RIGHT THERE."

I swear...(shakes fist)

All of this. Buzzard at hospital $200.

I don't think people do Rooftop Rumble for the extra RP/Money (I never knew it gave more until I read this topic), Rooftop Rumble is way less hassle. You can attack from the front, side, rear, shoot once and let the guy drive away so he's all alone, drive to Martin, fly to Martin, let someone else drive...there's a bit of variation while Coveted, if done with a team or friends, you all had a task. Someone had to shoot the guy next to the Granger, drive down, kill the guys there (or let the snipers take care of them), steal the chopper, fly for a minute, repeat. There's also a few ways to do Coveted but in the end it comes down to sniping disappearing enemies and picking up a container.

I grinded Coveted so many times I know every location of each enemy by heart and know 3 different ways of doing it on my own. It's the only mission I won't do "for fun" or to grind. I'll do it if someone invites me to it or if my friends are doing it. By the way, anyone getting invited to public ones and one guy blows up the Cargobob? I keep getting these types of games and I honestly don't see the point of it. It's f*cking annoying, I wish these types of players that ruin missions get strapped to a chair, mouth wide open and get sh*t in the mouth.

GTAMYBABIES

I find rr just as repetitive as coveted.

I find coveted is good way to practice sniping as there is one spot on the hill you can stand and shoot 95 percent of the enemies from. If you do it in the right order none of them will shoot back at you.

RR is kill 13 with low to mid range weapons and driving to martins down where everyone is a drunk driving and the feds are drunk driving and shooting at you. So it is good for evasion techniques. Unless you just helicopter back then it is very repetitive but fast as well.
