JP

Currently JP is useless but R* should implement them with heists.

Say if you wanted to join/host a heist you would need atleast a minimum of 100JP in a lobby cause right now I don't see the point of it.

So you need to do like 7 missions in a row, before you can join a heist?

Am I missing something?

Isn't JP used to determine the playlist winner? Am I missing something here?

R* announced that Job Points were going to be needed before starting any heist. They didn't say how many, only that you needed a certain amount before you can start a heist.

i would like an even higher starting number at least 100-200 jps and a cooldown for every one who hosted or joined a heist :)

Honestly I don't think there is a source for that, I definitely heard about that "rumor" back before Online launched but no one can seem to remember from where, not even myself. For now it looks like it's just to determine playlist winners.

It would suck if the rumors are true, because you'd have to do a few missions just to gain enough JP for specific crap Heists related, unless they find a way to let you keep that through your "career" (sessions)

I honestly doubt they are gonna use JP for Heists.

They'll more likely use the H-E-A than JP for Heists.

JPs as they are now are cosmetic. They just show the rest of the lobby you weren't screwing around the entire time in freeroam but did some things.

The rumor that they're in some way related to Heists is fairly well known now. Whether it's true or not, or has been changed since that rumor was first started, R* haven't said.

Personally, I think that it will be used to determine whether or not you can Host a heist mission. Not neccessarily to participate in one hosted by someone else. It stands to reason that R* aren't going to want to have people replaying Heists quickly, so I imagine that you'll need X number of JP to host a Heist, and then once you complete/start a Heist your JP is reset to zero, not counting any JP earned from the Heist itself.

Did you see my post earlier? I'm fairly certain that Job Points are used to determine playlist winners (only JP gained during the playlist though) but I can't get on and test it to be certain atm.

I've also seen mention it is used in tie breakers, but it was a pretty vague mention and on that god awful trash site IGN. :p

I saw that, but everyone gets the same JP, except for the one who delivers something, right?

If JP is going to be required for heists, than that actually will give more fuel for Tank Griefer's. If you built up 50JP, and wind up in a lobby with a tank killing everyone. Doing the Join New Session is out of the question since that'll send your JP back to 0. And let's not forget all the console freezing, and having to reboot the game.

Not talking about a playlist of contact missions but competitive game modes, racing, death matches etc.

Every time I've played any job, race, mission, whatever, everyone has gotten the same amount. I've read the rumors too about them being required to start a heist, but it's still just speculation since R* has never acknowledged it formally. Seems like a ridiculous requirement if you think about it, the number resetting every session would limit the amount of heists you can do during your play time, though I wouldn't put it past them to do that.

You get awarded different amounts of JP in races depending on what position you finish in. 15/16 for first place and then lower as you move down the places. Don't know about death matches though as I don't play them personally.

Ah, good to know, still don't see a point to them though.

JP are there so that you can easily determine which of the players that have recently joined your session are likely to have pockets stuffed with cash and should therefore be swiftly mugged...

For now I use it to figure out who us less likely to be a psycho murderer in the lobby. The guy with the most JP is probably more worried about playing and surviving than killing randoms. But I don't see very many people with JP in free roam that often so it's a crap-shoot tactic on my part.

No they are not - they determine who wins a playlist. For example a playlist of three races. First place in a race gets 15, 2nd gets 12 and 3rd place gets 10 (or something). Player with most JP after three races wins the playlist.

I know all this JP for heists is currently just specualtion but....

if JP are going indeed going to be needed to start or join a heist then they definitely need to fix the JP system, because as it stands it sucks ass. Right now if you switch lobbies you lose the JP, when playing with friends and you return to free roam you get split up, have to rejoin lobbies again and lose them. They need to make JP holdable until the game is shut down. So everytime you boot the game up its reset, not everytime you switch lobbies, its going to take forever for people to have a chance to play heists.

The lone Decepticon

Ok, this is what I think,

You need a certain amount of jp to set up a heist, you being the leader,

Then you get to choose whom to take with you,as driver, gunner and hacker.

Other people can join a heist. But can't either choose their role, or only pick one,

Then the heist start and you all do your job
