GTA Online: Graphics vs Performance

Customizer

Recommended Posts

Rockstar chose to keep the graphics very close to story mode, but that required sacrificing true top speeds, full traffic, and animals.

How sh*tty of graphics would you have accepted in exchange for better performance?

Its a tough decision. I wouldn't mind the same exact graphics of GTA 4 if the game had a lot more content to compensate for the loss of the good graphics, but I'm not really much of a graphics person. I wouldn't mind having animals in GTA Online though, but I would rather sacrifice something nobody ever really uses like arm wrestling or taking out the interiors for buildings you cant enter outside of missions/glitches, but I'm fine just flying around in my jet destroying tanks. :p

I would take the graphics of SA for a HUGE map.

As long as it would have GTA IV physics, i wouldn't care about a graphic downgrade.

I really like the graphics the way they are now. Maybe I'd take a game that would be to gta v what oblivion is to skyrim in terms of graphics, but they'd need a sh*t ton more customization options for me to be as happy.

If we could get GTA IV graphics, GTA V mechanics (fluid movement compared to clunky running from GTA IV) and a big map like SA had (some say it's small if you remove the fog but it was massive), it would be the perfect GTA if those 3 things were made so there would be more content with good performance.

It's good how it is, though. I don't really have a real problem with GTA V. The only one I have is minor stuff like the cops are too annoying and tough, there's no cop missions like GTA IV (or cop roleplay like saving a cop car in your garage excluding the mod community) and the radio stations aren't as nostalgic inducing as they are in GTA IV and GTA SA (hosts sucks). Those are all content complaints, though, so you could say graphics and performance is great for a game that's running on such old consoles. If the thread was down to the classic question of graphics or performance, I'd go with performance any day. Who the hell wants to see realistic graphics with a bunch of lag going on? Props if your rig/console can run it but performance is a must to enjoy any game. Proof: watching a video on Youtube in 360 is okay when it loads completely. Watch it in 1080 and it buffers every 16 seconds sucks.

GTA 4 had horrible physics.
