The Mighty Useless Annihilator!

So, You know I am talking about, That big black and yellow stripe with miniguns and stuff. Most of you here {including me} are Experienced Buzzard Fliers and we are very good at it. During freeroam when we want to chase down that flying luxor and shoot it out of the sky just for fun or when we are chasing the bad guys and want to blow them up or stop them in their tracks or even during missions when we need air support to help our friendlies during a gun battle, We all turn to our Beloved Buzzard.

FYI: The Buzzard is know as AH-6J Little Bird in Real Life.

AH6J_LittleBird_8.jpg

But what about the Annihilator? Till today i have rarely seen that chopper in the skies being used for some purposes. Recently, A group of friends and me went to the Vespucci Helipad to get the buzzards. Apparently there were 2 buzzards there but also a Annihilator was there but no one even looked at it for a second. Want to know why? I will tell you why,

1: It is too big and can be easily spotted in the sky

2: It is not that fast compared to a Buzzard

3: It is a bit hard to Maneuver it compared to a Buzzard

4: Most Important is that it has no Rockets and the Machine guns on it are completely Useless.

If you are chasing someone on ground and your in a Annihilator you can bet your as* that the enemy will get away cause the annihilator's machine guns are useless! Its hard to aim first of all and even after 100 shots the target will get away. I use the guns on the buzzard all the time so i am well trained on how to use them also the annihilator was pretty good on GTA 4 but on V it sucks. To shoot properly i had to land the chopper and aim at a car and shoot. I must have shot like 50 rounds and still it didnt blow up even though the car was not moving!

FYI: In Real Life the Annihilator is known as the UH-60 Blackhawk. It is used by US Customs and Border Patrol.

UH-60%2022719%20Dept%20of%20Homeland%20S

So, As i proved in my Above Post that the Annihilator is Pretty Useless, Why have Rockstar Still Kept it? Hell, Why did they even port it to GTA V? Sure there are many Military Helicopters out there that are Much Better than the Annihilator so why the hell should they keep it? I have thought upon a solution that divides into 2 parts. Plan A and B.

Plan A: Modify the Annihilator and add Door Gunners and Automatic Target Locking Missiles.

232389__machine-gun-tape-arrows-helmet-d

Plan B: Completely Replace the Annihilator in Game with a New Attack Helicopter {AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter}

00026689.jpg

Just Look at It! It can even fly Upside Down! Who does not like that! Will be excellent to avoid missiles from the Lazer! Well, I love the Apache its really the best of its class. If Rockstar does Replace the Annihilator this should be the replacement. They could make it spawn only at Fort Zancudo and not make it purchasable that way it would be really worth it to get our hands over it. True, That adding Missiles and Door Gunners on the Annihilator will be a good decision but adding the Apache in game would totally change the gameplay. And no, I am not saying this as a Call of Duty or Battlefield fan. I am saying this considering the amount of Military Resources in game. If players can use a tank blow up cars and not pay Insaurance then why not this?

What do you guys think about it? Should they add the Apache? Or Should they just Upgrade the Annihilator? Post your Opinions Below!

Here is a Free Wallpaper for all you Military Fans,

What about the Eurocopter Tiger

It's a two seater with Hellfire missles. One person is the designated pilot and one is the designated gunner but both can operate both controls. It appeared in the James Bond Goldeneye movie.

Alternatively, I'd love to see this one as it has a functional purpose other than a weapon of war. It was a stealth helicopter. It's the Sikorsky Comanche and was a failed project.

Like the Tiger, it's meant to be used for reconnaissance but it can be heavily armed.

Yeah the annihilator is quite useless. This one time I was in the Titan and a guy in a annihilator was chasing me. So I turned around and rammed him. He exploded when by wing basically cut off his tail and I kept on flying.

Side mounted guns that do the same damage as the miniguns it has now would be awesome though. I say add that to the Annihilator and remove the miniguns, and add the Hunter! Apparently the military there are Marines, so an AH-1Z would be more fitting than an Apache, but who really cares we want a damn Hunter.

