Mansions still in the future of GTAO or nah?

Rockstar said there would be more high end apartments in upcoming DLC but didn't mention anything about mansions. What are you're thoughts on whether or not mansions will be in future DLC?

The chances that we will ever get mansions is very slim. The only reason why there is even a rumor of mansions is because some idiot didn't play story mode and jumped to the conclusion that the website selling mansions must be for online.

A mansion would be a nice way to blow some cash, but for me, still fairly low priority compared to a lot of other things needed or wanted in Online.

They never mentioned mansions. People who jumped straight into online without playing Single player though the Lenny Avery stuff was referencing some sort of future update, when it fact its that single player thing where you have to destroy the real estate signs.

 

Mansions would be better as crew hangouts imo instead of per person housing.

if you think about it , If Rockstar opened up several of the Mansions for purchase.......since there is a limited number of them a lot of us would be still be living at the same Mansion(s) so then they would become Apts so to speak .......so does it matter in the end

My only hope is with the future updates some of the changes will allow us to have better garages outside the city

None of the mansions appear to have space to store 10 cars in their garages anyway. And they're in annoying locations; I wouldn't want to live near Madrazo.

Logistically, how would mansions work? Of course I would like one too, but what happens when two people buy the same house (which would happen 100% because of supply and demand). Do you both share a place? GTAO is played by a LOT of people. How many people would you share this house with? It wouldn't work. Apartments work because you can suspend disbelief a little by living in a building with multiple people even though you technically bought the same place. A house wouldn't work like that.

What I suspect they'll do is keep coming up with ways to keep apartments fresh. I don't know how this whole "purchasable mansions" thing started in the community but I'm going to doubt it heavily.

Good point, though to be fair Rockstar haven't required a lawyer to analyse their newswire releases to work out what's going on previously.

 

There are a few obvious garage doors which haven't been used before, so it's not impossible for new apartments to be released. Though if they're in the city I can't imagine there will be much reason to choose one over the existing offerings.

Although the apartments all look the same on the inside, they are each uniquely named and have their own unique view of the city. If I can suspend disbelief when sharing Del Perro Heights apartment no.20 with thousands of other people, I think (and anyone else) should be able to manage just fine with a mansion.

 

Rockstar haven't mentioned it once though, so it's just a forum rumour and a (potentially) interesting discussion but nothing more.

To be honest, i did play story mode all the way through and thought that mission was sort of a "hey go check out all of these houses you'll be able to buy in gtao." I beat story mode before gtao went live.

I don't even get where this mansions idea has come from, Rockstar have never mentioned a thing about mansions.

No, they probably won't ever have purchasable mansions.

 

I'm willing to bet that there won't ever be any new interiors that aren't already accessible in SP or through glitching.

There was a video on YouTube that showed leaked images from the game files of 50 (?) apartments that aren't the ones we can buy in the city. I tried to watch it but the user who uploaded it has made it private :0(

 

One of them is near the Eclipse towers, if I can find out any more info. I will let you know!

 

I suppose someone could go and fly around looking at the apartment blocks that aren't currently for sale that have names and garages.

 

These could be the 'new high-end apartment options' which means we 'will be able to own two distinct properties (with garages) simultaneously' that R* are promising us!

Yeah, there were also a few YouTube videos speculating about the Lenny Avery website properties, why is the website 'down for maintenance' when you search for it on Eye Find when playing Online.

 

It is accessible in story-mode, as it is for the strangers and freaks mission you do for the rival real estate agent guy when you go around and smash up L.A.'s for sale signs.

 

It would seem like they spent quite a lot of effort for that one S & F mission though, I did complete the story mode and got to 95% but didn't do all those side missions for the real estate guy unfortunately so hadn't actually done that one :0(
