I expected it to be some indie horror game / Slenderman clone, after reading the title.

But wow this game looks fantastic. The graphics are great, the crafting looks cool and the enemies seem to fit in the overall atmosphere.

I will definitely keep an eye on this one.

This looks really good to me, i'm a sucker for these zombie type games. It looks like a good Dead Island, although, when the player was hitting zombies (or should i say, cannibalistic mutants) it seemed like the hit had absolutely no impact, which will get annoying.

Looking forward to hearing more about this.

Yes, those aren't really zombies, they are cannibals :D

I think hit impact was fine, atleast animation. They only need to make it sound more powerful.

so is there a goal ot do you just have to surrvive the whole time. (short: is there a story?)

Although the game is called "The Forest", I hope there are also small cities or villages. Only Forest could get boring realy quick

I doubt they'll be any towns/cities, i get the overwhelming impression that this game is set on an island you have crash landed on, only cannibalistic tribes live on it.

Yes, towns would ruin atmosphere of lone survival.
I bet there will be some small cannibal camps with good loot, exploring caves also seems very great and scary.

I also thought this would be some kind of Slenderman ripoff.

but wow it looks fantastic. I like the idea of savage tribespeople better than zombies. zombies are already old. been there, done that.

and Oculus Rift support?

count me in.

Some fresh news.

Sounds great so far.

The Forest’s forest will change dynamically, and force the player to react to those changes. SKS are implementing a full weather system, including the effects of that system on the player’s survival strategies. “[P]layers will have to build fires or shelters to keep warm at night,” the developers revealed, “and being cold will have negative effects on stamina and other game systems.”

Creatures will not be mindless, only out to kill you. Instead, monsters will have “fears and feelings”, adding an element of player engagement that is set to innovate the horror space. The aim is to get the creatures to “react believably to the actions of the player as well as each other”

“Our focus is on a living emergent world, tides rise and fall, every plant and tree can be cut down and entire areas cleared.”

Looks amazing but I don't like survival horror games.

Wish there was something like this but without monsters and stuff, normal survival and exploration :)

It looks great. They said it should cost around $15 on launch.
I think it's what Rust should've been.

BarelyLegal

Really looking forward to this. I hope it's not one of those games where the trailers mask it to look far superior to how it actually handles in-game.

I think it's gonna look just like it does in the trailers.

Maybe with some things refined of course. The whole base building thing and mutants smashing through your defense really adds to my hype.

Imagine playing this in the dark at 3 in the morning.

I heard somewhere, that there is an actual story to this, and it's up to you, if you want to follow it, or just survive. (As you see the story progresses in the caves) I also heard that you can play normaly, and survive without the story stuff after you complete it. Don't quote me on it though.

This game makes current AAA titles and everything else out right now look like a childish kids game.

This + co-op would be bloody insane. Can't wait to see some proper gameplay. Though it probably won't be finished for a f*cking while, going by the track record of early access these days it will probably be fully finished and on PS4 by 2020.

Hopefully this stays on PC because we need some good exclusives.

Anyway just got word that the Early Access is on May 22. Was going to buy a game releasing this week, but I think I'll save my money for this game.

It'll be $14.99 on release 16 days from now. I think I can wait.

Yep. It's looking amazing, and only $15 for the Early Access?

I regret buying DayZ now.
