universetwisters
Think of it like a game. We say where we're at right now and we decide if it would be a good place for a GTA game or not. Living in Daytona Beach, I'd say it's kinda an alright place for a GTA game. You get your fair share of gangbangers and drug dealers, but not to the scale of Miami. I used to live in the Washington DC beltway, and that was a pretty good place to set a GTA game I'd think, though. Zello

universetwisters
Considering I live in Australia, no. I always thought that would be a good place for a GTA game, seeing as you've got the infamous Housos and all. CantThinkOfOne2013
^ lol, I'm sure if an Australian GTA was ever made, the first missions would start in the 'housos' but I say Australia wouldn't be good for GTA because we have enough trouble trying to sell it here, GTA V was the first game that no one tried to ban here (I was surprised that Abbot had nothing against it) thanks to the R18+ rating. gtamann123
Twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Wouldn't really be a good setting at all. Very bland
BrownBear
I live in a small town in the South West, so no. My nearest city, Bristol, is probably too small, though it does have a lot of drug crimes and some Jamaican gangs. The other city I have a connection to is Izmir, Turkey where my dad and his family are from. I'd love to see a GTA set there even though it never would. It's a huge beautiful city that curls round a large bay. Crime can be pretty bad, Turkish Mafia families run most of the city with some Kurdish, Gypsy and ex pat criminals working there. I think Istanbul would be the only city that would be shown in Turkey, as it is the biggest and most iconic.
Kiffster
Definitely not, there's absolutely nothing going on here where I live. I never hear any sirens, there's not a hooker or drug dealer in sight, and it's just too damn quiet and peaceful. Other parts of South Africa might be more suitable for GTA (like Joburg or Cape Town perhaps), but not here in this part of the capital city where I see nothing but mountains, untouched land and wild animals if I look over the wall. This entire region is just the complete opposite of what you'd expect to see in GTA.
Drunken Cowboy
Chicago... we're just like New York, but more boring and less iconic... And because of Liberty, we will never see Chicago GTA'd... Watchdogs better not suck. theGTAking101
Real_Badgirl
No. I live in a really boring suburb where violent crime is practically non existant. In the twelve years I've lived here, there have only been two homicide cases. There aren't any serious drug dealers either, just a bunch of morons who do about five deals and then get busted. Honestly, there isn't even much petty theft where I live, so it would be one of the worst possible locations for a GTA game.

How close are you to the Canada border? I can imagine there might be some sort of smuggling going on, or at least what I imagine.
woggleman
I live at the Jersey Shore and I am sure it would make a good game. The block right next to the boardwalk is often like a car show on a nice summer night.
Zello
Well Im from DC and live in nearby PG county Pistol Grip County, Murdaland so a GTA game could be set in the DMV The Hoods of DC and The suburbs of Northern Virginia and Parts of Maryland would be nice Would like to see R* take on the monuments im sure they will poke fun at how the monuments look like intimate parts of the body and have some fun with all the politicians in the city Imagine Southeast DC in A GTA game... If Not try Baltimore after watching The Wire that city is really f*cked. Maybe even Philly Just wanna see a game take place in the Mid Atlantic region Other Places could be Houston, Detroit, or New Orleans.

GTA can get away with cities with low crime if its an interesting city. But MN is just so uninteresting and unrecognizable to most people it could pretty much never work for GTA
ClaudX
My location? Hahaha. If my location became a GTA game, then have fun jacking tractors and pick-ups. In all seriousness, it could be an interesting location. The towns aren't as small as Ludendorff and there's still a nice amount of crime. There would have to be a hunting minigame. Just about everyone here hunts, but then there's that small group (me included) that are shunned upon for not liking that whole 'hillbilly-confederacy flags-always driving your truck or four-wheeler down the road like an idiot' lifestyle. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'd like my area (or someplace similar) to be in a GTA. All those hillbillies can't fight back against a minigun. Heheheh... gtamann123
Well yeah some areas of DC have a ton of poverty and crime. And the suburbs of DC are some of the most affluent neighborhoods in the entire country. So it leaves for a good diversity of neighborhoods. Tyla
I've been shot at in Birmingham and the small towns around the Midlands are pretty much wastelands now. Thank f*ck I left. Those places would be perfect for a post apocolyptic game/film set in the UK but as far as GTA goes I'd rather have London. Current location? Weekends I see loads of trouble but plonk does that to people and Australia's "one punch" culture is a thing of media interest at the moment. What this place does have to offer is a lovely stuck-in-the-70s feel and a spatter of exotic vehicles. We've got the marina full of yachts and speedboats. Population is very diverse: the English, the Asian, Greeks, Italians, Eastern Europeans, Pakistanis, Maltese. As far as media and entertainment goes most of it is imported from the US anyway. MythicalCreature
I have no idea where I stand on this. Dhaka, where I live, has poor, really poor living conditions. And to sum that up, there's the global warming season screwup, strikes, college kids mobbing streets led by corrupt politicians, a weak police force, you hear about robberies and murders every day, people getting mugged out in broad daylight, you could say that Dhaka is a toned-down-violence Bangladeshi version of Carcer City. But where it completely sucks is in terms of Vehicles and culture. Almost the only cars you see out on the roads are Toyotas and Mitsubishis. There are Rickshaws, Chop Shop 3-wheeled taxis and Buses unfit for road use and with damaged body works. While the culture itself isn't poor at all, It is worlds apart from the GTA culture we know and love. A few modders once turned GTA VC into a Bengali GTA (The city and plot was the same, you can figure it was sh*t) that is very popular amongst many Bengali GTA players I know, but if a real GTA was set in Dhaka, I don't know. Sami Uso
Not where I currently live because it would just make a very boring game, what would they do, rob tractors or riding lawnmowers? I want a GTA set in New Orleans, since that's where I used to live for 8 years. There are plenty of crimes going on over there, I think it would make a perfect GTA. tehSpitefulPotato
I guess, it would. I live in a pretty interesting city, with abandoned factories and buildings, rich and poor districts and etc. Crime shouldn't be problem either, since there are at least two illegal gambling clubs in my neighborhood (seriously). The highest building in the whole city was a really crappy 19-story tall hotel, until they built an apartment building just across the road. There's a business claimed as 'CLUB' where there was a fire and some shooting almost 4 years ago, and it's still the same.

Special Members
I live in Norway, so no. The city I live in is pretty boring. There is some drug related crime and robberies now and then, and a murder every 12th year, but that´s about it. Some areas of my city look pretty shady, though. na89340qv0n34b09q340
Orlando probably wouldn't work unless they really played it up. There's lots of crime, but I'm sure it's very boring, robberies to support family/drug habits and stuff like that. The only big thing I can think of is kidnapping at our theme parks, and that would be a terrible thing to base a video game on. The neighborhoods are also pretty dull. Most of the city is either a subdivision built around lakes, or big four/six lane roads with strip malls and fast food joints on either side. Our ghettos are the same, except yards are a little more unkempt and a few more businesses have bars on the windows. Downtown Orlando and Winter Park are kinda cool, but not in a GTA way. It could work as a minor city if the devs really wanted to throw it in for something like adding the Glory Hole theme park in a Vice City game, but I think they'd do better just to put Glory Hole in Vice City and just throw some Orlando-esque stuff in instead.
