What's the deal with Heists?

Are they seriously overrated,or am I missing something?

As far as I can see you will:

1. Have a group of players (friends).

2. 'Plan' where and what you are going to steal.

3. You will travel there in your own cars with your own guns.

4. Once there you will shoot your way in, find what you need, blow it up, leave in the getaway, make it to the helicopter or whatever.

5. You have earned some money and RP.

That just seems like another mission to me, except you get to sort of plan where on the map it will take place?

Can someone please enlighten me to the massive obsession with Heists?

Content we expected from day one but 'cut' to make us want it more.

Exactly. Many people expect to see Single-player Heists with different paths, outcomes, planning etc. This simply won't happen. Heists will be the same as current "Go-bring me coke package" but in interiors.

A reason never to play with randoms.

Of course it's overrated, it was a good idea back then when we thought money was hard to come by.. but this late into the game I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the community has enough cash to last at least 3 more DLCs

And yeah, it's practically the same as the normal jobs we're getting already, just different scenery.

You have hit it on the nail there. I have enough for maybe a years worth of DLC, no way am I doing heists. why bother. GTA is too fast. people drop out of race lobbys if the host hesitates for 5 seconds. Who is going to be left if it takes 15 minutes to sort out who does what in the heist.

Yep - I think when they do finally release it won't be what we were hoping them to be.

In the same way that the single player was not THE ultimate GTA experience we had hoped for

Let's just wait and see how it goes. I myself, expect a sh*tstorm of threads invading this section about how much heists suck

I sure hope it wont be like that.

I am hoping for:

1. Must have 100JP to join.

2. Go to printer > prints out the heist (easiest to hardest heist depending on how much JP you have.)

3. Choose the heist > access to lobby.

4. Players vote for the approach - Plan A or B (like voting for next match screen)

5. 4-6 Players lobby > choose your role your best at > driver, hacker etc. (Maybe the players personal stats in the criteria gives them rights to classes)

6. Everyone Buys their ammo > Ready Up

7. Everyone votes for heist outfit/clothing > Ready Up

8. Choose the vehicle (from players own collection) > Ready Up

Part 1

9. Mission Starts

10. Work together to Hijack any vehicles needed etc.

11. Secure the vehicles.

Part 2

*Time Limit*

12. Everyone gets into their required position (could be different areas of the map)

13. The player in the most difficult position gets higher cut - but higher chance of dying.

14. Mission should involve > hacking, aiming over hostages (making sure they dont lower their hands to reach for alarm button), tieing up hostages, holding off waves, random problem events i.e. (hostage pulls alarm/hacking code changed/machine breakdown) = harder enemy waves.

15. Activating bombs, stuff, gadgets, taking pics on your phone.

16. Shooting cctv / watching cctv like the one in your home for any dangerous activity.

17. Picking up rucksacks of money

Part 3

*No Time Limit*

18. A Getaway Plan - Get to getaway point (This must be ready and prepared by getaway role player with help from other players since Part 1.)

19. Hold off another wave at getaway point then split up and lose the cops on your own.

20. Meet up again when clear to meet up point.

21. Mission Clear.

If its anything less then this i will be disappointment. What do you guys think?

The heists have been hugely overhyped, not by Rockstar. Just a mission with a different name.

It's what the game revolves around?

I wanted to do this for a long time!

I'd enjoy heists since they would include gunfights indoors, enough of those gunfights in open air with no cover
