so does 2 garages = you can rearrange cars?

Will this new garage thing work like a separate database where you can move a car from garage 1 to garage 2? that would be perfect if you wanted to move cars into certain spots. fill garage 2 with off the street cars and then bring in personal vehicles from garage 1 into specific slots in garage 2 and vice versa.

i would think you should be able to drive your car into the second garage to get away from the cops right?

how annoying would it be if you were in the midst of a 4 or 5 star hot pursuit and happened to evade the cops long enough to get to your second safe house only to have the game say "sorry this car belongs in garage 1, not garage 2" and not let you in.

it worked that way in test drive unlimited and tdu 2 and those games came out years ago.

I was thinking about this.

Might be that if you have two garages (A & B) and A is full and you drive in a car you'll get the same warning as now but instead of replacing you can choose to have you mechanic move a car to garage B.

I would think they thought of that already, and your mechanic would just drive a car from A to B to make room, or drive the car to the other garage it belongs in. You could even put a "valet" option when leaving the garage, to have a car from the other waiting for you outside. But I seriously doubt there will be an option to rearrange them, it's not a necessary feature by any means.

It would be easier for R* to keep the garages separate and under the current restraints, but if they've really been listening to us we would be able to move cars between them and come up with our preferred arrangements

If you can transfer cars from garage A to garage B then yes you could rearrange your cars.

maybe some people want to have a themed garage? 6 of the 10 cars in my garage right now are based on movie/TV cars. the others are rare cars (hearse) race cars (coquette and tourismo) and the 4th is the roosevelt. maybe i want to move those 4 to the new garage and put 4 other movie/TV themed cars in the original garage such as the JB 700 i had to sell when i got the clean rebel back.

My plan is 10 movie based cars in 1 garage and then the second garage for all the other stuff.

FWIW some of my movie based cars are actually race cars like the phoenix and ruiner for muscle and the clean rebel for offroad and the stinger for sports classic.

Id imagine it will just be that when you enter either garage your car will magically apear in its proper spot just as it does now...even if it is in the other garage. The only downfall may be that you can't always leave in the same car you entere with.

I hope a way to manage garage layout comes with this, but if not...I've pretty much got my garage situated just how I want it.

seems more likely they'd just code it so you could take cars from 1 garage to the other? i agree it would be a bit cumbersome if you had both garages full but that seems like the most logical way. Or maybe if you take a car from garage 1 to garage 2 that's in say slot 10, it puts the car from garage 2's slot 10 into garage 1's slot 10 thus swapping the cars in the slot 10 parking spot?

or maybe it moves a car from the first garage to the second unless the second is full in which case it just reverts it back to the first when you enter the second.

There is no way to know Rockstar's intention but I can't think of a logical reason why you couldn't drive a car out of one garage and into the other.

I'd find it convenient to pack away all the cars I have just for racing odd classes into one garage. For example I intend to get a Sanchez but can't imagine a reason to drive it in free-roam, ever.

I assume it'll be simply that if you store a car in garage 2 that was in garage 1, it'll just update it's saved location. If you know what order cars are deposited into the garage of an empty garage is, you'll probably be able to line it up right however if you have say 15 cars, it may become trickier.

Got a pocket full of bills, watch me do my dance.

I just popped a pill, watch me do my dance.

Easy solution would be to fill the second garage with random cars and then you can choose the spot you want by overwriting.
