First of all, thanks for not reading the first post and skipping the instructions entirely.

 

Secondly, yes, both threads will return when the cloud of spam that has been gathering around them dissipates, or the current offenders ebd up getting banned. Not likely going to be a long time before they return.

Thread Title: Odesza...I did it again...

 

Justification: The thread was to a piece I wrote as a satire format summary of what the GTAO forum is buzzing about. I wrote one previously during the business event because the threads were 20+ pages. Odesza and I had a quoted conversation of how I should do that and make it funny because sometimes people get a little serious. Nothing NSFW was in there or the page you were routed to. Many other threads have NSFW in there so why was a link to a satire article deleted?

Took a look. I think the biggest problem, other than the general chattiness of the topic, is that the first post is nothing but a link to an external blog. That's a little too advertisey for us.

 

Anyhow, in the future, these sort of topics are better suited for Gen Chat, though you'll still be required to flesh out the initial post and avoid creating a spam party.

 

So, no, it wont be returned, and I apologize for jumping the gun and issuing you a reminder but next time don't attempt to subvert a staff decision, please.

I've never contested a lock thread before but this one was locked for no reason and the link given has no association with the subject of my thread at all the only thing in common is the 4/20

Thanks for the quick response. As far as I can tell even, only one person posted off topic (Thisguyherenow) and it was locked right after that. No offense, but if that's the system for locking threads, that's a very poor system, and an easily abused thing... All one has to do is post something random and it gets a thread locked? Upside though is if the OP bothers to bring it up, it can be resolved, so I guess there's that. Seems kind of like unnecessary busy-work for both of us, but I appreciate that it can be unlocked. Also, now I know about the report option (and I probably wouldn't reply to random off-topic BS anyway), so thanks for the head's up.

I am not encouraging spamming but in fact mocking it, the posts I was hoping to encourage is not spam, but is thought out posts surrounding the discussion of 'spam' and the opinions of other GTA Online players outside of this forum community.

-Additionally I am unsatisfied with the responses from the moderator Vanzant as he just states his opinion without justification of it, I wouldn't post a PM, but he is a moderator and should not be afraid of anything he says being seen, so here's a quote:

"Garbage posts on facebook and RockStars website are not worth making a topic about. It's mostly underage individuals who shouldn't be playing adult game content in the first place. It isn't even funny, it's rather sad."

- the topic, regardless of whether or not it was well intentioned, was not presented well.

- it's off topic (we have an off topic forum)

- it promotes spam.

 

Now, you could try to recreate the thread in genchat but I'd recommend you get the lay of the land before you create a topic in there. And then, in that case, I'd suggest putting more effort into your initial post so as not to promote spam and general wankery.

The thread was moved from public gang chat to recruitment. I'm assuming it's because it isn't even an "unnofficial" crew yet. I made a a thread asking why this happened, but they referred me to this thread, which still didn't really answer my question. What are your intentions? If you're planning to stay and build as a GTAForums gang, then we can consider moving it back with a slight title adjustment.

Then I'm guessing they moved it because of the link to the website at the bottom. I see plenty of threads in public gang chat with website in their OP, some even have forums; ours doesn't. Should I make the link less noticeable or something? All the info that's on the website will be here first. In fact, I can't even edit the website atm so it's a little out of date.

An external website should only serve the purpose of providing your members a place away from the prying eyes here. Majority of your social and multiplayer activities should take place here on GTAForums (for eg., recruiting members, getting to know them, interacting with other gangs, organizing & participating in MP events, etc.). If that's what your intentions are, then you're free to host a topic in the PGC.

Perhaps mine was too popular and conflicted with yours. So you wanted the people to stop posting in my thread and post in yours instead to make yours more viewed ect. The reason in the thread why you locked it was because it should be in YOUR thread but now you've changed it to being because I didn't put enough effort into? Make up your mind. I don't want to speak to you as your just annoying me frankly.

First of all, the locking of topics is at the discretion of staff members of this forum, not the creators of said topics. They have every right to remove topics and direct them to other ones because that is what staff are here for, to moderate and keep their sections tidy; it doesn't matter when it was created or who created it. There are no ulterior motives to do with popularity here, so please kindly leave those kind of childish comments at the door. In future use this forum or PM a online staff member, don't make topics to complain.

Hello, I posted a thread in online a short while ago titled 'crippled online' and it seems to have been removed.

 

Ever since the High-Life update my online experience has been next to nothing! If I try to join the 'Go' feature in multi-player, 99% of the time I get an 'error' or 'timed out' notice on my screen and get dropped back to single-player.

 

What has happened? Is there a fix for this I can find, please? Can you PM me with some info?
