does this seem weird to you

i know it may seem weird, but i really enjoy doing it.

I set hours of my day aside to take camping trips and enjoy the scenery in gta 5

last week i went on a walk through los santos for 4 hours (real time)

and it was beautiful... everything was so realistic, to the pedestrians taking out trash and the police arresting people.

yesterday i hiked through the mountains taking pauses every 5 minutes to take in the sights

this trip probably took me at least 2 hours (real time)

but last night is the thing that worries me the most

i was doing some late night gaming when i decided to go on a camping trip with michael

everything felt so weird..

it felt like i was in the game

i could feel the game inside me

i could smell what was going on in the game

but then my alarm clock went off and it was already 6 oclock

i hadn't slept a wink all night and i had to stay home from school because of it.

does anyone else have similar experiences?
please help.

edit:

i also dont go out with any of my friends much

i reallly don't have too many friends at all

and so when i was playing around in gta 5 and accidentally called trevor to hang out, i had this strange sensation inside me

like a new part of me had opened up.

it turns out trevor is actually pretty funny and him and michael (me) spent the whole day hanging out

we got drunk, played darts, went on killing sprees

and doing this made me the happiest i have ever been in months

When I was in highschool I used to do this with Oblivion when it first came out on the 360. Did you do this with IV? Are is V you're first GTA?

Hmmm..... Sounds like something that Jack Reacher would've posted.

Sounds like my life, except I don't play video games that much anymore, apart from MMORPGs and VNs and stuff like that on PC. GTA V just gets boring after a while.

I tried to do what you did but npcs are just to irresistible to kill for me. I went on GTA after reading this post and saw how long I would last not breaking laws in the game. I spawned in a mexican hood and within 10 seconds a mexican hit me with his f*ckin bike, got off and started talkin sh*t. I was too tempted to kill the guy. As I walked around gang members would keep trying to f*ck with me (even though i'm wearing a red exterminator outfit with a jason mask holding a knife), so I had no choice but to kill. It is nice to stop, look around and see all the detail and listen to what peds say but then I just gotta f*ck some sh*t up.

Same, I appreciate it for a moment, then some ped does something stupid which pulls me from the immersion and I am forced to end them. Then there's a cop chase so I end up a mile from where I was anyway. But I like it this way.

The design of the GTAV world is a masterpiece of artwork, and to take the time to experience it like the OP, is to properly appreciate that work of art. The reaction to a piece of art is personal and more power to people who can really get this much out of it.

Before GTAV came out, I think some people got into RDR in a similar way, because it was so beautiful.

You may enjoy going on hikes irl bro.

You know there's a problem when a bunch of nerds on a forum are telling you to go outside.

I've followed the law in gta for a few minutes but it usually ends with me running over someone, planting c4 on their corpse then detonating it when paramedics arrive, surrounded by onlookers.

I tried to walk around and drive around casually, never lasts long before I get bored/distracted.

Seems a bit over the top, to spend THAT much time, but I can see how whil doing something you like, time flies by. I would suggest you pipe down on GTA a bit, and try to find another hobby alongside GTA, just to not act like a weirdo when you ARE with people. And imagine doing all this crap with real people, that would've been twice as fun man. Don't let the fact you don't have many friends discourage you of doing sh*t with your friends, and btw, friends are not difficult to make, try it man.

V doesn't look good IMO.

I remember playing the game for the first time, expecting the graphics to be like in the trailers, and was totally blown away at how sh*tty it looked.

From cars in the distance, to the textures of buildings, to the NPCs.

There's no excuse for the constant jagged lines in here. Even IV had better anti aliasing.

Yes, that does seems weird to me. I never felt part of the game actually, it felt more alive in 2011. I don't get that connection, I always get distracted by annoying sounds, people saying the same lines all over again, car engine sounds there and there everywhere, f*ckin' insects and flies sounds, and so on. Diving/going on Submarine feels a bit relaxing though.