I once had an Annihilator while two players below me robbed an armored truck, so for fun I started shooting the police choppers following them to assist their getaway. It's pretty effective for shooting Mavericks out of the sky. But suck at everything else, and that's pretty limited use.

It is quicker than a Maverick though, isn't it?

In the right hands (not mine) the Annihilator is pretty deadly. The cannons are way more powerfull then the Buzzards. I saw a video where the pilot calmy dodged the rockets from the attacking Buzzard while blasting him to pieces. I also been chased by good pilot in Annihilators while im driving and it was quite terrifying.

I do agree it felt way more useful in IV against other heli or against ground targets. The flying, circling and targeting was way smoother.

Also the DLC had the explosive bullets which was fun.

Doesn't it have the same gun as the jet (the extremely powerful explosive minigun)? Once you hit something, it's gone, but well, try to hit something :)

Actually no. The guns on the Jet are Way More Powerful. You hit something and they explode on spot. I have shot down many buzzards and titans with 3 to 4 shots from the Machineguns on the Lazer. The guns on the Lazer tend to blast/explode upon impact.

Woo these are my favorite threads!! I get so fired up in anticipation for the Hunter.

YES we need the Hunter back, no doubt about it. The only thing I disagree with is that it is only able to be obtained from Fort Zancudo. I would easily buy this death machine for any price.

The flying tin can known as the Annihilator is pretty powerful vs other aircraft, but it's massive size, slow speed and weak damage against everything else cancel that out.

I think the Hunter would be a good purchase price at around $2,000,000 coming with flares that regenerate about every 45 seconds, the machine gun having around the same power as the Combat MG, and free fire rockets that fire up to 8 before reload. Enough stopping power to take out a Rhino or at least match it.

Being able to put a gun on the side of an Annihilator would be great though. I also want to be able to add crew emblems and change the color on Pegasus vehicles, dammit.

He's talking about the GTA IV annihilator which in the DLC used explosive rounds,

I totally agree with you, great forum post btw.

Also another point, it is quite hard to fly the thing without it constantly swaying side to side, if they got rid of the sway and made the guns a touch more powerful then it could have its uses.

I do like the idea of adding flares and side gunners to aid as a counter to buzzards and jets though!

I actually entered the Army as a pilot and got to fly the Tiger helicopter several times before being swapped to infantry where I did a few trips as a side gunner in Afghanistan. They're really maneuverable there's one story where the RPG went through one side of the helicopter and out the other.

Just to clarify it didn't happen to me, it was just one of those stories passed around our FOB during the deployment. Don't know if it's fake but it could be real some crazy sh*t happens.

I hope R* do return the annhillator to it's former glory back in TLaD and the TBOGT days. Those explosive rounds is really going to compensate for the weakness.Say,you can now have tanks and buzzards with lock on rockets for 200$,at least explosive rounds put some use in the annhilator.

In the right hands, it can be pretty good. I took out a few buzzards last night with one. :beerhat:

Nah, it's more simple than that:

-Make it have more armour so that it can survive heavy gunfire and indirect explosions

-Make faster than the buzzard

-Make its guns have a much longer range

-Make its guns do a lot more damage to ground targets

This should easily balance it with the Buzzard.

Buff the Annihilator in terms of damage. A few bullets & it starts smoking. Also would love the addition of the Hunter.

The Annihilator's miniguns are inaccurate as hell. Even though it has two extra guns than the Buzzard, the spread is far too wide to actually matter.

The only advantage is that the pilot is a little safer, but that doesn't really matter, because most people will just whip out a minigun, or if they're in a buzzard, will just lock on with a missile.

I'm not an experienced annihilator pilot, but it does pack a punch. I shot down a cargo bob with a short, 2 second burst. So saying that the cannons are less powerful than those on the buzzard is BS. Let's be honest here, the only reason no one likes it is because it has no rockets. And everyone can shoot a rocket.
