Tank Drivers Immune to Mors Payments?

Deffpony

Recommended Posts

I'll start by apologizing because I am sure this has been talked about, but I was unable to find a topic on it. I have been away from GTAO and GTAF for a while so I have been catching up.

I have noticed that when someone in a tank destroys your personal vehicle, you are stuck with the Mors payment. How long has it been like this? I am assuming its not supposed to be this way since it tells you the tank driver paid the fee when in fact you are stuck with the payment.

I feel like Rockstar is doing everything in their power to make me hate tanks more and more.

Never undertood why this is, or why it's not been fixed...but yes it is, and yes it's not been fixed.

I don't understand it either, as when I drive around in a tank I seem to be responsible for the Ins payments, but when I am tanked the bill is still sent to me.

I've had to pay for blowing up PVs with a tank, and recently at that, both with collisions and the cannon. But then, I've been on the receiving end too and had to pay for insurance, so I dunno what gives here.

Its because people purposely ran into tanks to give people bad sports points & sometimes the person that blows up the car still pay for it

That seems fair though, if you have a tank you should be prepared to pay. I certainly am when I break out my tank... it seemed Rockstar had been putting a lot of effort into protecting people with tanks, a vehicle used almost 100% for griefing alone.

So it seems that both parties involved are paying for the insurance. Hope they fix this soon.

I understand not charging tank drivers with collision damages on PV's but if they shoot someones PV they should definitely pay.

Are tank drivers getting BS points for blowing peoples vehicles up with the cannon??

most common thing is people putting their money onto their second characters. bank with the first then withdraw into the second characters hands, thus they never have to pay because they have no money in the bank. quite the lame tactic IMO.

the other day i was in a tank and a friend was following me and got a little too close and rear ended me while i was turning a corner. i was moving but somehow still had to pay the insurance. i don't intentionally blow up cars so i don't know if using the cannon and blowing up a car will cost the tank owner (which it should) or not.

Honestly I think getting bad sports for blowing up cars is stupid, i mean its GTA but i also dont like that you have to pay either because what criminal is going to blow up your car on purpose & then say "Here let me pay for that"

Anyways short story short that still doesn't stop me...

From what I understand the game tries to detect which party is in motion.

Last time I tried this I was stung with the insurance bill. In fact more often than not I have to pay insurance for fools getting in my way.

What they need to do is implement negative cash balances in the game. That would fix everything. Twankers pay, and if they have no money they just go in the red. BOOM. Done.

Nope you get one warning and have to pay like once every 10 cars if that. You can make people lose + of 100k in no time and not pay a penny in claims.

Made a thread about this a few days ago about four people in tanks who self-addmitted to being "Free Roam Server Purgers" who would transfer all their money to another character by taking it all out on hand and then switching back to their character that has the tank. They drive around blowing up cars not having to pay the bill or getting a bad sportsmanship. They'll first rob a store so they have enough money to pay their mechanic and utility bill, but that's about it. It's not ony broken, but should be considered grieving IMO considering how hard it is already to blow up a tank. You get a crew of even just three people roaming around in tanks and they can't be stopped.

They don't listen to us with this topic, this seems to be Rockstar's way of trolling the community. You want to keep the tank in-game? Fine..give us a cool down timer for it, and possibly an anti-tank weapon like a Javelin or letting the Buzzard lock onto tanks. It'd be nice too if the tanks users showed up on the map as a tank icon so you don't randomly roam down the road into one roaming around.

Thats what i do... Lame = Smart since i never pay for anything when defending myself. Its not like you can drive around all day blowing up PVs non stop and not get sent to BS.

But tanks are indeed immune to insurance unless the cars is parked.

Basically players started ramming tanks with pvs putting tank drivers in BS. R* attempted to fix that so we get what we get.

Tanks are the current crown jewel of R* cash card flow and they know it. :(

It doesn't work, I've parked cars before, had them blown up next to me, I die and they still pay it..even when I'm in Passive Mode. It seems as if GTA Online is just some Beta testing for future GTA games, and Rockstar just wants certain situations to sit around and linger for months, seeing how the community works around it or deals with it before they finally take action.

There are other ways of defending yourself without blowing up a PV.

Meh, I'll still blow it up without hiding my cash. I'm rich and wont notice the odd $12,500 here or there. It's not like there's anything for me to spend cash on anymore.

If you can't beat'em, join'em. Why should he or anyone else have to suffer because of something Rockstar refuses to address? Not only that, I think it someone's firing at you in a car, you shouldn't be given a Badsportsmanship when you blow up their car. I had a crew member who was only one car away from being put in the Dunce Lobby..so he couldn't afford to blow up this guy in his Entity XS who kept driving up from the back and shooting, taking off then trying to run him over in their car. If you're fired at, it should have a time window of say, 15-20 seconds that you're immune to getting a Badsportsmanship.

Yes, I always get the warning. I get "Good Sport" payments too, though.

Too add to what some of what you have said without getting too far off topic, I think blowing up PV's shoulding give you bad sports, but the people who blow the vehicles up should have to pay the fees. Maybe make the fees double what they are now to help discourage it without making it such a horrible thing to do.
