Changing tire type on Sandking

Acceptable

Recommended Posts

Not sure if anyone's noticed, but changing the tire type from anything but stock in the "Off Road" category will result in the tire width shrinking. Is this purely aesthetic or does it affect performance?

Different wheel types don't affect performance as far as I'm aware just like a spoiler doesn't affect downforce, its purely cosmetic.. I've got high end wheels on my Sandking and its just as good off road as before

I hate that, and stuck with the stocks for that reason. Wish bigger tires and lift kits were optional.

So you mean that stock tires were better performing?

No, I agree with the other poster. An entity with lowrider tires drives the same as one with high ends. Stylistically speaking I hate that.

Sorry, I meant changing Rims within the "Off-Road" category. "Stock" seems to give you the widest tires, and changing it to a different custom "Off-Road" style shrinks the tire width. It feels like that "Stock" is a bit faster.

It actually does help but the difference is so small that...yeah, in the end, it sort of doesn't. It doesn't give more grip, it just recudes the width but lets you change the wheel color which is nice. I went with custom black rims (offroad), looks good and you get used to them.

You can change the colour of the stock wheels too if thats what you're after.

IIRC, buy some different ones, then change the colour, then change back to the original wheels and they should keep the new colour

Wheels are a visual change and any handling change youll feel is a placebo.

Anybody who says putting a huge ass spoiler on a car (particularly the Feltzer and Phoenix) doesn't affect the performance is full of sh*t. It helps you drift around corners a hell of a lot easier. Whether or not changing the wheels affect performance, I don't know..

It really doesn't. People have checked the game files and the only things with performance multipliers are engine, turbo, suspension etc.

Wheels, bumpers, spoilers etc do not affect performance.

On topic: Yup it sucks about the wheel size thing, the custom rims look so puny on a Sandking or a MW Mesa.

If a spoiler were to have any effect, it would surely increase downforce, thus making it harder to drift. Doesn't feel any different to me at all though.

Do you not know how drifting works?

Everybody claims that putting different tires on a car doen'st affect anything.

But I know for a face that; putting whitewalls on a offroad of sportscar magicly makes everybody want to blow up your car. <3
